Vi havde 5 pragtfulde dage på Phuket A Vista. Værelser, swimming pools og liggestole var helt i top. Enest små minusser var at vi først kunne få vrelset kl. 17 om eftermiddagen og at der er en rimelig stor bakke op til hotellet

Godt hotel med gode store værelser. Vi boede i et Grand deluxe værelse med en king size og en queen size seng. Der er gode faceliteter i værelset med stort køleskab og Micro ovn og service mm. til fire personer. Der er to gode svimmings pools. Den eneste minus er der ikke er mange liggestole og der bliver hurtigt skygge pga. hotellet. Hvis man skal […] på toilettet ved poolen, skal man gå gennem resturanten og ned i kælderen hvor toiletterne til gengæld er flotte og rengjorte hele dagen. Hotellet er beliggende oppe af en meget stejl bakke, dette er ikke noget problem efter de første par gange op og ned, men man kan også tage en Tuk Tuk for ca 20 kr. Hotellet er i gå afstand til det meste og man kan gå til Kate strand på under fem minutter og til Karon stranden på ti minutter. Alt i alt et godt hotel som man godt vil vende tilbage til. Læs mere

Vi tilbragte i november 2012 4 nætter på Avista. Værelserne er af virkelig høj standard og gran deluxe værelserne er perfekte til 2 voksne og 2 mindre børn. Der findes en bemandet børneklub på hotellet, hvor vores unger på hvv. 2 og 4 nød at tilbringe et par timer hver eftermiddag ( sammen med forældrene). Selve hotellet har en meget moderne stil og […] knap så meget charme som andre hoteller i Thailand af samme standard. Og det samme gjorde sig desværre gældende mht. Serviceniveauet. Personalet havde en ( i Thailand) sjælden distanceret holdning til gæsterne og man oplevede på ingen måde den overvældende gæstfrihed og uovertrufne servicemindedhed som man eller møder andre steder i Thailand. Især i restauranten oplevede man slet ikke den opmærksomhed som man må forvente, og modtager på andre hoteller i Thailand. Mht beliggenheden så, ligger hotellet på en meget stejl vej. Det gør at der ikke er støj fra byen men omvendt skal man forcere en noget stejl bakke hver gang man skal ned til byen og hjem igen. Vi ville ikke vælge dette hotel igen, da Thailand for os er = uovertruffen service og hoteller med Thailandsk arkitektur og charme. Og det fandt vi ikke på Avista. Dermed ikke sagt at hotellet ikke har en høj standard, for det har det bestemt. Det er bare meget futorisrik i stilen og servicen er meget reserveret. Læs mere

Min kæreste og jeg havde 5 overnatninger på dette skønne hotel. Personalet er meget imødekommende og forstår engelsk. Værelset vi boede på var stort og havde havudsigt med dejlig terrese. Der er en god restaurent, som også serverer en dejlig mogenmad. Lækker pool og her var servicen også god. Hotellet ligger på en bakke og skal man op og ned er der […] en lidt stejl vej man går ad. Det er ikke noget problem for raske folk:) Har man klapvogn eller barnevogn med, er det nok en ret hård tur op. Afstanden til stranden er en kort 5 minutters tur, stranden er skøn, der er ikke for mange mennesker og der er mulighed for at købe mad og drikke. Vi kan varmt anbefale dette hotel og området er også meget behageligt, hvis man er til afslapning og gerne vil undgå alt for meget party... Læs mere

Vi tilbragte 7 nætter på Avista. Rigtig dejligt sted med fantastisk imødekommende og altid hjælpsomt personale. Dejlige værelser med havkig og udsigt over poolområderne. Restauranten på hotellet laver rigtig god mad til priser lidt over de billigste i byen, men morgenmaden har meget fokus på vesteuropæisk varm morgenmad, hvilket jeg personligt ikke […] fandt så lækkert. Dejligt hotel med skønne store værelser og pragtfuld morgenkomplet. Fin afstand til strand og byliv, dog skal man ikke vælge hotellet såfremt man er gangbesværet, da vejen op til hotellet er stejl. Personalet er utrolig service orienteret.

