Our family (2 adults 2 children) stayed 3 nights in the large family room at the Shakespeare Inn. The children had their own bunk beds. The staff and the people of the Ironbridge gorge are really friendly and helpful. The staff made us very welcome in the inn and advised us on sights to see. Breakfast is excellent! The restaurant is very popular in […] the area. Make sure to book in advance for evening meals. There is a nice children's play area and good outside space. The pub itself is a free house and serves local brewed beers as well as the usual range of drinks. You can hear talking from the pub in your room, but with closing time of 11pm this is not much of an issue and the girls slept over the talking fine. Walking, cycling are all good options from the Shakespeare Inn to see the sights (consider hiring bikes for the day, tandems and single bikes available from the bike shop by the Jackfield Tile Museum). The Inn is located opposite the tar tunnel and 2-3 minutes walking distance of the China museum. It is a short walk over the river to the Jackfield Tile museum and then a 20 minute walk to the Ironbridge itself. We drove to the Blists Hill Victorian Town that the children loved. If you have children a great stop is Engunity. They will love trying out the engineering and in particular the hydo-dams (our girls had three hours fun in this place and its really only one floor in size). The location, the facilities, service and food was excellent, however the noise from the pub beneath and the adjacent room did put a dampner on my stay. Would recommend but with a warning!

I was very impressed with the Inn. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The bed was wonderful and I slept really well. I would definitely stay there again whenever I am back in that area.

Right in the middle of the Ironbridge museum area, this little Inn had everything we were looking for. A large clean family room, garden with decent play area, great food and friendly service from all the staff. I had a very comfortable stay at this very modestly-priced pub in a lovely location. The room had all of the facilities that one could need and since I'll be back in the area next year, I will certainly book to stay here again. The surrounding village and area is worth at least a day's visit alone.

Fabulous stay. Every member of staff we came into contact with were extremely pleasant and helpful. Rooms clean and towels changed daily. The food - wow! quality good and portions HUGE. Good location for Blists Hill Victorian Town, China Museum etc. We would definately return here.

I always look at past reviews and I am glad we chose the Shakespeare. The rooms were very clean and the power shower was lovely (room 1). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The English breakfast was plentiful and the evening sizzling meal was one of the best pub meals we have ever had and quite reasonable as well. Arrived on Friday pm and was given the key to the room, the staff advised us that if we wanted to eat at the Pub then a table had been reserved but it would be busy. The room was clean and freshly painted and the bathroom spotless. When we arrived back at the pub in the evening the table was still reserved despite the resturant being full, the meal […] was excellent and great value. Breakfast was to a high standard and the service excellent. Our stay at the Shakespeare Inn was made special be the helpfull staff and the high quality of the accommodation. The noise from the bar can just be heard in the rooms above the bar but this a busy Pub / Resturant and to be expected. I would recommend the Shakespeare Inn to anyone especially as the location is within medium walking distance to all the Ironbridge and local attractions. Læs mere

I was made very welcome. A table had been reserved for dinner just in case I needed it. I did the food was fantastic too much on the plate but I did my best. The bar was very busy but did not keep me awake at all Breakfast was also superb Next time I will take my walking boots

Lovely place to stay with a pub which seems very popular with the locals and created a great family atmosphere. We stayed in the pub till closeing and enjoyed the company of a few locals. Would definitley stay again.

The Shakespear is ideally situated for the tourist attractions of Iron Bridge and surrounding museums. It's a nice friendly pub/restaurant, I didn't have an evening meal but the breakfast was good. ２歳と４歳の子供と夫婦で宿泊しました。イギリスは一般的に建物が古いですが、ここも古かったものの部屋は清潔で設備は比較的新しく快適でした。ただ、夜１１時くらいまでは部屋の真下のパブでみんな楽しく飲んでいるので、話し声が床から聞こえてきます。私たちは気になりませんでしたが、気になる人は注意してください。 部屋の下のパブは料理が美味しく、スタッフもお客さんも親切で、私がグラス４つの飲み物をカウンターで注文したところ、隣にいたお客さんが持つのが大変だからと一緒に運んでくれました。個人的に一番大事なのはスタッフの人間性と思っていますが、ここは安心して楽しめます。何か困ったことなどがあったら先ずスタッフに相談してみるといいと思います。 車で行ったので、車以外の交通手段はわかりませんが、少なくとも車で行く […] のならば周りの観光スポットへは非常にアクセスがいいです。 あと、細かいことですが、部屋にサービスで水のペットボトルが置いてあって飲めたのが嬉しかったです。 最後に、パブのスタッフが宿泊施設の従業員でもあるので、チェックインの時はパブに入って予約をしている旨を伝えると対応してもらえます。 Læs mere
