We just spent one short night here (between connecting flights) so we did not get to experience the locale, free breakfast or amenities (although there is a Mickey Ds close by) The room does not look anything like what was on the website and it definitely is a no frills hotel but it was clean and bug free. THE SAN MARCO HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN WILLEMSTED, CURACAO IS CONVENIENTLY LOCATED AND VERY BASIC. FRONT DESK EMPLOYEES WERE MODERATELY FRIENDLY TO HELPFUL DEPENDING ON THE SHIFT. THE ROOMS ARE VERY SMALL AND NOT EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. EG. MY LAMP COULDN'T BE TURNED ON AND THE BATHROOM DOOR WOULDN'T STAY OPEN. The location was great, the price was reasonable, the breakfast was good, and the service was spectacular.

- Location perfect - right downtown, near shops, restaurants, etc... - Continental breakfast satisfactory - simple & satisfying. Expect to have some form of eggs, meat & toast. Nothing fancy. - Make sure to have proof of reservation - they couldn't find our reservation & we have heard that this happens often. We had our confirmation page printed, […] so it ended up not being that big a deal, but problems could have arisen if we hadn't had it - Only major complaint would be the location of our room - our room was right next to the cleaning staffs' room & therefore we were woken up at 7am each day to the sounds of the ladies talking fairly loudly. Fortunately I printed a copy of my recervation confirmation because when I arrived to check-in the receptionist told me my name wasn't on the list, even after I gave her the confirmation. Then she asked me if I paid. I said yes. Then she asked me if I had made my reservation that day. The e-mail printout was dated three weeks earlier. She handed me […] a key. Well two keys, one of which never worked in either the elevator, room, or other access doors, even after being exchanged twice. Room is nice. Beds hard. Shower tiny and dark. When it rained the window ran like a waterfall. Room 215 is next door to a staff room, and they set their alarm for 4:30 am, then let it go off many minutes without turning it off. I finally got up and cussed them out in English. It was 4:30 am!! Doors slamming all day and night. People yelling in the halls. I left the hotel with bags under my eyes, and lots of tension in my shoulders. Breakfast was a high point: bacon, eggs fried or hardboiled, cheese slices, toast, croissants, juice, coffee, cold cereals. The Hotel is two blocks from where taxis are able to access. So I had to walk lugging two bags to it's location. Then there is no staff to assist with bags. And when leaving, I had to once again lug the bags three blocks to a taxi stand. Staff was not particulary helpful or considerate.

Right in the heart of Punda, you can't beat the San Marco for location. It's a older building, so you've got to like "quaint", but otherwise, enjoyable, clean. I didn't try the Cafeteria, as there are so many sidewalk cafes in short walking distance (like within 100 to 200 yards), so I can't say anything there. We spent a week in Curacao and spent 2 nights here. I wouldn't stay more than two nights--the location is GREAT as all the other reviews say but there are some weird locals in the area. After 2 days here, I was ready for a place with a beach/pool but it was a good introduction to Willemstaad and the island. Some of the front desk people don't really […] speak English. We weren't given the wifi password on arrival. Breakfast was substantial with eggs, meats, and many kinds of breads but I wished it had fresh fruit. I would stay here again but only for 1-2 nights. We stayed at San Marco in January for a week, but this time we only stayed one night. It was a good hotel for the price. The staff was accommodating and we enjoyed ourselves.

Hotel is in a nice convenient location. We were upgraded to 2 suites which were very nice. I assume this is because there was an overbooking? Breakfast was fair. All in all a good overnight location in Curacao

THE HOTEL WAS NOT THE TOP OF THE LINE BUT IT WAS VERY GOOD AND THE AREA IT WAS IN WAS PERFECT I WOULD RECCOMEND IT FOR A SINGLE PERSON TO STAY BUT NOT A COUPLE ON VACATION

The room was realy bad, certain moment our bed was shaking, because of '"shaking" our neihbours bed. its no joke it was realy shaking.In the bed you oll to each other, that was not comfortable. Comprei um quarto com cama KING e não fiquei em um quarto assim. A localização do hotel é excelente mais o serviço do hotel deixou a desejar

El hotel tiene una buena ubicación en donde puedes hacer las comprar rápidamente por estar en el centro de todos los comercios.

La relación precio-valor excelente. El hotel tiene una ubicación muy conveniente bien para compras o para visitar los lugares interesantes de la ciudad, además la estación de taxis está muy próxima al hotel. Las condiciones generales del hotel son buenas, sin embargo hay algunas paredes con marcas de filtraciones de agua. Op loopafstand van de bezienswaardigheden van Willemstad, maar het hotel is een beetje aan slijtage onderhevig. Kamers heel eenvoudig, met aan airco die water op de vloer lekt, een tv met een beperkte en voor Europeanen niet erg interessante selectie aan kanalen en een ontbijt dat ook niet overhoudt. Eu apenas dormi, mas o hotel tem excelente custo-beneficio para quem precisa ficar poucos dias, pois a sua localização é muito próxima dos pontos turististicos de Punda e Otrobanda, podendo conhece-los a pé mesmo! Os funcionários do hotel são simpáticos e atenciosos, falam ingles e espanhol, além do papiamento! Este hotel es perfecto si lo que necesitas es bed and breakfast. Las camas son cómodas y el desayuno incluído es suficiente y sabroso. Estarás cerca de las principales tiendas. No tiene lujos pero es cómodo.

Wij waren maar voor één nacht op curacao.Na een verblijf op Bonaire wilde we nog één dag shoppen op Curacao voordat we weer terug vlogen naar NL. De ligging van het hotel is dan prima. Op zich zag het er ook prima uit. Alleen de airco staat wel erg koud. (we hebben hem uit gedaan s'nachts) Badstop ontbrak dus een bad nemen ging niet door. El Hotel San Marco esta muy bien ubicado, para realizar compras esta en el bolulevard en Punda, cerca de la parada de buses que llevan a las playas y cerca del puente para cruzar a otrabanda. De verdad me senti bastante a gusto en mi estadia en el hotel tanto por su ubicacion como por su atencion

Es un hotel muy ubicado, por fuera no es muy llamativo, pero por dentro es acogedor y lleno de detalles hermosos en cuanto a decoracion y mobiliaria. La atencion fue rapida y concreta, el desayuno generoso y de buen gusto, bajo en grasas. Nos ubicaron en una habitacion de camas gemelas, comoda con buen tv y como mi madre es una persona mayor, fue perfecta, […] ya que estaba muy cerca del comedor. Siempre tuvimos un servicio de limpieza impecable, quizas el unico detalle fue que no colocaron articulos de aseo personal y me hicieron falta. No tocaron jamas nada de las compras o equipaje y la ubicacion nos permitio movernos en buses para conocer toda la isla y luego de noche a los casinos de la ciudad. En fin, lo recomiendo ampliamente para pasar unos dias en la maravillosa isla de Curacao! Læs mere

The Hotel certainly is not a top one, but for someone looking for rather budget accommodation I would certainly recommend - everything was as expected.
