Value for money. Stayed as family with 2 kids in 1 room. Room standard ok. Good breakfirst buffet. Located app 35K south of Amsterdam but easy accces to Amsterdam as you have the highway all the way in (app 25-30 min).

Nice rooms. Perfect for 4 persons. Good restaurant with a delisious italian buffet. The hotel is very good for family/friends with children. The is a play-area near the restaurant and a nice indoor swimmingpool. Nice sofa relaxing area for the adults. We can recommend this hotel for families and friends.

Bus til stationen 500 mtr. fra hotellet. Fra stationen afgår der ofte tog til Amsterdam ( eller lufthavnen ) Transporttid fra hotel til Amsterdam City ca. 1 time med det offentlige. God bar, venligt personale og fantastisk god morgenbuffet. Leiden by er i sig selv en oplevelse. Mange gode spisesteder og et meget hyggeligt miljø omkring centrum.

Tæt på Keukenhof og desuden en godt hotel.Gode familieværelser. Leiden er en hyggelig by og Keukenhof er hele turen værd.

Hotellet har gratis parkering for overnattende. Der er gratis pool, legeland med hoppepude og ok morgenbuffet. Børn spiser gratis aftensmad, når forældre spiser i restauranten. Værelset har en ok størrelse med to store senge, men lidt irriterende med kun én stor dyne pr. seng. Vi var to voksne og to børn i familieværelse. Der stod i beskrivelsen at der var to dobbeltsenge, men det var to trekvarte senge, så pladsen var lidt trang og på hver seng var der en ekstra bred dyne, men børnene brød sig ikke om at dele dyne og det kan jeg godt forstå (dreng på 12 år og pige på 14 år). Dette var til gengæld også det eneste minus ved […] opholdet - super lækker morgenbuffe - hver aften benyttede vi svimmingpoolen (dejligt). Alt i alt kan jeg fuld anbefale hottellet. Læs mere

Vores familie på 4, herunder to drenge på 11 og 14, var meget imponerede over hotellet. Lækkert værelse, super betjening, skøn swimmingpool - og den bedste og største morgenmadsbuffet, vi nogensinde har set. Et superdejligt hotel med perfekt beliggenhed for besøg i Amsterdam/Rotterdam - eller en strandtur i Katwijk. Selve Leiden er også et besøg værd […] med pæne huse, kanaler og en dejlig gågade. The hotel was fine but the staff at the time of check-in were the least co-operative and maybe even a little discriminatory. Certainly it was my worst Holiday Inn experience in decades. I was a little early at 1:15pm for a 3pm check-in and they said I had to wait until 3pm for a room, while they gave a room to someone who walked in 2 minutes after me. […] I don't know if it is because of me arguing about a change in my reservation from 2 nights to 1 night (which was agreed to by Hotels.com rep. and Holiday Inn rep. 4 days prior to my arrival). Holiday Inn reneged on their approval for change. The front desk person said they didn't have a shuttle to the train station but later I found that they did have one. All these make me feel discriminated against and not dealt with common hospitality that I have seen at other Holiday Inns worldwide. Læs mere

The hotel itself is awesome unless you have a room near the child's play area....then it's insanely noisy. Oh, and don't eat at the Garden Resturant in the hotel....way over priced-complete rip off. I'd stay there again but I'd know better about a couple things.

Wonderful hoel. A lot of amenities, great pool, many activities for children. It had just one bad thing, when we arrived we were told that breakfast was until 11:00am the next day. When we got to the breakfast are at 10:30am the staff was already taking the food back to the kitchen because, as they told us breakfast was until 10:30 and not 11:00am. […] The staff the at the breakfast area was very rude to us and the children about it. They told us that the night employee that received us made a mistake and that we could take whatever was left there until they pick it up. I was traveling with a group of 15 persons and we even had children that could not eat and had to leave without breakfast. The rest wonderful. Læs mere

I just wished I knew they had a shuttle bus that went to Central station every 1/2 hr going to there. I spent alot of money getting taxi's. The people at the front desk are not that helpful or friendly, but the place was really nic

The good points: Very helpful and welcoming staff, comfortable modern room, good pool and sauna. The bad point: Expensive breakfast (20 euros each when we visited), Internet connection poor and expensive. Also the dinner service, which ended at about 9pm, was really noisy. The restaurant/cafe, which is open plan, was quite literally outside our room […] with just a fence panel in between. We had an inner facing ground floor room and the hotel design is such that the rooms surround the restaurant. Læs mere

