Hated it! Floors had red residue as if it was some type of crime screen. No wifi in mt section of the hotel and tv was old school with no HDTV and very limited channels

We stayed in a King Bedroom with a fireplace and hot tub. Nothing really special about the room. Like my husband said it's a cheap hotel with a hot tub in the room. There was a hair in the hot tub when we first came into the room and that was kind of gross. Upon checkout the lady was on the phone at the front desk and when I came up was kind of short […] with me. When the other person on the other end asked who was on the phone she said "Just a customer" and proceeded to talk on the phone for a couple more minutes. I thought that was kind of rude. The room was good and clean and quite. The continental breakfast was horrible. The coffe was literaly undrinkable. The english muffins were soggy. The OJ was watered down.

The pillows smelled, the door to our room looked like someone had try to kick it in, you could see through the door lock framing to outside, the carpet was old, framing in the room was old and scratched up, blankets and comforter I didn't even want to use, hard boiled eggs at breakfast you saw people just throwing them away, dog potty area was hard […] to walk through for there was so much poop everywhere. They apologized at the desk when I told them and the lady before me who had stayed in 214 was giving her long list of fixes that needed to be done to the room and said the room smelled horrible. The Clerk at the desk told me as I left, well looks like the maintenance team is going to be busy today. Was not worth at all what I payed. Læs mere

We initially got on the wrong side of 97th while arriving very late at night. We had been driving for five hours and were tired and just wanted to find our hotel and go to sleep, so the fact that the hotel staff was so pleasant and told us not to worry, that he'd hold our reservation, was just what I needed to hear. He was also incredibly understanding […] and helpful at guiding us back on track so we could find our hotel. The hotel was in a very convenient location for making business trips between Hillsboro, Tigard, Gresham, and Downtown Portland and located next to a fun German Restaurant. However, being right next to I-5 made it noisy, and we did't find the bedding very comfortable, so we unfortunately ended up feeling unrested for several nights in a row. In addition, for even the great price I had hoped that there would be a refrigerator in our room, so that was a disappointment as well. Overall, we would probably look for another hotel next time we come to Portland, to ensure that we get some decent rest. Læs mere

i thought the stay was average at best. The first morning of Breakfast, Saturday, it appeared that a homeless vagabond had taken up court in the dining area to enjoy a free meal. Later that night, there was a transient digging through the garbage in the laundry room. Finally, Sunday morning at the pool, it appeared that a predatory house-less person […] was lounging pool side and hitting himself with a hairbrush. Very classy. The motel itself was in some sort of disrepair, with stains on the carpet in our room, cigarette burns on our sheets, and paint that didn't match on the exterior of the rooms. Læs mere

Good location to all that I needed. Bed had a mattress just like home, firm!But...the freeway noise it loud, so loud that I wouldn't stay here again. The condition of my room was a little run down, a spot on the carpet, grouting work needing attention in the bathroom, etc.

Was an older hotel but it was very clean and the personal were polite and fast. Very close to the 205 freeway so you could hear traffic all night but we enjoyed our stay.

Very noisy freeway traffic,thin window, I'm not completely sure that one can or should have their bathroom sink,coffee maker, ice bucket and condiments all within inches of each other on the sink space next to the commode but it could be convenient to make coffee if you trust there is no splash over. I booked this night for my husband and I and when we arrived there were a pair of dirty men's underwear left right outside of our door. Then when we went to get in bed, we found a black sock (not ours) IN our bed!!!!!! Ack!!!!! The next morning the housekeeping came by twice before checkout and when we left, the dirty underwear were still there!!!! […] (the housekeeper walked by it at least twice and didn't get rid of them!!!). Excellent light continental breakfast in a clean breakfast room. We were there during cold weather and the doors were drafty on the bottom when the wind blew. A refrigerator would have been nice. Clean, professional staff. Handicapped access was difficult.

