Quality Inn Long Island City - Long Island City

Hotellet ligger med gåafstand til Manhattan og blot 150 m til Metrostationen. Værelserne er relativ små, men pæne og med god rengøring. I forhold til prisen er der et fint udbud af morgenmad, hver morgen - juice, kaffe, donuts og bagels. Vi var der en lille uge og var tilfreds med hotellet.

Upon checking in in the late afternoon on 3/27 the two front desk people were cold and uncaring. My son, the guest, had to stay for an extra night. When he checked back in on Thursday afternoon, March 29th, the young lady working at the desk at that time was very warm and caring. Her name was Secka, (or something like that.) At first glance, I thought this hotel was wonderful! Not hard to find off the subway in Queens (close to Manhattan), seemed safe, great staff and service, nice people, the hotel looks well maintained. I was impressed when I walked into the room as well, everything looked new and clean, as well as the bathroom. The breakfast is very basic and unhealthy […] (no fruits,just breads and pastries, cereal, etc..but that is expected at low budget hotels). HOWEVER, the next day I woke up with more than a few bed bug bites!!!! I'm sure that is hard to control, being that people come in and out, but this probably meant they do not wash ALL the bedding in between guests. This problem has happened at the best hotels, but it really disappointed me because I liked everything else about this hotel. I am positive that I did not bring it with me, because I came straight from my home in NJ and did not bring many things. Nice hotel and room. But the heat was pretty high and the mattress felt like it had plastic on it. Other than that close to the subway and great value for the price.

Hotel itself was very clean. Staff was helpful. There was quite a bit of noise from the subway but we left the tv on almost all night to drown out the noise. This is not a beautiful hotel, but it was clean and if you are in NYC you are not spending a lot of time in the room. It is really close to the subway and you can easily get into Manhattan. You can walk to better areas of Astoria or Long Island City for meals. There's very little in the close vicinity. Our room was a little musty, like the last people […] there smoked in it and they tried to freshen it with bad deoderizer, but overall we were happy with our stay and since it was so cheap, we felt we could splurge on a cab ride home from Manhattan at night. Our stay had mixed reviews, we parked on the side of the hotel and took some of our bags in and checked in, when we returned (10-15 minutes) to finish getting the bags we had a parking ticket - great start. I spoke with staff - not that I expected them to do anything but I would like to have been asked / warned about parking there. We arrived at night […] and you couldn't read the sign unless you were right under it. Room was clean, although the safe didn't work and the air conditioner / heater was loud. Also, although not overly bothersome the taxi company right behind the hotel has a loud speaker system and was periodically barking out orders at 6:00 AM. Close to subway was a plus. Læs mere

Room smells bad. Batroom too small.

Clean rooms, good service. 5 min walk to the 39th Ave subway station on the NQ yellow line.

The hotel staff were very helpful in giving us directions to a place to eat on Wednesday evening. They also let us park our car in thier lot till our meetings were over, which was several hours after we checked out of the hotel. We found the owners very helpful and friendly.

We stayed in the hotel for 6 nights and We enjoyed our stay at the hotel...especially for the price. It was clean and it was very close to the metro station. The neighborhood didnt look the greatest but on several occasions we walked to the hotel late at night and we felt very safe and had no problems. All of the staff were very nice EXCEPT FOR THE […] MANAGER..HE WAS VERY VERY RUDE AND HE HAS NO BUSINESS WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC. HE ACTUALLY GOT INTO A SHOUTING MATCH WITH US BECAUSE WE REFUSED TO LET HIM DOWN TO US LIKE WE WERE CHILDREN. THE CLERK TRIED TO INTERVENE AND EXPLAIN THE SITUATION TO THE MANAGER AND HE KEPT TELLING THE CLERK TO BE QUIET. I have never encountered anyone like this in my life before. We actually wanted to leave because of him but we had already paid for 6 nights. If it weren't for the managers rudeness, I would highly recommend the hote. Læs mere

This hotel is on N and Q line, easy access to Manhattan. Staff is very friendly and helpful, thumbs up! Room and bathroom is very clean, and it's equipped with HDTV, totally beyond expectation. The only drawback is the neighborhood: it was my first time to NYC, and there were some people wandering around that area on our way back to the hotel from subway […] station (only 2 minutes of walk!!). Overall, it is a very good hotel, especially if you have limited budget but don't want to squeeze with other people in a hostel, it's THE hotel you should turn to. Location is not really ....good . Nothing is around. But everything else is pretty good.

Close to subway. Convenient to all tourist attractions. Good value for the price. Slight tain noise.

Convenient access to Manhattan via the "N" or "Q" lines. Clean comfortable room, our second stay at this facility. Not a pretty area, but had great breakfast and lunch at a couple of restaurants within 3 blocks of hotel.

