Hotellet har en helt fantastisk sea food restaurant. Personalet et meget hjælpsom med skrive addresser m.v på kinesisk, så Taxi driveren kan forstå, hvor du skal hen.Value for money

Arriving in the middle of the night due to a delayed domestic flight we just wanted to get some sleep. Apparently that was also the case for the front desk attendant. The bellboy basically told us to leave, and the attendant was obviously annoyed to be woken up and having to check us in. This is really not the kind of welcome you expect at all - not […] the least when you HAVE a reservation. Breakfast ended at 9:30 am but when we came down at 9 it was almost impossible to get food or service. For our entire stay of four nights we had to ask for glasses, cups and table cleaning every single morning. Nothing happened on its own. We wanted the front desk to help us buy train tickets. They informed us that they would arrange it for us. However, when we came back late in the evening they hadn't bought the tickets for us. They said they were sold out. Again the staff seemed visbly annoyed to be troubled by a simple request. We had to take a cab to the station to get tickets for the next day. Plenty of tickets were available. Exactly WHAT the hotel staff had done remains unknown... To sum up: As another reviewer has pointed out, the staff members are not at all professional and seem unclear on what their roles are. The hotel is very clean and has convenient location to most of the sightseeing places. The hotel staffs are friendly. The money exchange is in the same compound, so is highly convenient.

The hotel had a convenient location to the subway. But for itms price, it has to be better run and have higher level of comfort compared to the second hotel we stayed, at the SSAW Shanghai; in the same area. Staff were not incredibly friendly at the front desk. Overall it was not a relaxed stay.

The hotel was great, the breakfast was great, location is fantastic for tourism. Walking distance from shopping area and the beautiful Yuyuan gardens. The rooms were great with a great tub and rain shower. My only disappointment was the concierge service whose english was poor and was basically unable to be helpful other than hailing a taxi. If you're […] an english speaker, don't rely on the concierge to help you find a restaurant or suggest things to do. You'd be better off using the internet. But then again, we talked to one guy; this might be a completely different after a shift change. The staff behind the counter spoke very good english and were able to answer all our questions. Spent 10 nights there in May while visiting our daughter who lives in Shanghai. Great location, walking distance to Yuyuan garden area with lots of shopping and street food.Buffet breakfast was adequate.Staff was helpfull with directions and able to write addresses for us to give to cab drivers . Would definetely stay there again.

Some crazy Spanish people started a party in their room at 3am. Thus I called the security and reflected the situation. 5 minutes later, those senseless people became quite. Well, my night was still ruined.

Hotel is conveniently located to major attractions. The staff has only very limited knowledge of English, is not helpful and behave as they are doing a favor to the customers. Numerous roaches in the breakfest room.

The hotel lobby was the only thing that looked 4 star. The images the hotel uses on the site make it look a lot bigger than it actually is. The rooms were carpeted and incredibly dirty. They tried to shampoo the carpet in the hallway and it's still smells of smoke and mildew. The hotel personnel were not helpful at all with anything. First, I will start off with the positive. The location is 2 blocks from a very nice tourist attraction. That is all. This is not a 4 Star Hotel not even by Chinese's rating. We booked a Superior Room for 4 nights and it was far from being superior. When we first walked in the room, it was very stuffy and had an "old" smell to it. So when turned on […] the air unit and at which time we were graced with a pleasant smell of smoke. This was ridiculous because it was a smoke free room. Since the air unit wasn't helping, we opened the window but thiis wasn't much better. We were blessed with the perfect view into the windows of 7 of our neighbors. Then we enjoyed sleepless nights while listening to our neighbors conversation and music because they enjoyed keeping their window open majority of the time. This hotel is a good value. They do speak English here. It's situated on a busy street so it can get noisy. It's very close to Yu Yuan garden but a bit of a walk to the Bund. Hotel sits close to subways and there are good restaurants right acrosss the street in the shopping mall. The hotel restaurant is suprisingly good and not that expensive! Hotel is a little shabby considering it's age, but adequate. Location is quite central and close to many of the new sites. Breakfast is quantity over quality but again in this price bracket it would be hard to expect more. Recommended for the budget conscious traveller.

