Windsor Hotel - New York

Windsor er ikke noget prangende hotel, men til gengæld rigtig god værdi for pengene, med store rene værelser og behjælpsomt personale. Et udemærket valg...

Selvom hotellet ikke var det bedste i byen var betjeningen fin, og vi fik gode råd fra receptionen. China town er fantastisk! Hvis du er til kaffe og en god scone, ligger Starbucks samt en anden super hyggelig café lige rundt om hjørnet. Tager 10 min at gå til Little Italy og ca. 20 min at gå til hjertet af SoHo.

Et lille men velfungerende hotel. Dejligt, at vi kunne hente frisklavet kaffe gratis i receptionen. Meget hjælpsomt og venligt personale.

Vi er 3 piger der har været en tur i New York, og vi skal ALDRIG igen bo på dette hotel. For det første var værelset SLET ikke som vi havde bestilt, vi boede 3 personer på ca 8-9kvm, uden plads til skab eller noget andet, foruden vores ene 1,5mands seng og en enkeltseng. Det tog en stor del af vores Sex and The City oplevelse at bo så usselt. Det værste […] kom dog sidst på turen.... Den ene af os begyndte at klø voldsomt, i løbet af dagen begyndte de sidste 2 af os også at få udslæt/røde knopper ala myggestik. Da vi kom hjem fandt vi ud af at det var væggelus! Jeg har endda fået nogle med hjem - dette er meget seriøst! Tjek evt Statens skadedyrslaboratoriums hjemmeside hvis du er i tvivl. De sidder i tøj, sko, kuffert - kort sagt alt, hvis man er uheldig. Det er totalt mangel på respekt at leje værelser ud med sådan et problem på hotellet, da jeg går ud fra at hele hotellet er inficeret. Bliv væk, book et lidt dyrere hotel og tjek før du pakker ud!! Pænt hotel med god service, dog en enkelt (en lidt overvægt kineser) ansat var ikke videre hjælpesom men de andre ca 10 vi var i kontakt med gjorde alt hvad de kunne for at hjælpe;-) Gratis kaffe, samt is. En døgn koisk lige på den anden side af vejen hvor man kunne handle alt hvad man ville, sandwich, drikke, slik etc. Meget centralt for Down town […] delen, fin park med meget liv i om morgen, gymastik, og forskellige andre aktiviteter. Hotellet ligger på hjørnet ved en lokal park, og der er roligt om natten. Værelserne er rene og møbleret med det, der skal være. Der er mulighed for at købe kolde drikke i receptionen, hvor der også er kaffe om morgenen. Tæt på Chinatown og Little Italy, hvor der altid er gang i gaden - og fra subway går flere linjer direkte til Midtown. Meget venligt og hjælpsomt personale, fine værelser til prisen, central beliggenhed i livlige Chinatown

A nice budget hotel in relatively quite surroundings in spite of the fact that chinatown is a very busy and noisy area. Comfortable and clean room - only problem was that there was no hot water in the shower. Very closse to the subway and easy access to a number of sights.

Som et 2-stjernet hotel, synes jeg at det godt kan få 3 stjerner. Når vi beder portieren om at ringe efter en taxa til at køre os til lufthavnen, er det ikke i orden at ringe efter en ikke-autoriseret bil. jeg tror, at det var familien, der blev tilgodeset.

Hotellet ligger tæt på SOHO, Greewich Village og Chealsea - nogle helt fantastiske områder. Her er alt lidt mindre end andre steder på Manhattan: Små gallerier, designbutikker og teatre, hyggelige spisesteder og afslappede barer - er man til shopping så er her masser af Urban-style. Lige overfor hotellet ligger en stribe sportsarealer, hvor bl.a.afvikles […] 'Urban-soccer turnering' - hvis man er til den slags. Billigt hotel midt i mellem Soho, Chinatown og Lower East Side med kun 2 minutter til metro B, D og F, der kører til næsten alle centrale stationer. Kvarteret bag hotellet omkring Ludlow Street er pakket med hyggelige restauranter og barer. Værelserne er rene og pæne og hotellets service er god, men svinger lidt alt efter hvem, der sidder i receptionen. […] Der var meget stille på hotellet, ingen billarm eller støj fra de andre værelser. Hotel lige ved Chinatown. gode senge,men små værelser. Gåafsstand til Broadway, Soho, frihedsgudindens turbåde, Ground Zero, financiel district mm....alle indenfor 15-20 minutters gang... Times Square, Empire State building, Central Park ca 60 minutters gang. Ok nabolag, også om aftenen...

