Hotellet var pænt og i god stand. Personalet var imødekommende og hjælpsomme og rengøringen for det meste i top. Først blev vi tildelt et værelset i stueetagen, som kun havde et enkelt vindue og lugtede fælt af mug. Rigtig ærgerligt når vi netop havde bedt om et værelse med balkon på en af de højere beliggende etager. Derefter fik vi anvist et lidt […] mindre værelse med balkon på anden sal, som levede op til vores forventninger. Værelse, senge, badeværelse m.v. var i fin stand. Beliggenheden var rigtig god med 5 minutters gang til stranden og med udsigt over Avenida 10 fra balkonen (efter vi var flyttet op til anden sal). Til gengæld var der meget os fra biler og fra de omkringliggende restauranter, mens støjen fra barerne og diskotek "Coco Bongo" kunne holde de fleste vågne hver nat - vi var forberedte og havde medbragt ørepropper. Af ukendte årsager og uden varsel var hotellets festlokaler i tagetagen udlejet til en "special event" - vistnok en rigtig sjov privatfest med live salsaorkester, som sandsynligvis holdt en del hotelgæster vågne indtil kl. 3. Vi var nok særlig hårdt ramt, fordi vores værelse lå lige under festlokalerne, så vi ikke bare kunne høre musikken, men også de høje hæle mod gulvet. Morgenmaden blev serveret i den tilknyttede restaurant. Vi havde bestilt "komplet amerikansk morgenbord" alle dage, som viste sig at bestå af ristet brød med smør og marmelade, appelsinjuice, kaffe og en valgfri ret (amerikanske hot cakes, røræg med bacon, mexikansk røræg eller "rancheros"). Det smagte godt, og betjeningen var generelt god. Endelig skal det nævnes, at vores reservation ved ankomsten ikke lod til at blive genkendt af receptionisten. Hun måtte have en kopi af vores medbragte udskrift fra Hotels.com (en udskrift på dansk!) og overså ved denne lejlighed, at morgenmad var inkluderet. Hotellet ligger meget centralt, men alligevel meget roligt og med en skøn pool, hvor der er roligt og afslappende. Der er kun 5 min. gang til stranden og det vilde natteliv på 5th Avenue. Hotellets personale er meget smilende og hjælpsomme.

We love this hotel, I would give it higher marks than most Hiltons and Westin's we have stayed in. Great pool, restaurant and luxurious rooms. Close to beach and shopping. We felt very safe and welcome! We booked extra nights because we didn't want to leave.

Wonderful courtyard--good Mexican feel. Great staff--helpful and courteous. Good bed and pillows. Great location--close to the action but away from noise.

When we came we were taken to a room without balcony. We complained and finally got one with a balcony, but only a bit too small bed (instead of two)... And the (small) balcony had an 'open fence' and was facing a very noisy street and restaurant. And the door to the balcony was not tight, so the noise from the street was very disturbing. We had to […] buy 'ear-protection'. The air.conditioner was good. There was a safe, hair-dryer and a good TV. It took about 3-4 minutes before the hot-water appeared... There was no information in the room concerning times for meals or other services - or for use of the phone. Most of the hotel staff was friendly and smiling, the hotel is of good building quality, the pool in the beautiful yard is nice and the food was OK. New beach-towels every day we needed it and an access-card for the nearest beach, with service from Vicky beach-bar which had VERY good food and comfortable chairs! To get this access we had to buy food/beverages for at least 100 pesos pr. person. That's reasonable, we think. This beach is only two-three blocks away from the hotel, a nice walk to and fro. Very conveniently located, an easy walk to dining and shopping. Two short blocks to the beach and complimentary beach chairs at the beach was great. Small restaurant was good for convenient breakfast. Will likely stay again.

The serivce at this hotel was terrible. Any time you needed anything, the hotel had to call someone else to get it and it took forever to get it, IF you got it. We asked for towels twice and toilet paper once, we never got them. In fact when I needed bath towels because I had to use mine to clean the flood created from the drain in the floor in the […] bathroom (not the bathtub) they told me I had to wait for housekeeping to show up........as I stood there dripping with sweat from my morning run. I convinced them to give me beach towels. We asked for a drain plug so that I could take a bath........they couldn't find one. The battery died in the lock on one of our friend's rooms. It took forever for someone to get there to figure out what to do. When the hotel finally found the right person........they got into the room in 5 seconds through the window. So, I tried it on my room and got in through the window in 5 seconds! There is nothing that you can do to prevent this. Very unsafe and the hotel didn't seem to care when we expressed concern! The food was good and the hotel was pretty, but I don't think anything can make up for the lack of security since anyone can easily get in through your window at any time. Læs mere

We loved our room, the pool area, the delicious breakfast, and the ideal loation. It was difficult to leave! The only disappointment is that the front desk staff seemed unable to provide some basic tourist information and unwilling to seek answers to our questions. This was my third trip to Playa del Carmen, but a new visitor might need to search elsewhere […] for basic information. Nevertheless, I would stay at this hotel again. It is a beautiful property!!! Room is very quaint. The hotel has a lot of charm. It is in a perfect location for getting around, very convenient. Would stay there again.

Very nice updated hotel close to the beach and action on 5th. Everything was excellent and very reasonably priced.

