Battlefield Inn - Springfield

There were no adults available when I checked in - I was greeted and checked in by 2 young children and they had troubles finding my reservation. In the morning I went to the office to express my disappointment about being served by children and the lady came up to the desk without any shoes on.

Hotel was not what I expected when I was booking the roomfor a weeks stay. Needed a refrigerator and microwave, had to ask for them, as they do not keep them in the rooms due to theft. I was traveling from Indiana and stopped in Springfield to stay at the Battlefield Inn, I am not a traveler with high expectations, I just need a warm bed to sleep in and a place for my pets. I arrived at 1:30 AM and had to ring a bell and stand outside while the clerk woke up and shuffled to the door, he seemed irritated (not my problem) when he gave […] me the paperwork to fill out there was a bold section the read NO PET POLICY ( when I booked online it said this was a pet friendly hotel) as it was 1:30 AM and I am 7 months pregnant I didn't have the energy to search for another hotel. When I went to the room it was freezing cold, I turned on the heater and nothing happend, I thought I would give it time to warm up, I curled into bed and nothing happened I laid in a little ball freezing..two hours later I decided I would rather sleep in my car, I left the hotel before 4 AM. The staff was very helpful and courteous and the reservation easy to make. The room was small and cramped with furniture, not well maintained, floors dirty and hvac fickle (we had difficulty balancing the drafted windows and heat). The bathroom tiny. There was no ice machine available and no wi-if service. Basic room, just seemed run-down.

The room selled like Mold with worpped floors for some kind of water damage. i stayed two days and the room was not cleaned. I also did not get clean towels. I will not say there again

No coffee maker, no fridge, no ice machine, cramped rooms, noisy window A/C, no thermostat, breakfast was coffee and honeybuns only - and that you had to get before 7 AM or it was all gone. Not impressive at all. Had to walk to office for ice. Internet worked well, though, if that makes the stay better for you.

Ice machine was broke and even though it was fairly clean did not have a comfortable feeling.

The bed was lopsided - had to hang on or fall off of the left side of king bed. The bathtub was filthy from backup of drain. They came & cleaned it but next morning took showers and were knee deep in water.
