Essex Street Inn Newburyport - Newburyport

Clean and comfortable, but a little old and musty. It was in the center of the downtown historic area and provided a decent breakfast. The Inn is several buildings and mine was adjacent to the building with the front desk. Very desirable location.. Was very clean, our room was missing was decorations..Hooks were on the wall, but nothing hanging..Bathroom very clean..altho the sink drain closure did not work..Linens and bed were very comfortable..but the overall room was sparce. The continental breakfast was adequit..But no music and definitly not a chatty hostess or receptionist […] on Sunday..Lovely check in person on Saturday..This B & B has all the perfect items to be really good, but they have not gone the final push to make it great. Location of hotel was great and the hotel style fitted in with the style of Newburyport. No bar and restaurant but the high street only minutes away and lots of info in the hotel about the many bars and restaurants of the town.Complimentary breakfast more than adequate. Would stay again.

I was very suprised it was an INN and there is nothing that could have made it better. Had dinner at the 10 Center Street Resturant, never been to a better place ever at any cost. The best part it was a 2 block walk down these little village sreets where you couldn't feel any safer. I will be going back.

Nice place overall. Great location & friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean. The biggest problem was that there were no window shades, only wood blinds & shutters. Our room was "lit" all night by a street light and it was too bright to sleep in the next morning. Happy they had a Keurig coffee machine but the muffins could be much better.

Apart from a slightly saggy bed, it was a great place to stay. Hilariously, one of the bed mints had clearly already been eaten. This made the room feel a little less nice. Otherwise, you can't beat the location. The staff was very friendly.

The first day (Saturday) the offerings were satisfactory. The next day there was a lack of almost everything offered for the Contential Breakfast. We were there early and food ran out! I really expected better.
