Homewood Suites by Hilton Portland - Scarborough

So comfortable! This was exactly what I was hoping for after a long drive and a long day of work. The hotel was quiet, and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay here again.

Extremely accommodating and comfortable. Staff was lovely and welcoming, especially to our pet traveler. Breakfast buffet is complimentary and actually enjoyable. Very clean and I would definitely return for future stays.

Our stay at this hotel was great and exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect weekend stay. My children enjoyed it and were very thankful for the time they had there. I generally like Homewood Suites, and this one was great! A little further from Portland than I expected, but still in a very convenient location. My only complaint, and it is a very minor one, was that the kitchen could have been equipped a bit better (and is at other Homewood locations I've stayed at). While checking in, I had a guest come down and […] ask for a colander, which is usually in the room, but the hotel did not have one on the entire premises for them. Very nice hotel. Clean and well maintained. Close to airport. Most of the staff was courteous, friendly, and professional. Shuttle van driver VERY lazy and rude. Would not get out of van at airport or hotel to help with bags. Sat behind steering wheel and would not move. Graveyard desk person (male) very unprofessional and sloppy looking.

Although I was pretty comfortable and the staff was good, the hotel itself is in such much needed updating as far as their rooms go. The furniture in my sitting area was old and stained but overall pretty good. I would stay there again and plan to on my next visit.

I liked the hotel, but the staff were not very friendly. Maid service forgot us the first day and wanted to blame privacy please sign, but we took the sign down by 10AM. When we returned from sightseeing and told the front desk that our room had not been cleaned they said that housekeeping had left for the day. Clean, clean, clean hotel. Check in and check out were super fast. Complementary breakfast was great, plenty of choices and very convenient. Location is good, less than 10 minutes from Portland and not far from great beaches and beautiful lighthouses. Nothing to complain about.

I recently stayed here with my wife and two young children. The corner room we were in was clean and had plenty of space for the 4 of us. Having both breakfast and dinner included during the week was a plus, especially with children. The food was tasty as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel in great location, close to many things and tourist-y areas. Hotel served breakfast everyday, it was decent, some of the food you could tell was frozen. Most convenient location, near everything. I found the room very comfortable and inviting. It was only one night but if it had been longer I would have enjoyed every minute. The breakfast could have been better but was not too bad. When I go back to the area, I will stay there again.

Overall, I had a pretty good stay. We had a very hard time regulating the temperature in the room. It was either too hot or too cold all the time. We eventually turned it off and slept with no heat overnight. Also, it was so loud when it was running that it was annoying. I got a room for the weekend so my girlfriend and I could have a nice getaway romantic weekend away. We enjoyed my overall stay here but there were a few things that I didn't like about it. We stayed in a room where the sink's garbage disposal didn't work so when we ran the dishwasher the sink backed up and was really nasty. We called the front desk […] to ask for extra towels for our room and we had to call back a half hour later because they didn't bring any the first time we called. My family (kids aged 3, 9, and 11, hubby and I) stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting the Portland area. We chose this hotel over all others mainly because of the fact that there is a stovetop and fridge in the room, giving the opportunity to prepare meals. With three kids and a tight budget, going out for meals was not really an option. […] The kitchen in the room was great! Just enough for us to prepare some light, easy meals. As for the rest of the room, we had a king-sized bed, a fold out couch, and requested a roll-away cot for my son. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were awesome. The shower was HUGE, and everything was spotless! The Neutrogena products were much appreciated! Only 2 slightly negative things I would have to say. The first was the temperature fluctuations in the room. If we turned the thermostat down it was like the air conditioner was on. If we turned it up, it was blowing heat. We had to keep adjusting and readjusting....who knows, could have been user error! The second thing was breakfast. I was slightly disappointed in the offerings. The first day we were there, they had mini omelets with cheese, bacon and potatoes, along with all the othere standard fare--bagels, cereal, oatmeal. Not too bad, but hard to keep hot. The next day was breakfast sandwiches and tater tots, which were awful. My son, however, loved the cheerios and went back for 3 bowls. We will definitely go back to this hotel if we decide to do another trip to portland. Next time though we will probably just make breakfast in the room. Læs mere

We recently visited Maine for a weekend of rest and relaxation and this hotel certainly fit the bill. Nice clean rooms, delicious breakfast, and great pool facility. We would recommend Homewood Suites anytime!

My husband and I stayed for a week ar HS in Portland ME and it was really the most pleasant, clean and accomodating motel stay we have experienced. What was especially nice were the complamentary breakfast and dinners provided to guests. We stated here for two nights toward the end of our honeymoon. It was great to have access to the pool and hot tub which were open whenever we wanted to go. The suite was furnished with a full refridgerator, cooktop and microwave which was great because we could save the cost of eating out. Everything was wonderful. Tfront desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The accomodations made us feel like we were right at home. The free breakfasts and suppers were truly wonderful. We normally stay at a Marriott hotel but decided that we would give Homewood a try. We were extremely impressed. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was true to its name...HOME like. We stayed here for one night on our way through and I honestly wish we could have stayed longer. The location is perfect for shopping and the room itself was clean, comfortable and quiet. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be staying here again.