Clackamas HoJo (Sunnyside Inn on the sign) was your typical hotel. Staff was very friendly. The only time you interacted with them is when you checked in or if you needed their services (just like you'd want it) The major things that stand about the Clackamas Howard Johnson are: 1.) Right across the highway from Clackamas Town Center (which means its […] just minutes from shopping and endless restaurants) 2.) Only 10-15 min away from the city (Portland) 3.) If you are not wanting to travel less than a few feet away from your hotel room door for food there is Gustav's (German food) or if you needed some extra room amenities their is a 76 station only a few yards away. 4. They only give you three mini pillows and most of all, if you have dogs, they have a dog area but it is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Poop is everywhere. You can't take a step without stepping in it. People are supposed to clean up after their pets but they obviously don't and the hotel allowing the pet area to get so disgusting only leads to even more people […] not cleaning up after there pets. It was really so gross, it was unsanitary. Our dogs didn't even want to leave the sidewalk there was so much dog poop everywhere. Læs mere

We were looking for a specific location near the German restaurant so this was perfect. We have stayed in Clackamas many times but this was our first time at the Howard Johnson. The breakfast had many options but the hotel is HUGE and the breakfast room was tiny. People were polite and sharing tables though.

Great location, not far from the activities we had planned and lots of choices for places to eat. The pool area was clean and in good condition. The rooms were nothing special, but all we needed was a place to stay and it was perfect, especially for the rate we got! The girls at the front desk were helpful, the breakfast was not that great and the neighborhood […] was a lot better than a lot of others in Portland. The only complaint I have is with Expedia. We specifically wrote, in the special request box, that we wanted a microwave and fridge included in our room and Expedia apparently did not pass along that information. (This has actually happened twice now) I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for something inexpenisive, clean and very basic. Læs mere

The location by Clackamas Mall and Clackamas Promenade was excellent. There were also good restaurants at the two mall locations which are across the street from each other. The room was adequate as it is very noisy next to the freeway and the noise woke us early each morning, The mattresses are new and good to sleep on but the pillows are small and […] very high and not too comfortable. Regular bed pillows would be better. There is no door to the bathroom just one for the toilet so that was awkward with one teenaged boy and one teenaged girl in the same room. We were given lots of towels when needed and there was no problem getting extra toiletries from the front desk. Breakfast was good - hard boiled eggs, cereals, waffles, pastries, breads, fruit and a variety of drinks. Our children used the pool and liked it. We would stay there again because of the location and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Two unpleasant events were being sent to a room that had not been cleaned and it really had been left in a mess. There were also a couple of people hanging around the lobby waiting for a taxi and they were not staying at the hotel and didn't give us a comfortable feeling. Læs mere

Couldn't be a better location. Close to airport, large mall and grocery store. Also only 1 1/2 hours to beach or Mt. Hood. Good rates, nice breakfast, friendly personnel.

HOward Johnson's was selected for its proxim ity to a convention. It was east to find and had easy access. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean. The only problem was that that the hotel key magnetic strip tended to "demagnatize" easily and you had to recard it.

Extremely noisy and the fan is also too loud to try and cover the freeway noise. The lawns were dreadful looking and landscaping was the worst. Your confirmation said there was no wi-fi, so we did not bring our computer and when leaving we are told you have it??? And you charge $20.00 for our tiny little dog? I did not like this motel when it was a "Best Western",but thought we would give it a try as "Howard Johnson". Seems like the only thing that has changed is "The Name". It started with having to wait to be checked-in (15 min.) because the person in front of me did not have enough gift cards to pay for the room. There were no other guest waiting and […] there was 2 front desk clerks on duty. The rooms were equivalent to "Motel 6". There continental breakfast was sorely lacking. They did not even have hot water for thier packaged cocoa. The location is nice, but I will opt to pay a higher fee or drive a little further ,than have to stay here again. Læs mere

Clean, affordable room, well maintained facility. Continental breakfast has minimal selection with no fresh fruit, but with savings over other lodging choices in the vicinity you can go out to breakfast and keep some change.

I chose this hotel because it was very economical - so I wasn't expecting the Ritz. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The first room we checked in to was grungy and smelled of smoke, even though it is a non-smoking hotel. The carpet was buckled and the bathroom tile damaged. They switched us to another room right away and it was fine - although […] the vanity lights were bare flourescent bulbs. There is quite a bit of freeway noise. It is right off the freeway. Quite loud at the pool. There is very little traffic noise in the room. Free breakfast was good. Staff was very helpful with local area directions.

Very long wait to get into my room with no where to go. I also got locked out of my room for 1/2 hour becuase none of the keys worked - not even the master key - which caused a delay in me getting ready to go to the wedding

Clean enough. Dog area was un tidy, previous guests must not have signed the sheet promising to pick up aftr their pet. Pet area fence had some huge gaps, so i kept my dog on a leash.
