Comfort Inn Downtown - Salt Lake City

Good price for downtown location; room is big with a desk and chair and lounge chair. Clean room, friendly staff, business center and breakfast in the morning.

The staff was very friendly. Insisted on sending a technician when we asked about temp. in room. Technician made adjustment and we were very comfortable after that. Hot tub was not working and we were sad about that but clerk foretold me that when I made my reservation. Breakfast guy was very polite and helpful - also the guy that came by and confirmed […] we were checking out late was courteous. A suggestion would be to offer breakfast at least til 10 am on weekends. We enjoyed our stay. Next time, hopefully you'll have your hot tub fixed:) Læs mere

The king size foam bed was awesome but the Buffett breakfast was really only a contenental breakfast with a fancy name. Front desk was very friendly and helpful.

My friends and I all booked hotel rooms here and we all said we would again. The rooms were huge! The customer service was great. Despite the fact it says "breakfast not included " it actually is. Stay here ... you will love it!

I was attending a conference at the Salt Palace and I thought the Comfort Inn would be a good deal. Unfortunately this Comfort Inn is far below other Comfort Inns that I have stayed at. Despite a nonsmoking reservation, they put us in a smoking room (it had an ashtray) that had a foul reek of stale smoke. We could not change the room since everything […] had been booked up for the conference, so we just had to put up with it. The bathroom sink had no water pressure, and the tub was very slow draining. On the first night, the heat didn't work. I can say that the staff dealt with some problems efficiently - they fixed the heat and the tub. The room was clean enough. The free breakfast was quite good, considering that it was free. The hotel is convenient to the conference center - about a 10-15 minute walk. There was free parking at the hotel. However, putting nonsmokers in a smoking room is unacceptable. If they do not have enough nonsmoking rooms available they should give you the option to not accept the reservation. Despite good experiences at other Comfort Inns I strongly advise against staying at this one unless you are already a smoker. Læs mere

Centrally located to music venues. Comfortable and not very noisey even though its on a main street. Will definately stay there again!

There is nothing good to say about this hotel. It is not because of the issues with the hotel keys, the replacement keys, the lacking tv remote. But wait, why did we need that, because the tv didn't work anyway. They finally changed our room. But then in our new room, the internet didn't work, and it wasn't set up secure. But, the biggest problem with […] this hotel was the woman working the front desk. She was rude, and uninformed. She didn't even understand how internet worked in the rooms. Our check in clerk was extremely friendly, he was also helpful with directions to the places we wanted to go to. Breakfast was really good in the morning at the hotel with a great view of the area.

Very nice room for the price in the middle of downtown SLC. We stayed at the Sheraton directly across the night before for twice as much. The Sheraton had a much nicer lobby with a bar and a Starbucks, but it definitely wasn't worth the extra money. Save yourself the money and stay here. Very comfortable room and bed. Lots of space both in the bedroom and bathroom. Nice shower! Also, the breakfast was excellent. The staff was nice and helpful. Relatively convenient location for downtown cultural events and nightlife. TV channel selection is limited. Other than that, this is a great place to stay. We will definitely repeat.

This is a nice older hotel, well worth the price. The Breakfast was good, we enjoyed the hot tub in January and the room was great! The only issue we had was the checking out staff was very rude and inconsiderate of our feelings. She constantly made fun of our name as she was checking us out. This is a great stay... right down town. Within blocks of everything from a Walmart to The LDS Temple Square. Great restaurants - wonderful shopping areas all literally a few blocks away. We're so glad we stayed. By the way - the breakfast was delicious and the rooms were huge! The bed was comfy and the frig and microwave came in very handy. RECOMMEDED […] highly!! Læs mere