Jeg har været afsted med familien, dvs. 4 på et værelse. Det var ganske vidst en smule trængt, men alt var helt i orden. Fine senge, badeværelse, faciliteter og god rengøring hver dag. Vi forventede noget rigtig slemt og er ikke krævende, så vi var meget tilfredse. Det er nok mere china town end Soho, men subwayen er lige ved siden af, så det er nemt […] at komme rundt. Læs mere

Basic, no frills, older hotel. Comfortable beds, free wi-fi. A few blocks from the D (and B?) subway. Extremely friendly & helpful staff at reception desk. Even gave us a list of their favorite local restaurants which came in handy. Free coffee in lobby. If you just need a comfortable place to stay, I recommend Windsor. Great, no frills place. Price can't be beat. Room was super clean. Bathroom could use a renovation but was still clean. Hotel is right near everything awesome about New York neighborhood wise.

You probably can't find anything better for this price in NYC. Not the fanciest place to stay, but it has everything you need, it's clean, the staff is very friendly and conveniently located.

Rooms need a little maintenance and upgrading. A little worn but overall clean. If you're looking for a convenient location, a clean bed and bathroom, this place will do.

I couldn't have been happier with the hotel! Though perhaps not "luxurious," the rooms are clean, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful, and it is located in a dynamic and centrally located neighborhood. It was worth every penny of the very reasonable price.

The hotel's a bit dated, the furniture somewhat shabby but it was clean, the staff was kind and we were half a block from the subway.

hotel is conveniently located near subway lines and great restaurants in chinatown, little italy, and the east village. hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. only drawback is the rooms are very small. great room for sightseers who are only looking for a room to hold their suitcase and sleep occasionally.

If you are looking for clean, comfortable, simple accomodations this place might be just right. Located in the Lower East side, on the edge of Chinatown, directly across the street from Sara Roosevelt Park. Neighborhood is very busy. I was there on Sunday and the park was full of people playing, exercising, and enjoying the good weather. There was even […] a tiny section of the park set aside for people to come and bring their song birds. Nice place. Small hotel with simple but appropriate rooms. Nice window over looking the road and small park/soccer accross the street. Very nice playground one block down. Small room, but clean and comfortable. Two doubles, desk and chair, dresser. Clean, NO bed bugs and I checked the right way. They were very helpful and friendly at the desk, china […] town, but spoke perfect English and very accomidating. Great location- close to china town, little italy, soho, and the east village. Clean room and bathroom. Somewhat battered condition of bed and furniture. Safe did not work. Wifi was free but a little patchy,

Furniture was worn, walls a bit worn, No hot water for shower morning of check out. Had to take a shower in a room next door that hadn't been cleaned yet

Windsor was definitely a good choice in hotel for our budget. The room was clean and pretty comfortable and sufficiently spacious. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Location is right next to the subway to take uptown. Overall, the hotel was simple, but it was a good choice if you just need a place to crash. Definite recommend.

Close to shopping but there was an open condom and condom in the drawer. we called them but they say no one is available to clean it and then can only do it in the morning but no one came. all we got is I'm sorry

We crashed inTo our rooms @ the Windsor @ 8:05-8:24pm for a pre-Allman Brotha's whisky toast! Down to catch a cab to the Beacon for a legendary performance! We stayed one night here and found the location and room perfect for our needs. The room was on the smaller side, but we were perfectly comfortable. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful- we got a page of restaurant recommendations and directions to anywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely be revisiting!

This was an excellent find. The elevator was not working, but I was on the second floor, so no problem. Walking distance to plenty of places to eat, drink, etc. the Bed was a little firmer than normal, but I slept fine. The world was right outside the window, but there was very little noise. the room was larger than I expected, and very clean, including […] the bathroom and a slightly over-sized bathtub that I didn't really get the opportunity to enjoy. Nice big flat screen TV on the wall so didn't take up space. I caught a good deal, and need to go back in May, but they are already booked full. Fair price, clean enough, wasn't disturbed at all. Everything worked well and it was very close to the East Village. Best I've found in NYC so far for the price....

