Et hotel er et hotel. Der er en seng, fjernsyn på værelset, pænt bad og toilet, venlig og imødekommende portier og tilhørende bar eller restaurant. Med andre ord man får det samme som på så godt som alle andre hoteller, så hvad er forskellen? Indrømmet jeg kan ikke sætte ord på det. Dette er på ingen måde en objektiv anmeldelse. Jeg har besøgt Aix-en-Provence ved flere lejligheder og sågar boet i byen et halvt år. Jeg har anvendt Hotel St. Christophe før og for mig er det bare hotellet jeg ønsker at bo på, når jeg besøger Aix. Alt andet ville være forkert. Jeg føler mig bare hjemme her. Jeg tror umiddelbart at det største trækplaster for mig er beliggenheden på Avenue Victor Hugo. Man kommer ikke til at bo mere centralt i Aix, med mindre man vælger et af de hoteller der ligger helt inde i den snørklede bymidte. Hotel St. Christophe ligger mindre end et stenkast fra Place de Charles de Gaule/La Rotonde og Cours Mirabeau, og mindre end to minutters gang fra den hyggelige og snørklede bymidte og det nye kommercielle handelsområde og turistkontor. Hotellet er let at komme til hvad enten man ankommer med tog, bus eller bil. Der er 3 minutters gang til stationen og 5 minutter til busterminalen og for bil folket har hotellet en garage (der stiller lidt krav til ens manøvre færdigheder). Betjeningen er meget imødekommende, smilende og gæstfri. Værelserne varriere en del i indretning og størrelse. Jeg boede selv i et af de billigeste og mindre værelser, men der var fin plads og rent og pænt. Der er fri Internet adgang, man skal blot hente en voucher i receptionen. Jeg vil ikke udtale mig om restauranten, da jeg ikke selv benyttede mig af den. Skal jeg bo på hotel i Aix, så er der bare ikke andre steder at bo. Rigtig godt ophold.

Hotel ligger fantastisk centralt. Vi var dog uheldige at få et af de 2 værelser på 5. sal og der er ikke ståhøjde. Nu skulle vi kun være der en nat, så det gik.

Dette hotel er ikke et luksushotel - til gengæld oser det af charme, og beliggenheden lige ud til Marseilles gamle havn fås ikke bedre. Det er absolut pengene værd at betale ekstra for et værelse med udsigt til havnen. Dog skal man vide, at der først er elevator fra 1. sal og opefter. Er man dårligt gående, bør man nok vælge et andet sted - ellers kan hotellet varmt anbefales!

The Holiday Inn Express is across the street from the main Marseille Train Station and is incredibly convenient to it especially if you have an early departure or late arrival. "Modern hotel convenient for the station"
This is the usual Holiday Inn Express - modern and clean with a reasonable breakfast. It is very conveniently located if you are travelling by train, being across the road from the main railway station. Not in the most interesting neighbourhood, but only 10 - 15 minutes walk from the Old Port and other sights. The rate includes a good breakfast - the […] usual cereals, cold meats, cheese, fruits yogurts etc, plus juices tea and coffee. If you need any more there is a supermarket next door (turn left out of hotels). Rooms are typical Holiday Inn Express - smallish but well serviced and adequate, with tea/coffee making facilities. We had a room at the back and it was very quiet considering the hotel location. Convenient location near the Gar & Metro. An additional 2 Euro/night charged as city tax. Breakfast satisfactory, but exactly the same every morning. Unsafe neighbourhood.

We stayed at this hotel in 2010, and thought it was so good that we stayed there again this year. The hotel is very convenient, being steps away from the train station. The receptionists, indeed all of the hotel staff, are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms are just the right size. Its location means that you get to see a little more of Marseille - you get to see local people, rather than simply tourists, which is great if you want to practice your French! From the hotel you can walk easily to Vieux Port, Cours Julien, Noailles, and Palais Longchamps.The only difference in our stay this year was that we didn't receive a little parting gift (a piece of the famous soap of the region) as we did last year, but this isn't important. This is my kind of place -- the room is snug with all the essentials, very efficient layout, you're not paying for more space than you need. Very clean everywhere (well, the stairwell is a bit dingier than the rest), and the staff were extremely nice and heplful. Nice breakfast buffet -- excellent croissants and good selection of teas. The Holiday Inn Express Saint Charles is just across the road from the TGV station and a short walk to the Vieux Port. Convenient location - right across from TGV / Metro station. The only improvement I wish to see in them is that either they should have more staff or more staff training for them to be able to multi task because they have a bar right next to the front desk which is supposedly open until 2:00 am but there was no one there to serve. We sat there for a […] long and no one attended us. Hotel is nice, room is large, bed is very comfortable but location is bad if you are in a romantic trip. At nigth it is dangerous to walk around the hotel.

The Holiday Inn St. Charles in Marseille is very conveniently located across the street from the main Railway Station (TGV), which as well houses a shuttle bus service for 8.5 Euros per journey to the Marseille Airport nearby, a 1/2 hour journey leaving every 20 minutes during the day. A great location for having arrived in Marseille late in the evening since it's situated right outside the St. Charles train station. If you need to catch the train early in the am, it's also an ideal choice. Breakfast was quite good with nice service and hotel was very clean. "Good hotel in a not so good town"
The town itself is not a destination town. The hotel made the stay a nice one. The staf fis exceptional, very friendly and helped us in every way.

The condition of the hotel is very good since it is so new. It's very clean and the size of the room is good. The staffs were all amazing and helpful. Breakfast was very good as well (juice, ham, yogurt, bread, fruits etc.). The best is its location - it is right across from the train station which was important to us since we took the train to other […] places a lot. It was about 20 to 30 mins walk to the main city center, which wasn't too bad. But there were some "strange" people at night so need to be careful with your wallet. One night, on the way to the groceries store, one guy said something to us on the street and we ignored him (I didn't understand him, I guess he was speaking to us in French and we don't speak French). He followed us for about 1 block and we quickly went into the groceries store as soon as we got there. "Clean and Efficient"
The hotel was clean and efficient with decent sized rooms. The location was convenient for the train station, however, that area of town is not great for a tourist. I had expected this so overall my opinion is very positive.

"Holiday Inn Express, Marseilles"
I would highly recommend this hotel. It's proximity to the Saint Charles train station was literally a hop, skip and jump across the road, so within minutes of arriving in Marseilles, we were freshening up in our lovely fresh hotel room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our luggage there after checking out.

hotel propre, personnel courtois et efficasse.Lumineux, petit dejeuné compris dans le prix.En revanche 12 euros le parking ce'est cher !
"Hotel de qualité dans environnement tristounet"
C'est un hôtel de très bonne qualité. Il est situé juste à côté de la gare Saint-Charles. On entend pas les trains, mais un peu les voitures (au 2° étage en tout cas). C'est un peu loin de coin plus sympa comme le vieux port 15-20 mn à pied, mais 5 mn en métro.

A proximité immédiate de la gare, et à 10 mn à pied du vieux port. L'environnement est un peu moyen, comme pour toutes les gares, mais sa situation était idéale pour une famille non véhiculée. L'hôtel est très bien, calme, et le personnel accueillant. Petit déj. sympa et copieux. À noter que pour une famille de 4 personnes (2 adultes et 2 enfants), […] nous avons eu une chambre double dans laquelle il y avait un grand lit et un canapé lit, d'où un côté exiguë non prévu...
