Art Series - The Cullen - Prahran

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Service was great and location is also very good. Opposite Prahran market and near Chapel Street.

This was a very modern and clean hotel, funnily enough the house keeping staff where far more friendly than the administration staff. My only negative comments would be there where no menus to order food from the restaurants below and the most relevant to my stay is that the housekeeping was done far too late in the day. Coming back from a long day […] at work at 500 and finding the room not seen to and then not restocked with the bathroom essential was a pain, especially as one had to travel light and used the bathroom essentials! But I will be staying here for future stays and will ensure I advice the staff when I'm returning So my room can be seen to. Læs mere

I loved this Hotel, staff were great and very accommodating. Very Close the Chapel Street and both restaurants had excellent food. I have already recommended this Hotel to my friends and I will be staying there next time I am in Melbourne. BB

Great hotel, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly positioned near Chapel St shopping mecca, we found this hotel a joy. Great design unintrusive staff and wiz fiz in the mini bar!

My daughter and I stayed there for 4 nights, I am from Brisbane, she from Melbourne. We were upgraded from a twin room to a room with 2 queen size beds, massive room! The room had wow factor and very comfortable with great facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is in a great area for eating and shopping. The hotel was beyond my expectations! It's always a difficult thing to book a hotel without knowing anything about the area or hotel itself. I was so pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It is my taste exactly! Very modern yet very comfortable. Incredible staff, housekeeping a dream! The area was perfect, everything within walking distance. Downtown […] a 10 minute tram ride. We stayed for four nights on the 5th floor overlooking Grattan St. The room was nicely presented although it was hard to use the table as it was over in the corner of the room. Some small room maintenance issues- the curtain track kept sticking so we couldnt close the main curtain only the blind. Each day we were given fewer facecloths until by the […] last day there were none left in the room. I couldnt be bothered waiting around for a house keeping response so probably our fault for not pointing it out- but my feeling is there should be a checklist for rooms as they are cleaned each day. The front desk were perfunctory- seemed to be more interested in talking to each other than in greeting guests in the lobby. I dont think that the high art equates to better quality service- so more work needs to be done here if it is to be a 4 or 5 star hotel. We used each of the restaurants- the Terrace was the better food and service experience on two separate occasions. The Dumpling restaurant was ok - great food -once we got a seat, the older maitre'd was a bit rushed and brusque and left us feeling that we were a nuisance in his day. Læs mere

Good hotel. Would definitely stay again.

This is a great funky comfortable hotel. The rooms are lovely and our Christmas day breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Fabulous visual art books in the rooms and Cullen's work is great. My only word of warning is that the frosted glass "box" bathrooms whilst looking great are quite intimate from the outside. Great location, very cool art work, good service, very comfortable, and all the amenities you need.

The Cullen is a beautiful, nice, new hotel in a great location. However, the staff and hotel needs to get its act together. We spent over 2 hours trying to get internet to work with assistance from 3different people from hotel and never could get it to work. Our room on check in had not been vacumed and had hairs everywhere. When the room was cleaned, […] the bar was not serviced. The front desk gave us directions for tram use and was completely wrong. Although nice, I would not recommend this hotel based on frustrations with simple standards and staff communications. Læs mere

Beautiful hotel in very trendy location. Reminds me of upscale Greenwich village area. I recommend a nearby restaurant called "Fog". It was wonderful.

Just a few words to say that we really enjoyed our stayed at the Cullen and if I was to compare accomodation and service at the Hyatt Melbourne with Cullen, the rooms are as good if not better and the service much better.Now we know where to go for top class accomodation and service. Also we found that the staff were very friendly and helpfull.

With a suburban location and a talented, raw and colorful Australian artist-inspired theme, this hotel is just what I wanted in a "something different" boutique hotel. I was there on business with a little pleasure mixed in and the staff was great! Nice efficiency rooms and cool decor. My only complaint is the lack of coffee for the early-riser bus […] inessman.