It was a nice hotel. Easy walking distance to bars and a mall as well as the train system that takes you all over town. Hot tub had an outdoor fireplace nearby as well. Could probably hold about 10. The doors to the outside weren't working quite right while we were there, so many times they were propped open. No problems with our room key or door though. […] We stayed out late, so we thought that housekeeping came early (8:30-9am). It only took 1 night of that to put our "do not disturb" sign out and we had no problems afterwards. Overall, a fine hotel for the price, and SLC is pretty cool. Læs mere

Eh - not the best place I've stayed. The staff was friendly, but there were problems. The thermostat did not seem to respond to our programming (we did not complain to mgt, so don't know what they might have done), and Housekeeping COMPLETELY SKIPPED our first day of the stay. The breakfast was unimpressive but adequate, except they never got in any […] decaf tea, even after the mgt knew they were out. Upon check-out, I would have asked for a lttle compensation regarding Housekeeping, but my husband was too shy to mention it at that time. Beautiful hotel, center of Salt Lake City. Hotel has some electrical problems though.

The other reviews on the site were lukewarm towards this hotel, but we had a great experience, particularly given the price. We came into town for a football game at Rice-Eccles Stadium (University of Utah). It's very close to the freeway, allowing for easy access both on and off. It's also within a block of the light rail system, allowing for easy […] movement around the city on mass transit. Traveling to the game was a snap. The hotel's location right next to the city core is also very convenient; you're getting downtown location without downtown prices. The staff was courteous and sociable, and the continental breakfast exceeded expectations as well. I know where I'm staying at the next time we come to Salt Lake City. Læs mere

There was no water pressure. They are a water saving device on the shower head, and it resulted in virtually no water pressure.

The heating/air conditioning unit was extremely loud and the the thermostat wasnt working properly either. The unit ran all night long instead of shutting off when it reached the proper temperature. Maybe it was just an isolated incident for my room. Otherwise, the room was ok and comparible to other hotel chain rooms in that price range.

This hotel had a very helpful staff, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. The jacuzzi area is private, with no pool which as a childless adult I thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast area has great food and is in a well lit spacious breakfast nook. A+ and would definitely stay again!

I was actually very surprised. Based on the price of the hotel I figured I was in for a rough few nights. But it was very, very clean in the lobby and the staff is totally friendly and helpful. A couple of complaints is that the room (which was non-smoking) sure smelled like smoke a lot. Also the wireless internet would go down over and over. But over […] all, the housekeeping was awesome, they have a fun breakfast area and it is easy to get to public transportation, restaurants and the freeway. I would definitely stay there again. The location is great - near Temple Square and freeway, but I didn't feel it was very clean...The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke and cleaning supplies - yuck. Our "non-smoking" room had two cigarette burns in the bedspread. The carpet in front of the sink had a huge black spot, and I mean BLACK - like tar or something. I expected more for the price […] we paid...it was General Conference weekend and the BYU vs. Utah State game, so prices went up. Would not stay there again. Læs mere

Nice but not spectacular Comfort Inn. The room was spacious and clean. Great location clustered amongst a bunch of other hotels and about a block or so from the public transportation.

the staff was very friendly, the beds were heavenly and everything was very clean. Breakfast was adequate and included make your own waffles, biscuits and gravy one day and omelets and sausage the next as well as juice cereal coffee pastries, and more.

Judging the style and the condition, the hotel must have been built some years ago, so it could use some updates. It has obviously been rebranded to Comfort Inn, so the "Year Built - 2009" is somehow misleading. But it's still a nice place to stay. The Spa was out of order the first evening, but "lo and behold" it was working again the two other days […] we were staying there. Læs mere

Excellent facility right in the heart of downtown SLC. Easy access to and from the hotel. Clean comfortable room with and great rate.

The room was very clean and very quiet. The beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the staff was very helpful and considerate. I would choose this hotel again.

One reason I chose this hotel because it had a spa hot tub and it was "out of order." I inquired when it would be working again and they said, "not for a long time." The hot tub actually worked; there was a problem with the door to the hot tub area and it was a safety hazard and in violation to code.