The Windsor Hotel, located one block from the Grand St subway station (Lines B, D) was a great deal for us (through Hotels.com). The room is basic in accomodations (no refrigerator or safe in rooms), but was very clean and comfortable. For this trip, we were primarily using the room for showering and sleeping, so the extras were not that important. Cleanliness was not up to parr. There were hairs on the comforter and in the bath tub. Other than that, price was right on, customer service was excellent, great location, perfect for a one night stay. Definatlely, not a place to stay for a romantic get-away.

For the price and location, the Windsor is good enough. If you are not particularly concerned with the thread count of your sheets and what grade of marble the countertops are, that is. It won't win any awards for that kinda stuff, but it is very clean and is super convenient. No bed bugs!! I checked my room myself and also this hotel is not on the […] registry of places where they have been found in the past so rest assured. Big TVs in the rooms, but that is about it for modern amenities. My room safe did not work, but I felt that the hotel was very secure. The wireless was pretty spotty. If you rely on wifi for anything more than just checking email I would not recommend this hotel. My encounters with the housekeeping staff indicated that they are hardworking, honest, and friendly. You can be at the Grand St. (B, D lines) and Bowery St. (6 line) subway stops in a few steps. Starbucks around the corner and all the best food in Chinatown. If you are a beer enthusiast, the most ridiculously huge beer warehouse is a few blocks north at 167 Chrystie St. The hotel was pretty quiet for NYC because the hotel faces a park. I was traveling alone for business and found this to best an excellent deal compared to what my colleagues were paying for in midtown and I definitely had much better options for cheap and delicious eats. In case you are interested in vegetarian food: Wild Ginger, Vegetarian Dim Sum House, and House of Vegetarian are just a few minutes walk. And of course, Lombardi's pizzeria is less that five minutes walk which is a must if you are staying in this area. I went to Brooklyn on two evenings to meet people and the cab ride was $12 which is hard to beat for a late night return home. So yeah, if you are in NYC to see, smell, access, and experience everything this wonderful city has to offer, Windsor is safe, clean and affordable. I stayed 6 nights and it work just fine for me! Best front desk service, friendly and very helpful. Give a lot of tips on how to go about at NY. Very strategic location. Very close to Subway station. Easy to find variety of foods and staff nearby. Reasonable big rooms.

The hotel's location is excellent, just next to Littly Italy and Soho and their restaurants, bars and trendy shops. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, affordable, and very convenient to some of the most fun neighborhoods in Manhattan. You won't find a better deal in the citty.

I have stayed in this hotel 4 times in the past two years. The first three visits worked out well. This time I was not happy at all. THe floor smelled like cigarettes and the room did not have a fridge like the other times. The beds(at least one bed) was only a single. The toilet backed up on us three times and the drain was extremely slow The ice machine […] in the basement was broken and has been broken for awhile from what I was told from others and the woman receptionist barely knew any english and was absolutely no help for anything. This was my first time staying at the Windsor Hotel. Location was perfect for me. close to many good restaurants,Staff was very friendly. Quiet area, across from a park, A nice basic room for the price. Will stay there again.

It's not fancy or pristine, but the Windsor is clean, comfortable, and a definite bargain by Manhattan standards. Service is also quite good--a number of our lamp bulbs were burned out, but maintenance came up in less than 5 minutes to replace them. The hotel is very well located, one block to the B/D Subway line and less than a 5 minute walk to the […] F and 6 lines, so you can basically be anywhere in the city with no more than 1 change. And being in Chinatown, there are an unbelievable number of dining choices close by (we recommend a Western Chinese place called Xian Fine Foods). It's even less than a 10 minute walk to Katz's deli, though we opted for a lovely little Italian cafe called Gaia. We would definitely come back for another long weekend. Læs mere

The hotel was clean and conveniently located. We had some plumbing problems. They attempted to address it, but the problem persisted. The shower was hot and strong. Noise does carry in the building. If you are on the first floor, you will loudly hear the comings and goings of other customers.

Other than my room being very small, everything else was fine. The room was clean and close to everywhere I wanted to go.