I wanted a room that's got natural light and comfortable and clean. This hotel satisfied my requests. The king-size bed was very comfy and the washroom was clean too. Coming from Hong Kong, I could get used to the noise - the room I had was facing roads and vehicle noise was inevitable. No international channels on TV; so bring your computer loaded […] with entertainment. No Wifi in the room, only LAN connection. Cash deposit of 500 RMB was required when checking in and when requesting for plates and cutlery, they asked for 100 RMB deposit. We booked at this hotel needing to rest overnight for our trip back to the states. Luckily we had a half a day to spend in shanghai before departing. Our hotel stay was very brief. The roommate and bathroom were very lovely, with all the amenities that you would expect. ...including an umbrella, which we were thankful because it was raining. It's called […] paradise because of interior-balcony-esk view, which looked like a garden. It's located right next to a shopping complex with five top restaurants at good prices. Hotel seems to have two addresses. We were pleased that the front desk acknowledged our reservation with out hesitation. Fellow travellers had difficulties in obtaining second room key. Hotel breakfast is okay, but priced too high.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff (including managers) barely understands english and is most unhelpful. Huge chinese restaurant inside the hotel wich makes it a little smelly as the kitchen is in the second floor next to many rooms.

Five minutes walk to Yuyuen Garden and Old Shanghai from the hotel. Five minutes walk to the #8 & #10 underground. One & a half hour shuttle bus ride from PU Dong Airport.

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in March, 2011. Facilities of the hotel are basically OK,with some exceptions! In my room, I had problems with almost all the faucets in the bathroom! Also, I couldn't find a clock in my room. The hotel's overall service? Difinitely not good! Lots of improvements should be done. The one tissue paper box of my room […] had only 3 sheets in it! Every day, I was not sure whether they had changed the towels with clean ones . . . In the restaurant (I used it for breakfast), there were lots of empty seats but with no service(knives and forks etc), and the tables had not been cleaned. I just finished a 2 week tour of China so I wanted to just relax in Shanghai and visit some friends. Checking in and then going to my room I felt I was in a lavishly luxurious hotel although I was well aware it was just a 4* hotel. The internet was free as compared to a pricier hotel I was staying at in Beijing. I make good use of the front desk help […] because I'll usually have a destination written in Pinyin but need it written out in Chinese characters and there was someone always able to do this for me. It was cold and snowing in Shanghai and there was heat in the room that was somewhat adjustable. I rather be too warm than too cold. Step outside and the Yun Garden tourist area were within close walking distance. I prefered the local residential scene as it was much more interesting. The subway was just one very long block away but went anywhere in town I wanted to go, even to the airport on departure. This is a very good "value" oriented hotel. Læs mere

This hotel is very conviently located, walking distance from Yuyuan Gardens, which are very nice, close to the metro station as well as other attractions. The hotel needs some renovations but it is kept in pretty good conditions. The breakfast buffet was very nice, including western style breakfast, however with the dinner be careful what you eat!

Excellent hotel for a cheap rate. Beds were nice and soft (unlike so many others in China) and the breakfast was good too. We have a great experience with Hotel Hun's Paradise. We checked in a bit early than the check-in time. Upon check in, we were upgraded to a better room without asking. My friend had left several messages at the front desk and they made sure the messages are conveyed to me at the time of check-in. The best thing is that this hotel has non-smoking rooms. […] We have been to several 5-star hotels in the Southern part of China and suffered the smoking air in every single hotel we've been to. Apparently, it's quite unusual to have non-smoking rooms in most of the hotels, even all the 5-star hotels we stayed at. The hotel servers good breakfast in the morning. The location is great - walking distance to the old Shanghai street. If I have to name one thing that needs improvement, it'd the up-keeping of the place. The hotel was clean and well-lit, and the concierge gave us an upgrade without asking, though there seemed to be a fair number of people staying at the hotel judging by the breakfast crowd. Our room was spacious, and the generously sized bathtub was an appreciated surprise. We were in Shanghai for the Expo, but the taxi drivers either didn't want to go there or didn't understand "Expo" in English, and we had to hoof it to the metro station every day. It's about a 10-minute brisk walk along an occasionally very narrow sidewalk that frequently includes electric motorbikes, so that wasn't too pleasant. But the metro stop is on the two major lines, 8 and 10. The surrounding neighborhood was largely residential, but had a very small mall with only Chinese and Korean restaurants, so we bought quite a few crackers and other essentials at its supermarket for sustenance. But we did belatedly find a tiny hole-in-the-wall cafe nearby run by a lovely Chinese couple who speak next to no English but make a mean supreme pizza. I'd recommend them - it looks a little dingy, but the food is fresh and good. Breakfast at the hotel was a decent mix of Western and Chinese options. We never went hungry, but sometimes we ate more pastries than others. Overall, I think I'd like to find a hotel with a more central location, but the hotel itself was a lovely experience. Læs mere