Room is new but hotel location not convenience, there is no public bus to or from airport and downtown, usually taxi don't go this hotel, and taxi is very expensive because it controled by local people.

Good hotel, mostly courteous staff n very helpful manager (except hotel van drivers- extremely rude), good location near market n beach. However the taxi thugs right outside the hotel are a nightmare. You just cannot hire a taxi/van/tuk tuk except from them! If you do, they turn abusive n vulgar n threaten/ rough up the drivers of other companies. Even […] the hotel staff is scared of them n perhaps even working for them discreetly! Avista is a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. We had a great room and a great experience. It was clean and the room is quite big. Great breakfast too! Nice pool!

Lovely room interiors however our balcony looked onto a wall with no direct daylight. Whilst this may have been reflected in the hotel.com special price, it would have helped managed my expectations a little. This was the last hotel we stayed in our 16 day trip through Thailand, and it was good, but one of our least favorite compared to the rest, mainly because of Phuket itself. The hotel was clean, nice, had a very friendly and efficient staff, good service, and a great pool. So for the purpose of staying in Kata Beach it was good. However, it was on a […] large hill that made getting back and forth to it inconvenient, the surrounding area was a bit run down and certainly nothing interesting or special, and Kata Beach disappointed us, mainly due to the large crowd, but also from its aesthetics. We were very happy that we had only planned one day there. Compared to the hotels, costs, and surrounding environments in Ao Nang and Railay Beach in Krabi, Ko Phi Phi, and Phang Nga just one hour north of Phuket, this hotel and location didn't compare. A great place to stay. The room is large and comfortable. The staff is very nice. The taxi outside hotel is too expensive. But you can find others down the hill.

This hotel would have to be one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Only criticism I can make is that the wireless Internet wasn't very good. Other than that everything else was fantastic.

It was a lovely hotel to stay in. The rooms were great and well equipped and everything looked exactly like the pictures. The hotel staff were always more then happy to help with anything we needed. We had some problems with noises from the room above which was keeping us up. The next morning they happily moved us to a top floor grande deluxe ocean […] view room. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of variety although the lunch and dinner menu was average. Eating out is a lot cheaper and obviously you have more variety as there are a lot of places to eat close by. The area seemed great for families with younger kids, not to much hustle & bustle at night but it was well located for everything you need. The hotel was well located with only a short trip to most places. The hill everyone mentions was a bit of an inconvenience on a hot day after a long day out but would only really be a problem for people with less mobility. Overall it was a great hotel and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family as a great place to stay for a nice relaxing time with close access for the fun stuff. Læs mere

Nice and clean, good pool. You'll get lost in the bed, it's so big. The evening buffet was great for the price but is only put on twice a week. Our only problem was the transport to other places. Taxis cost $13-$15 to Patong which isn't far. We stayed there for 11 nights. Breakfast is good with a large buffet. The hotel has a 14 seater shuttle bus which […] runs twice a day to Patong but which we found fully booked on some occasions. There is no public transport from Kata beach to Patong so be prepared to spend a fair bit of money on if you have to go to Patong like we did. We ended up hiring a scooter for $7/day which is great if you're prepared to take the risk. Petrol sold on the side of the road in bottles will cost about $2/ltr. Found riding around quite easy with no road raging like you get in Australia. Læs mere

Very happy with all aspects of hotel. Beautiful roomy standard rooms - clean, modern. Breakfast was varied and vast. Service was friendly and polite. Would rate this very cloooooose to 5 star resort.

Fantastic room, would reccomend for both couples and families. Staff were very friendly, they allowed us to have a late check out for around AUD40, we got to stay in the room until 7PM as we had a really late flight. The hotel was exactly as was pictured. It wasnt too big with hundreds of rooms and huge grounds to wander - it was more intimate. The Avista Club room was lovely and spacious, the pools comforatable, the upkeep great. The staff very friendly however not all speak enough english and can cause some barriers at time. The hotel is at the top of hill and on hot days, weary from shopping is rather a turn off. Would not recommend if have mobility issues - need to take tuk tuk and that can get expensive. Thumbs Up! We had a wonderful stay here, room was clean spacious and comfortable. The staff were so so nice and friendly. Only downside was there is a hill to climb to get to hotel. Taxi, Tuk Tuk or scooter, which was fantastic experience for two 59 year olds! Great hotel.