We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel with our two young children. The pool and sauna were amazing and the indoor playground was perfect. Our first night, we had a room on the 1/2 of the hotel overlooking the restaurant. It was SO noisy until after midnight and started up again around 6. We aren't usually bothered by noise, but we asked for a quieter room […] first thing I'n the morning and the staff was very helpful and friendly about moving us. The second room was on the back half of the hotel and very quiet. The hotel is I'n an industrial area, but only a 15-20 minute walk to the train station down nice sidewalks that follow cycling paths. Just ask at reception for directions. There is also a city bus if the hotel shuttle is not running. Leiden itself is a great little town with tons of delicious dining options right by the station...way better than the hotel buffet and nearly always cheaper. Basically, great staff and family amenities with a so-so location and overpriced food. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to families looking for a place to relax. Læs mere

The hotel and staff is first class. rooms are clean and spacious. swimming pool and sauna excellent. one small thing which i had a problem with was kids running around in the play aera at 7.30am making a lot of noise. so a lie in, no chance. other than that perfect in every way. thank you.

Expensive and poor signal wireless network throughout hotel...I had to move rooms to catch it. Hotel has a childrens play area, which was right outside my room, so noisy most of the time. Food was OK but not much of a selection and nothing nearby, so a long walk into town. Breakfast was fine but a little expensive for a buffet. This was a very good family friendly resort. Well maintained pools, game area and wii games. The rooms were clean and the service was good.

Absolutely fabulous stay,very comfortable,clean and friendly staff. Very good for family, lots of activities for the children.Hotel is very convenient to travel to Amsterdam and neighbouring places. We had a great time there.

Travelling in family group of 4 children and 2 adults. Loved having 2 double beds per room rather than 2nd sofa bed. Good sized bath and shower. Really enjoyed all the sports stuff-played table tennis and swam with kids. Also used the badminton/tennis courts. Had inclusive breakfast deal-we all loved the breakfasts. This is a great hotel for families as it overs a huge range of leisure and games facilities in a safe indoor enviroment. It is ideally located for visiting Amsterdam and the surrounding areas. The family buffets offers unlimited food and kids eat free. Excellent hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel and it was great to have a pool. Only disappointment was that I asked to borrow a float for my 10 year old son as he is not a strong swiimer, but was denied.

First the bad things, internet min 5 euro charge for 15 mins, breakfast 60 euros for 4 people, meals expensive. However the good bits, a conference room set up for kids, bouncy castle, PS2, games (all free). Stay there but don't eat there.

Good size room, enough for me and kids. Swimming pool a good size and great for kids although no lifeguard so they cannot go on their own. Indoor bouncy castle, table tennis, play stations, TV - loads to keep them occupied whilst grownups have a bit of grownup time. Did not eat breakfast as it was in my opinion too expensive at 17 euro but that seems […] to be the norm in all hotels I have stayed in in the Netherlands. 20m walk to the station to get straight to Amsterdam. the staff at the hotel was not useful and was not happy to help at any question. the hotel isclean and nice and the swimming pool is open until 11 at night which was comfortable for the children.

Good quality hotel but we felt like in a bunker or inside cabin. It was difficult to find out what time it was because we had no windows. Otherwise The stay was nice. Good ,clean facilities especially swimming pool and excellent food. next time more light please and better weather for all your guests

Rooms are okey but the extra facilities are way too expensive. Minibar could be cheaper. Internet facility is too expensive that its even cheaper to buy a pay as you go mobile internet. At least kids were happy because of the pool. Parking was free and situated near to a highway, those points gives a lot of plus.

Nice facility in safe area, must take city bus and train into Amsterdam. Small local grocery store and ATM a short walk away. No ATM on site, clerk offered to perform a cash advance on Visa for a 10% fee. No thanks!

Over all Holiday Inn in Leiden is hossum ..its excellent atmosphere,clean,good place,nice site seeing surround the hotel,I like to stay few more days.But only conveyance to city in holidays also should be provided.Then its a excellent and no words to say to Holiday Inn hotel.......

A ideal place for your family and kids. Kids can play and swim, nobody bothers their activities. Good starting point for a day trip to Amsterdam, Delft , The Hague or the West coast beaches of the Netherlands.

