What a great place to stay
Staying only one night enroute to a funeral the Great Malvern was absolutely perfect. We luckily secured a slot in the small car park (other car parks not far away). Walking in the door on a cold evening we were met with an immediate warmth both in terms of temperature and welcome at reception. The hotel is an old building but has been modernised while maintaining the character and a number of small touches add to making it such an iconic place to stay. Lots of posters from the local theatre and artefacts and pictures from the Morgan factory too, but without spoiling the coaching inn ambience.
Our room was extremely comfortable with lots of up to date features, the attention to detail by the hosts with fresh water in a glass bottle and even a small chocolate on the bed! Everything just made us as guests feel special.
We spent the evening in the bar which was so comfortable and had a full array of drinks.
Breakfast was a theatrical experience never to be forgotten. Served on the day by our host who greeted us by our names which made an impression straight away. The cooked breakfast is made to order with locally sourced produce and the quality was excellent.
The hotel is used by actors performing in the theatre so don’t be surprised to have a famous face sitting at the next table. I know we were. All in all the Great Malvern is a fabulous place to stay we were disappointed only to be staying the one night. We will certainly be booking again.