Taxi and tuk tuk out the front is the only downside, charge more than normal, but still cheaper transport in comparison to Australia. From the minuite we arrived at the hotel all the staff were extremely helpful and attentive l excellent service. Location is good only a few minutes to beach and town. We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and the hotel left a cake, bottle of champers and flowers on the bed - a lovely surprise. Would definetly go back to Avista.

Great family hotel at Kata beach. Good service. Good kids club. Nice pool and wonderful breakfast. Free Wifi. Close to beach. Plenty of restaurants down at the main streets. Challenging climb up a steep hill. Nearby taxi are not cheap.

My family loved every minute of our stay at Avista. We are already planning to come back next year, as long as the price stays competitive ?? Maybe the Hotel shuttle bus could run a little more often, as the cab fares start to build up after a while, but overall it is a Fantastic Hotel.

The hotel is located at the top of a fairly steep hill and that may be a problem for the less fit! It is used by a lot of families and therefore at certain times there are a lot of children onsite. Positives about the Avista, great staff faultless actually, nice pools, excellent breakfasts, very comfortable room, pleasant view of the sea. Negatives […] are all minor things, an empty restaurant in the evening, we felt they needed to try and get some ambiance or modify the menu to attract people to eat an evening meal onsite. The library had limited English titles, the games room equipment was suffering from young children not being supervised. Thats a parental thing but some of the equipment was left unfit for use on a couple of the days. The biggest gripe would be the taxi service to the airport, going rate in town 750-800Baht, 1200 Baht from the taxis outside the hotel. When we asked town taxis to pick us up they said they could not pick up from Avista. As it was impractical to drag bags down the steep hill you just pay, in the overall scheme of things its not the end of the world but the principal of it is not good. Sometimes not easy to get a computer due to children having access to all computers and playing games. I suggested they keep the two in the library child free as this would keep them more accessible for bookings, work etc, (grown up stuff)! To sum up would I go again; if going to Kata yes, would I recommend it to friends yes, did we have a great time definitely. Læs mere

This hotel works hard to make your stay enjoyable and the grand deluxe room facilities were exceptional. We had a garden view room which worked out really well as the balcony was quiet and relaxing. We didn't find the hill a problem and loved the nearby beach. The location was also great for nearby eating and shopping and there were plenty of good quality […] restaurants. The only small drawback was that the hotel restaurant couldn't seat us for breakfast one morning and we had to wait 10 minutes for a table to become available. However, the breakfast choice was the best of all the 4-star hotels we stayed in during our trip and the staff were excellent at keeping the tables cleared and the food replenished. The gym was air conditioned with free water and plenty of towels, but the range of equipment was limited so stay away at popular times. Læs mere

A modern clean hotel with good facilities. Our room was lovely and clean at the back of the hotel which suited us as it was nice and quiet. The kids enjoyed the pools. choice of 3. The breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice and beautiful food. The staff were very helpfu and friendly. The hotel was at the top of hill and was nice and quiet away from […] the main shops of Kata Beach, only a short walk down the hill and round the corner to the beach, 10 minutes to the main restaurant area. We caught a free shuttle to Patong one day. The only improvement could be a more regular shuttle service to and from the beach particularly if you had small children. You are made to feel welcome right from the start and not just another guest. My Mother was taken to hospital and the hotel supplied flowers and fruit while she was in there. They were very friendly and informative. I give them an 11 out of 10. They could not improve. We wished we did not move to other hotels in Thailand and just stay there.

This is a great hotel for rest and relaxation. We stayed only one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Very clean rooms and adequate amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely book this hotel again when in Thailand.

The property is well maintained. The service and food at hotel was very good. We booked Club room which is huge and has great glass wash room. The only issue I found is traveling up the hill which is quite steep. But overall nice resort.

First off, this hotel is atop a pretty large hill. You will have to walk at about a 75 degree angle for about 10 minutes if you don't take taxis. The service was good from a roomservice prospective but the service in the lobby is frustrating with constant offers and poor english. The rooms are very nice and modern and have a good overall flow.