I would surely recommend this hotel. Clean tidy and above all expectation. Free Parking is an added advantage.

We were so pleased with the comfortable and spacious layout of the hotel. Pool was great, kids loved the playroom. The Buffet was expensive, but very tasty, convenient and since kids ate free it was well worth it. We comfortable fit our family of five in the hotel room (baby in a crib). All the staff was very friendly and helpful with all our requests […] and needs. It was the perfect homebase for our trip to Holland. Læs mere

Nice Hotel.. The room was basic with two double beds. The bathroom was okay, the pressure in the shower was poor and the sink is high for little ones to reach. Housekeeping came to our door a few times even though the do not disturb sign was up. Our room over looked the dining room so we found it very loud at 7am. Overall a good place to stay. Some of the reviews here were really helpful for me to decide a few things. So I will detail out on aspects I found lacking like transport and connectivity from here more than the hotel. The hotel was good. Although I will avoid the food at the hotel as it was too expensive for a normal food. I had no clue about Netherlands and was very skeptic about […] staying in Leiden. But it was a perfect location. We stayed for 8 days and went to all major cities and attractions like Amsterdam, Rotterdam , Den Haag , Keukonoff and Kinderdijk. It was a perfect place to stay. The public transport system was good and trains from Leiden Central connect well to all places quickly. Amsterdam was about 30 minutes and just 2 stops by fast train. There is a bus from Hotel to Leiden Central station. This is Bus no 43 from Holiday Inn run by Veolia. Its best to get the time table from reception and use the bus timings as in evenings there is only one bus per hour. Alternatively you can go by the Connexion transport buses from a different bus stop just around the corner from the Veolia bus stop. There are 4 or 5 buses from there and more frequent. But while coming back from Leiden Central, these buses don't stop near to holiday inn. There is a mcdonalds near by and all these buses stop there while coming back and its a short walk back to the hotel from there. This stop is called Transferium. And the connexion buses stop here. This is useful if you just miss the bus after 7 pm as you don't have to wait for 1 hour. Also, the new Ov-Chip Kart is very confusing. If you ask the counter in the station, they will tell you if you have kids , then the OV-Chip Kart for trains is not good for you. They are right. For e.g. return ticket to Amsterdam is about 15 Eur for adult. If you have kids you just need to buy the 3 Eur Rail runner ticket. However , if you use a OV-Chip Kart since its an anonymous one for tourists , you have to pay full fare for kids too. On top you pay 7.50 for the chip kart itself. Læs mere

Hotel was very nice and in a good area. Parking was gated and even when they were booked solid there were still a good choice of spaces left. Restaurant was pricey, but we found a McDonalds down the road and the city center was 5 min drive down the road and had a lot of restaurants to choose from. I would recommend the Argentinian Steak house - it was […] delicious!! Our only negetive experience was that we were put in a smoking room when we asked for a NON smoking - they offered to change our room for the first night but since they were booked the second night told us we would have to be put back into the same room. We opted to stay since this ment a mid day check out and later check into the the new room. We were VERY happy with our over all stay and will be going back to that hotel if we ever return to the Netherlands. Læs mere

Perfect hotel for us with a rental car. Easy to get places and parking was free! Great tub for soaking and the only drawback was having to pay for internet. Also close to the Atlantic Ocean.

This is a great family hotel that is convenient for travel. It has a huge lounge area adjacent to a playcenter for kids. It is a short bus ride to the Leiden Centraal Train Station that takes you directly into Amsterdam. 15 minutes away from the Keukenhof Gardens and the North Sea. Hotel is excellent in accomodation, swimming pool & leisure facilities. Also handy to bus stop to get bus to Leiden station where can get train into Amersdam for around 5.20 euros single my biggest gripe is the prices for food in the hotel! cheese burger & chips & salad costing £13 euros! A-la carte £30 euros. Main disappointment with breakfast - […] full breakfast @ £19 euros.2 of us went in & had:- x2 coffees,x2 orange juices,x2 croisants,x2 cereals & x2 toast,x2 raisin scones which all came to a staggering £28 euros!!!!!!! Please be aware, they charge individual for each item you lift! There is a shell garage across the road & my suggestion would be to get things out of there for your room! Really very disappointed that they wouldn't have a set price for a continental breakfast. Seems very odd for a Holiday Inn chain to do this! Læs mere
