Vi var meget tifredse med hotellet, en af de pæneste jeg har boet på i London. Flot, stort og rent og meget rimeligt i pris, og ufatteligt centralt lige over for stationen Gloucester Road i hyggeligt kvarter i Kensington. Vi fik først værelse med dobbeltseng, men da vi var to veninder, spurgte vi om de havde et twin som bestilt - og fik så det fedeste værelse, dobbelt så stort, ingen støj, kæmpe badeværelse - virkelig god service og hyggelig hotelbar og lobby. Ville klart anbefale det og bo der igen.

Det ligger tæt på the tube, både Lancaster gate men også Paddington. Ikke noget prangende hotel, men hvem kan også forvente det til denne pris.

Værelset var rent - og meget bekvemt med det lille køkken. Dog savnede jeg mulighed for filterkaffe, der var en lille stempelkande, som efterlod kaffen med meget grums, næste gang tager jeg egen filter og trakt med. Jeg var heldig med stort vindue ud mod vejen. Jeg nød meget at være på værelset. Der er ingen lounge eller fællesareal, men venlig betjening fra den lille reception under trappen. Beliggenheden er perfekt, på stille og smuk vej, og Notting Hill Gate og alle nødvendige butikker lige om hjørnet. Jeg kommer igen.
Placering.
Wotton House er i landlige omgivelser, ligger i Dorking og er tæt på Leith Hill Tårn og Polesden Lacey. Ekstra attraktioner i omegnen er bl.a. Denbie's Wine Estate og Hatchlands Park.

Lovely hotel. Used it twice now - but this time one unpleasant flaw. When we went for breakfast - despite having already booked and payed before arrival the previous day, we were told by the young man on duty that we couldn't enter the breakfast room because of "NO CREDIT". This was in front of my partner and other guests. It caused me significant […] distress. We then had to return to reception to establish what the problem was. There was no problem. Booked for business trip but would be happy to use this hotel for any purpose. It looks spectacular as you drive upto it and it doesn't disappoint on the inside. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were a good size and the spa was excellent for unwinding at the end of the day.

"Wotton House Hotel - peace haven"
Lovely setting for a day/night away from everyday. Great place to recharge the batteries and catch up with old friends. There was a wedding and several Xmas parties on while we were there, but as a guest you would not have known. So quiet. Will be there again next year - an annual treat!

If it wasn't for the bar, I would give this hotel absolutely top marks - great staff and great service. However. Unlike most hotels, guests are generally not here of their own choice. We stayed at Wootton House on the 7th May 2011 and i couldnt recommend it highly enough. My wife and i were celebrating our 4th anniversary and decided on this location because it was close to home. The staff couldnt have been nicer and more attentive. There was also a wedding on the same night and everyone was in good form. The room was what i expected, […] clean, roomy and quiet. Myself and my wife had a very enjoyable stay in a very comfortable hotel in lovely grounds. "Great peicw,great hotel - bad service"
We booked this hotel at a great price to enable us to visit our daughter living in that area. The plan was to spend time with her and then invite her and partner to dinner with us. We booked the hotel and immediately tried to book dinner for 4 for the Sunday to be told we did not need to book and to do so on arrival. On arrival on the Saturday we attempted […] to bok again to be told - "Not sure - chec tomorrow re: what`s on" ?. Next morning we were told the restaurant was closed for the evening as an Asian wedding had their own caterers in and we would have to go elsewhere.We were very upset as our daughter was to drive 45 minutes each way to see us and all we had to offer was the prospect of a pub meal next door. The receptionist ran after us to say " It`s not that we are not looking after you" - when clearly this was indeed the case. It is clearly the policy of this hotel to be vague about restaurant bookings until they see whether a conference or wedding is paying more. They obvioulsy knew aout this wedding at the time of booking and on check in but failed to tell us enabling us to switch plans and eat there on the Saturday perhaps.Lots of other guests were similarl annoyed / upset that we spoke to who had experienced the same. No option of a bar meal was even given and they checked whether we had booked DBB - how did they not know and what would they have done with a closed kitchen anyway? Service at first beakfast was also chaotic - a table being vaguely pointed towards, no one on hand for 10 minutes to enquire about tea / coffee with me having to search for a waiter and having to order 3 times before getting any. A depleted range of food despite being only mid-way through service. The hotel grounds / itself were excellent and service on the second morning was what you would expect of such a hotel but I am afraid that despite that and great price we would not stay here again due to their total disregard for our food needs on the Sunday which should have been flagg Læs mere

on arrival we found the receptionist to be unfriendly and never acknowledged us when entering the building and we stood and waited untill she had finished with other bookings, would have been nice to have been acknowledged. also due to a wedding there was no where to get a drink until the evening.
"Good place for last stop before Heathrow"
We enjoyed our stay at this huge manor house with its spacious grounds. The service was excellent. It is a little past its peak, but full of interesting features such as Victorian gothic library/bar. It was great to spend our last night in the UK in such peaceful countryside and the be at Heathrow within an hour.

hotel and grounds were lovely, room was fine, reception staff were very pleasant. the spa was great, our one complaint was that there are very limited times that children can swim.as this was a family break that spoilt things a little. Otherwise we had a great time and were pleasantly surprised after reading the other reviews.

this was definately in my view a 5 star hotel, very clean and comfortable, friendly staff nothing too much trouble. Reception was fast and efficient. Food good and spa excellent. Free coffee which was most welcome.Excellent all round.

The hotel is certainly very impressive and is in a wonderful setting. The staff work very hard to help guests, and are very friendly. Unfortunately the hotel and the staff are then let down by management errors. Breakfasts, and especially lunches, were fine, with a very good choice (except the last morning - see later!). The first night we were there […] one of our party wanted a sweet sherry. No problem. The second night the same person again wanted a sweet sherry - sorry, run out. OK, a dry sherry mixed with lemonade would suffice. The third night they'd run out of lemonade! They'd also run out of Pineapple juice. At breakfast the following morning, they'd ALSO run out of orange juice! HOW??? How can a hotel run out of so many common items during the course of just 4 days? As for the evening meals, whilst well cooked and presented, the choice was very limited - 4 main items, and the vegetables were basically exactly the same, meal after meal after meal, whole green beans, glazed carrots and some sort of potato, usually irrespective of the main item (chicken, beef, pork, etc)! "Wotton House, Could be better......."
Advertised as 5-star hotel we have our doubts. Beautifull estate. Prefect location. Finish of the room could be better (Loose tiles in the bathroom.) Rotten window frames. Room are VERY noisy. Walls are very thin. You could hear your neigbour use the toilet.... Not so pleasant.

Hadde gitt hotellet en høyere score, hadde det ikke vært for følgende, Lørdag morgen forsvant strømmen og vannet ble borte. Vi snakket med resepsjonen, og de sa til slutt at vi skulle få en refusjon på tjue GBP. Vi fikk ingen kvittering da vi ba om det ved utsjekking. Og resepsjonisten sa vi også hadde en middag. Noe som ikke stemte. Ingen hadde hatt […] noen middag. Ok, det skulle de ordne opp i. Vi hadde kun vært på hotellet om natta. Dog når vi kommer hjem. Hotellet har trukket nesten nesten syv hundre NOK for en middag vi ikke har hatt, og IKKE refundert noe som helst. Læs mere
