I really enjoyed my stay at the Porta Rossa. The rooms were c lean, roomy, and modern. While I found my first room very noisy (stay away from room 102) because of the street noise, the desk clerk, Laurent, was exceptionally accommodating in making a room change painless. The other desk clerks, Chiara and Manfredi, were even more helpful in assisting […] me with a problem regarding a tour agency. That was far beyond what was required from them, and I am forever grateful. The morning breakfast was also quite good. The wait staff was warm and friendly. So if you enjoy a clean, fashionable, friendly, convenient and safe experience, than the Porta Rossa is the place to stay. Thanks again to Laurent, Manfredi, and Chiara for their wonderful help. This is a lovely hotel in the centre of Florence so you can walk easily to all the sights. Well there is some street noise from the from of the hotel, but that's the only downside. The staff is very friendly and very service minded. Breakfast is perfect, so what's not to like...

This beautifulmold building has been cleverly and tastefully renovated and, though our room was pretty small, the bathroom was great and the public spaces were very pleasant. I don't usually write reviews on hotel websites, but my stay here was so great that I have to! I traveled to Italy with my boyfriend and we decided to "splurge" a little bit on our one night in Florence. It was definitely worth it. When we arrived at the NH Porta Rosa we were immediately upgraded to a suite. This was obviously a nice perk. The room […] was absolutely gorgeous! Everything was pristinely clean, the bed was very comfortable, the appliances were up to date and we had a lovely view of the street. The staff continuously went above and beyond to improve our stay. They were very helpful in booking tours for us and giving us directions to the various sights in Florence. The location of the hotel is fantastic! We were sadly only in Florence for a day in a half so it was very convenient that we were so close to all the major sites. It's literally a couple of blocks from the uffizi gallery and everything else is in easy walking distance, no more than 15 minutes! Lastly, the breakfast buffet was spot on. There was plenty of variety and it was all fresh. They even served champagne and mimosas, which we sadly couldn't indulge with since we had a big day ahead of us, but we thought it was a nice touch. All in all, i would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Florence. It is well worth the extra money to stay at a well managed and truly beautiful hotel! Læs mere

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. The location is great, close to all of the main sites and a good selection of restaurants. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The only significant negative was the noise level in the room which could make sleep difficult for anyone sensitive to this. I spent a few days at the Nh Porto rosso with a friend on a visit to Florence. This hotel mirrors this great city. Location was superb. One direction pointe vecchio, other direction uffizzi, and on the other side the duomo! All within 2 blocks. The decor of this hotel is so tasteful. Amis of the antics and the modern. Every amenity available. The room […] was beautiful and the bed and linens the finest. Breakfast included and fit for a king. Wonderful choices for this meal and in such a beautiful dining area. Stayed here for 3 nights on my honeymoon. Overall we really liked this hotel. The building was an older building, yet the rooms were extremely modern. It was almost loft like. Everything was extremely positive, especially the staff. We only had two negatives which I will point out: 1) My wife thought the hall smelled like Chinese food. Seems every […] NH we stay at has an odd smell in the hall. It didn't bother me. 2) We had a 2nd floor (American 1st) room overlooking via Porta Rossa. At night this street can get loud. Bars getting out, garbage collection, etc. It didn't bother my wife and I sleep with ear plugs so it didn't bother me either, however, if you're a light sleeper I'd request the other side. If your coming from America to visit this is the perfect hotel to stay in. Everyone will tell you how small the rooms are in Europe, bathrooms tight blah blah blah but I can honestly tell you...this is the best hotel for transition or lack there of. I didn't feel like we were missing anything at all. The hotel supplies more than an american hotel would […] in the room when it comes to bathroom essentials. The floors are all hardwood which really gives it a clean feeling and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel itself is clean and beautiful and located in a perfect area. Everything you need is either across the street or a few doors down. Train is an easy 10 minute walk. The common areas of the hotel are beautiful, from the front desk to the elevators to the breakfast every morning. Front desk help was awesome and not at all condisending if you needed help. I plan on visiting again in the near future and this will always be the hotel I stay in. If you looking for a hotel in Florence...look no further. You have found the very best at Porta Rossa. The best part of the hotel is the location. As were travelling with a baby, that was key for us. It is a five minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, Uffizi etc. Room was nice and clean and had lots of stuff for convenience - i.e. toiletries including a shaving kit and tooth brushes, a safe. There is no kettle in the room - although we didn't need one […] and didn't try asking. But the hotel service is fantastic, so I'm sure they would have provided on if asked. The TV has mostly italian channels - the two english channels were BBC world and CNBC. Free wifi access in the lobby was helpful. Læs mere

