Dunes Inn Sunset - Hollywood

This hotel is great for a place to stay when visiting a local landmark. A place to lay your head for the night. The bathroom was clean and the hotel looks freshly painted and well maintained. It's not five start luxury but it does well for a quick overnight stay.

I When we stayed in this Hotel, it smells like a newly painted room. We understand that they are doing some renovations which is good. It's clean and I suggest that they should change the color of the bed cover, somethings nice, clean and looks classy. I suggest plain color.

It was fairly good, i was really worried about the area, but once i got there I felt perfectly fine leaving my car there. Both my friend and I had no problems with the hotel and the beds were AWESOME! But maybe a hangover helps that!

Basic no frills motel that is clean and does the job. Nothing fancy but for the price is was clean and better than a lot of cheap motels in the Hollywood area.

This hotel was undergoing renovations while we were staying but did not effect our stay. The rooms were fine, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Free parking is great if you have a car. We did not drive so had to rely on the subway to get around which was around 2 blocks away. It was not really close to the Hollywood Bld action, he caught the […] subway 2 stops to get into the heart of it. A number of food take away options within walking distance which was goos as well as the cafe at the hotel. I probably would stay at a hotel closer to Hollywood Bld if this was my first trip to Hollywood but we were there as a stop over back to Australia so it was good for the price. Læs mere

The hotel is still undergoing renovation. Across the road can take bus about 6 to 10 mns to reach hardrock cafe. However, the street seems unsecure to me. So ended up we decided to drive. Parking is free at this motel however the street and garage parking are half an hour $2. Highland centre parking is slightly cheaper and if you ate at the hardrock […] cafe, you get to validate $2 off. We park there for 3 hours, parking cost us $4. The room is neat however we stay at ground floor, so been awaked up by the walking sound by the above floor people at 1 to 2am. Maybe is because the motel building structure is old. Free simple breakfast is good for us after a night stay. Consider quite good for the rate as nearby all motels are quite expensive. Læs mere

I really enjoyed my stay at the Dunes. The location is perfect, the attached lounge/bar/restaurant is really nice, no complaints about cleanliness or anything else. My only complaint is that the only lights in the room were fluorescent, which I find really depressing. There's not even a single table lamp to turn on for some soft light. But other than […] that no complaints. My room was inexpensive but still a nice size, and there was a refrigerator, etc. There was always plenty of parking in the Dunes lot. Definitely recommended. This is the 1st time we didn't wake up to a knock on the door from housekeeping ready to clean our room! I understand why they do that, and don't complain about it, but we are musicians and are typically up pretty late at night. Lately we'll leave the hotel room around noon and come back to an unmade bed. Again, I don't complain about it because I know […] the housekeepers are on a schedule. This hotel must have alert housekeepers, though! They never knocked and were observant of when we left. We came back every night (spent 4 days there) to a clean room!!! I asked for an extra towel but never received it and was asked if I still had the iron I borrowed (which I didn't borrow) upon check out, but there were no complications to either. The front desk clerks do not like the restaurant next door, so be prepared to walk or drive somewhere else for food. I highly suggest Sunset Grill near Guitar Center about 5-10 minute drive down Sunset Blvd. Traffic noise was not that bad. Turn on the a/c and you won't hear a thing. Be prepared to put down a deposit for the remote control. Too bad other guests that steal the remote causes this hotel to have to ask for a deposit for a silly remote! Again, not the hotel's fault. Just rude travelers. We typically stay off Sunset/Vermont but was getting scared of the neighborhood there and have been looking for a better hotel for our twice a year trips to Hollywood. To their credit they are doing renovations but they are up early to do them, very early. (6:30) when I told management they denied it and were basically rude, but oh well. This is essentially a low class joint. Poor amenities, and lots of street noise. Not suggested for a comfortable stay.

Me and my girls stayed here because of the great location.. Very close to great nightclubs in the area.. If you need a place to rest your head after a long night partying, this is the place.. GREAT DEAL!!!

THE MOTEL WAS ALRIGHT. THE BED THOUGH ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. IF YOU JUST NEED A PLACE THAT IS CHEAP AND CLEAN THEN GO HERE OTHERWISE FIND OTHER ARRANGEMENTS

The Good: location, ease of access to freeway, and centrally located for both downtown LA & Hollywood. The Bad: limited parking, which was partially taken up most of the day by construction crews, and if you go out in the evening and return later, you may not find a place to park your car. The Ugly: the carpet inside the room. Overall the rooms felt […] dated, but I found the bed sheets & bathroom towels clean & fresh which is very important. The carpeting inside the room had a "funky" look about them & looked as if they hadn't been cleaned since they were installed. Stayed for two nights. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Never had a problem with parking. The rates were quite cheap compared to every other hotel within a couple of miles. The room, linens, and bathroom were clean. No bugs. The bed was comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep, but I had to turn on the fan to help drown out the noise of the […] city and other hotel guests from coming into the room. Overall great location to Hollywood and Universal Studios.The rooms are small,but very comfortable beds and it has block walls so no noise.It is being remodeled at this time ,so yes... i would stay there no problems.