I'm not sure why they did not have rooms for us saying that they were fixing the locks in the rooms despite having made the reservations months ahead. They tried to send us to another hotel of lesser quality in an area that was loud and only when we refused adamantly, did they finally give us rooms at the hotel. It was very upsetting since we had a […] baby and two elderly people with us. Once there, however, we had a great time at the hotel and the service was great. We stayed here for 13 nights and we were very pleased. Great standard in the hotelroom, 3 minutes walk from the beach and away from all the noise on 5.th Ave. 10. th Ave is both cheaper and less noisy. 2 huge beds and seperate bathroom and shower! Balcony with view against the street or pool. We recommend this hotell for everyone!

Can't argue with the location of the hotel, just one block away from all the 5th Avenue buzz, one block from Coco Bongo (nightclub) and with Oxxo nearby (mini-market). That would make a perfect choice if it wasn't for the cleaning less of the room. Not only it's dark to hide the various stains on the sheets but it smells like mold (I know, I know, it's […] a beach city, but still). Great location, nice decor, nice staff, very nice and inexpensive restaurant and bar( ask for the mango margaritas! and breakfast buffet was $11 usd for 2 with coffee and orange juice...very good). stayed 3 nights in this hotel. 5 minutes walk to a nice beach, and 2 minutes walk to 5th ave. the hotel is beautifull, check your room before you agree. we had to change 3 rooms before deciding.rooms are larger on the 1st floor. check in can be slow due to understaffed. if you get a room with balcony on the street, expect a late night noise the hotel […] is next to bars and restaurant. towels are old and no facial towel avaliable. nice pool, above all if you just need the room to sleep and spend the day at the beach and walking then this is perfect. The hotel is very nice. Beautiful courtyard, lobby and rooms. We booked 2 rooms asking for not groundfloor and a courtyard view. We got 1 courtyard view on the 1st floor and 1 room on the second floor alittle tucked away from the courtyard. We were staying 2 nights and thought the rooms would be fine.The first problem was the beds were hard. Second […] problem was the room on the 2nd floor at night. We could not sleep the bar across the street was so loud. We also asked for the information on the in room safe & never got it. We were told to get beach towels at the front desk and never got towels. The front desk employees just ignored us. If you don't mind firm beds and you can get a room off the street. +++ Beautiful room, nice pool, convenient location good price friendly staff, to improve: Correct the moldy smell in the room when we arrived (most likely due to poor air changing rate) and sound proofing of the suite door. If corrected could stay for extended period, otherwise one night or two max for us.

I got to the hotel at 11am and they gave me a room that had just been vacated by a guest. It was dirty, beds unmade. They told me they will have the room ready in 30 minutes. I returned 30 minutes later and they beds were made, but the sheets were the same because they were wrinkled and slept in. Room was not properly cleaned.

This hotel was amazing! We stayed at a different hotel in Playa del Carmen, but decided to extend our time in playa an additional night. That is when I found this on hotels.com and booked it. Wish we would have stayed here the entire time, but I did not see it when I originally booked our trip. An amazing value for a beautiful hotel. Great hotel and staff. I stay everytime I go to playa and its clean and comfortable. Near everything.

It was clean nice hotel and the price was nor so bad. breakfast was normal american. Restaurant group was nice but i expect buffee breakfast.

very good hotel for the price range..great location. deff rent a car so u can drive to the best beaches and many attractions ect. only down side was there reasetraunt. food was ok, service ok, value very poor. way better reasteraunts down the street

Very good hotel with friendly stuff. One side of hotel has neighbour building with bar inside so you listen a GREAT music from this bar till midnight. For us it wasn't problem but I suppose it is not suitable for travelers with children and aged people. If you're young and come to Playa del carmen for fun this hotel is your place 100%. We had been staying in a condo with friends but leaving a day later than the rest of the group. This hotel was more than sufficient for a one night stay before heading off to the airport. We stayed for 7 nights; and considered it great value for the money. Its a bit of a mixed bag of beans though; the house is lovely, the rooms are elegant and the beds winners. However, there's a fair few small details that could deter some; the tv didn't have a good picture, the in-room safe didn't work, the balcony door lock mechanism was broken. Highly recommended, would stay here again. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, prompt with requests. The pool is large, clean, good temperature. The rooms are emaculate (clean and comfortable). Close walking distance to the ADO bus station (which takes you to Cancun, the airport, etc for about $7). Right around the corner from 5th Ave for […] all the great restaurants and night life. A little noisy if your room faces the street but fun to people-watch on the balcony. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They told me where the best places I can eat economically and deliciously. They are also very eager to teach me Spanish : ) The room is very comfortable and clean. I will highly recommend to anyone who would like to stay there.

We stayed at The Hacienda the last week of August. The hotel is very pretty, and centrally located. Unfortunately that means you will not get much peace nor quite. Our room was located in the corner right next to the cleaning supply closet, so by about 9 am you could hear noise outside the door. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to the beach restaurants, clubs and supermarkets without the noise or the hassle of having to walk past people trying to sell you things all the time. You also feel safe around here. The staff are really friendly and happy to give advice on where to go out, where to eat to have authentic mexican food and where […] to have a good night out. Even though the pool is relatively small it is perfect for the hot weather and can be used for either relaxing or exercise. Maybe because it's mid-August and not high season, but we did not get any noise problems from the street like the other reviews. We stayed both on the 3rd floor with balcony view facing the street and also without any balcony view. The hotel staff was very nice, they spoke good enough english. the hotel was awesome, nice ,clean . i really liked the fact that it was close to the beach stores food shopping and clubs. every day the maids would clean the room and we had clean sheets every day . i loved the service ! i would definitely come again. these are the dates that we were here 5-13-tru 5/18/2011