Hotel was a great location Lobby smelled a bit like sewage Room was clean but really noisy and I mean noisy - we did not get a good night sleep the entire 4 nights we spent there. Overall not really worth it. If you barely sleep at a hotel what is the point.

The hotel was so amazingly comfortable. The lobby had free wifi but you could also pay to get wifi in your room. My room was so beautiful, 20ft high ceilings, a large canopy bed, amazing steam shower. The first morning I went to take a shower and the shower was not draining so I called the front desk and they had someone up in my room in less than 5 […] minutes, problem fixed in less than 10. The location was perfect, walking distance from all the major sites in Florence. I would definitely stay in this hotel again. I hope all of the rooms were as nice as the one I got. Læs mere

we stayed here for 4 days in Sept. 2011 and like the hotel and the staff so much we booked NH hotels in Livorno and Amalfi and enjoyed them just as much.

I can only give praise for this hotel. Travel quite a bit and this hotel ranks in my top three for Italy. Next visit to Florence, this is where I will be. The front desk was incredibly helpful. Fantastic hotel at a great location. We travelled to a few different cities in the few weeks we were there on our honey and this hotel was the best. Amazing rooms and fantastic service.

Wonderful Hotel. BUT parking is very expensive at 25 euros per day.

Great location, great rooms and great service.

The concierge has great service and gave us good food recommendations. The breakfast served daily was also a good spread with sparkling wine! The street outside (a 2 min stroll) has nice street music performance every night. We truly enjoyed our stay in Florence partly because of the experience we had with NH Porta Rossa and its staff.

I have been to Florence 4times and this has by far been the best 4 star hotel ever. The staff is amazing especially Elisa, the location is great and it cant get any center than this, its very CLEAN, and up to date, breakfast is great, we cant say enough. Book your hotel for sure at Porta Rossa.

The perfect hotel for visiting Florence - about a 20 minute walk from the SMN railway station and a 10 minute stroll from the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio. Our room (411) was on the top floor with a view across the traditional red tiled roofscape to the Pitti Palace on the other side of the river. The room was large, modern and bright which contrasted nicely […] with the more traditional public areas of the hotel. WiFi access in the rooms is charged for but WiFi is available for free in the lobby and lounge areas. All the hotel staff were delightful and spoke good English – as did everyone that we met in Florence. Breakfast was superb, consisting of an extensive buffet of salmon, meats, cheeses and much more. The hot options were scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. Freshly squeezes orange juice was available on request and even a teapot for those who, like me, prefer not to have a teabag in their cup. Très bel hôtel à la décoration très soignée, les chambres sont très propres et confortables. Nous avons juste été génés par le bruit côté rue à cause d'une discothèque située en face de l'hôtel (Odéon). Demandez une chambre au calme et vous ne serez pas déçus!

Die Lage des Hotels ist im Zentrum, leider neben einer Discothek und Bar bis um 03.30 Uhr morgens ist ohne Ohrenstöpsel an Schlafen nicht zu denken.

Volvería, sin duda, por situación, comodidad, personal, la verdad muy bien. El defecto a mejorar es el desayuno, tardan en reponer, y un poco pobre para un NH.

Muito bem localizado, muito em ordem e com pessoal de atendimento de maior boa vontade e bom humor que vimos em toda Europa; frontdesk, limpeza e copa. Quartos amplos e confortáveis.

Apenas nao dou nota máxima em todos os quesitos porque pegamos uma época de muito frio e o banheiro tinha uma janela antiga enorme que permitia a passagem de frio. Entretanto, tirando esse detalhe, a hospedagem foi ótima e recomendo fortemente o NH Porta Rossa.