It was a nice quaint motel/hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It served it's purpose, I just needed a place to stay for a night out with the girls. I would definitely stay here again.

for the money, it's not bad, nothing speical. we stayed one night and it was fine, clean, had a tv/microwave and shops/alcohol shops near by

Never Again .. no service, no restaurent the week end, super noisy etc... all the thing that normal people doe's search...

We stayed there 3 nights. Parking lot was empty and i booked through hotels.com said that they had oppenings the guy wouldnt let me get my room 2hrs early he was a compleat A#$ and i just drove straight 14 hrs and had to wait another 2. It was run down and like staying at a INN i suppose but the pictures definatly are not real and are Crap deffinatly […] wouldnt stay again.. Læs mere

the rooms smelled bad it had termite bites on the walls they have women selling there self there not something i would want my family to be around. the rooms looked dirty and they had bed bugs YUK..... i would never in my life saty there again i had to check out the next day and go to another hotel and waste some money they would not give back

We found three roaches in the room. The front desk gave us a can of bug spray!!

15min walk to centre of Hollywood, food/shops very close. Everything worked fine in our room. Not a fancy place but it suited our needs very well. Some traffic noise and A/C noisy but didnt stop us getting a good nights sleep.

It is a motel rather than a hotel and it doesnot deserve premium pricing that we paid.Carpet color is such that it looks always dirty - not feel like touching, bed clean, towels had hairs (not acceptable). I had a pleasant stay in this hotel. The wireless internet speed was acceptable. My room was clean. Everything in general was good.

Great room. But our shower did not work, I'm sure they would have switched my room but I found out 2 hours before check out.

More Motel than Hotel, however the accomodation was basic but had everything we needed for our short stay. The furniture and decor was dated, but clean and the air conditioning was very noisey but did the job. For the places we wanted to see the location was great. 5-10 mins from the metro and a regular bus route just up from the hotel made it a good […] choice for Universal Studios, Sunset Strip and Hollywood. The man on reception was very helpful and arranged our taxi to the airport on a fixed rate price which worked out really cheap. We only stayed for three nights and for that length of time was fine but if you're planning a longer stay this hotel might not be for you. There is a resturant that also provides room service and a bar although we didn't sample the fare due to being short on time and having so much to see. Management kind of Rude......

The hotel is small and way to expensive for the quality of the hotel. Our room needed some real maintenance on the bathroom. When we checked in the receptionist was rude and demanded too much info that 5 star hotels don't even ask. Never staying there again.

Hotel bem simples, esta mais para um Motel do que para um Hotel, mas fica perto dos principais locais de turismo, so esta um pouco afastado da DISNEY. Limpo, com WI FI que funciona. Nada de mais!

Otima localização mas é um hotel extremamente barato em todos os sentidos, quarto mal limpo, banheiro pichado! Excellent localization but this is an extremely cheap hotel in every sense, the bedroom is not that clean nor confortable and the bathroom had graffiti! Really.

o hotel é razoavel, roupa de cama limpa, toalhas bem limpas , pessoal da recepcao e bem grosseiro.mas o custo beneficio vale a pena.

Nära till det mesta i Hollywood, motellet ligger dock i stadsdelen "little armenia" som är lite obehaglig på kvällar och nätter. Billigt boende, fri parkering och gratis wifi men det gäller att inte vara kinkig.

det var ett härligt motell med nära till Hollywood Bouleward valk of fame och chinese theater och mycket annat. Det tar bara ungefär 20 min att gå till Hollywood Boulevard det är paralellgatan ovanför Sunset Boulevard. Servicen är kanon tack vare en kille som heter Kurtis Swain han tog hand om dom flesta frågor vi hade och visade oss på kartan vi skulle […] gå...fixade taxi...beställde biljetter..han är the man på Dunes inn...så jag skulle varmt rekommendera detta motell till alla som ska till Los Angeles eftersom det ligger i själva Hollywood. Det är också lätt att åka tunnelbana eftersom Metro ligger bara 5 min från Motellet. Bussen nr 2 tar er hela vägen till Santa Monica Beach om ni vill. Bussen går utanför motellet på Sunset Boulevard det kostar 1.50 dollar p.p . Så min sammanfattning är att boka gärna detta Motell. Læs mere

Hotel liegt direkt am Sunset Boulevard und 5 Min vom Walk of Fame. Gleich hinter dem Hotel sieht man den HOLLYWOOD Schriftzug. Von aussen sieht es sehr sauber aus, das Zimmer war klein und schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen ... Es war aber alles da, was im Internet beschrieben wurde.