Great Hotel but the parking

The room is quite small - very limited closet/hangar space with hangers that fall off the rack with the slightest bump. The bathroom is also very small - so small that the towel rack is inside the shower, which means you have to pile all the towels up somewhere else to keep them dry whenever you are using the shower. The TV they provide has virtually […] no worthwhile channels, not even the basic cable ones that virtually every hotel has - no ESPN, CNN or any other news channel, USA, TBS, etc. The breakfast is decent but limited - cereal, bagels, a few pastries, toast, juice, and coffee. The noise of the elevated trains a block away was no problem at all. Overall, the single queen room was decent for one person, but for 2 or more people I'd recommend trying to get one with two beds or a king if you don't want the room to be too small. Læs mere

The price for 2people was extremely reasonable as we were only 4 metro stops, aprox 10 minutes from Time Square and the subway ran 24hours. Also, the subway stop called "39 Avenue" is right next to the Quality Hotel. In terms of cleanliness, the hotel was spotless and in particular the pillows in the bedroom were the best I've ever laid my head down […] on! Oh and for the girls, the hairdryers wer extreamly powerful, which was great!! Overall, it was cheap and cheerful and we intend on staying there again when we visit New York city! Læs mere

The hotel is very pleasant and quiet, even though very close to an elevated section of the subway. It's only a quick trip into Manhattan from here, which is in Queens. The hotel was fine, but there was no designated free parking , and you had to park on the street. Where I parked there was bits of glass from where a previous car had had its window broken . I found a crack pipe on the street just across the street from the hotel . So it APPEARS to be a seedy neighborhood, though I had no problem parking.

This hotel is near all important sights and is located in quiet neighborhood (except for the trains). The prices are acceptable. The staff is helpful and professional. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

This hotel is a great alternative for those seeking to save some money. Very nice, clean, modern hotel. Great customer service and good breakfast. Easy access to metro, we were able to get to times square in 10 minutes without any trouble.

Would pick diffirent area to stay

Hôtel agréable, petit déjeuner servit de 6h30 à 9h30 correcte (ne pas arriver trop tard), station de métro ( 39 Av ) à 3min à pieds qui vous mène en 9min à la 5ème Avenue. Chambre spacieuse et bien équipée.

Très bon rapport qualité prix. Excellente situation entre deux stations de métro. Petit déjeuner copieux.

Die Zimmer sind o.k., Betten komfortabel, Air-Condition laut, das Badezimmer älter, aber sauber und man freut sich über gratis-Internet und Wifi Fazit: Wer ein Hotel nur zum Schlafen braucht und sein Geld lieber ins Shopping in Manhattan investieren will, ist mit diesem Hotel gut bedient. Come già scritto in altre recensioni l'hotel ha tre difetti: 1) in quella zona la metropolitana viaggia su una struttura in ferro, il passaggio del treno si sente e se si ha il sonno leggero la mattina ci si sveglia al passaggio dei primi convogli. 2) l'impianto di condizionamento è rumoroso, di notte è da spegnere 3) la zona colazione è effettivamente […] piccola. A fronte di questi difetti, però, ci sono da considerare la pulizia (oggettivamente buona) e il costo (contenutissimo, considerando che si è a NY). Heerlijk hotel. Verbleef hier met mijn beste vriendin 6 nachten rond Oud&Nieuw. De locatie is echt ideaal: de metro is om de hoek (letterlijk) en die brengt je in 10-15 min naar Times Square of nog sneller naar Central Park/5th avenue. De metro komt wel dicht langs het hotel, wat enige herrie oplevert. Voor de lichte slapers zijn oordopjes dus aan te […] raden. Er is een lift, dus trappen lopen na een lange dag hoeft niet. De kamer was er mooi en het bed was heerlijk! Genoeg ruimte, mooie tv en een heerlijk warme douche met goede straal. Drie maten handdoeken p.p. die elke dag keurig vervangen werden. Er is ook een föhn, wat weer ruimte in de koffer van de dames bespaard. Ook was een een koffiezetapparaat op de kamer, wat erg fijn was. Als de benen 's avonds echt niet meer willen kan er ook eten besteld worden bij verschillende restaurants/pizzeria's in de buurt. Ontbijt is ook uitstekend. Keuze uit: drie soorten cereals met (choco)melk, verschillende soorten geglazuurde donuts met en zonder room in het midden, mini croissants, mini koffiebroodjes met walnoot, toast met boter/jam/cream cheese en verschillende soorten bagels. Daarbij is er koffie, melk (poeder voor choco, en kan warm), water, sinaasappelsap en appelsap. Ontbijt is tot half 10, maar uitslapen wil je toch niet in zo'n geweldige stad. Al met al hebben wij ons verblijf in dit hotel als zeer aangenaam ervaren. De hotels in Manhattan zijn vele malen duurder en lang niet altijd zo fijn. Zeker een aanrader! Læs mere

Einfaches Hotel MIT Frühstück ideal für die Städtereise. Liegt gleich neben der Subway, die einen nach Manhatten, Brooklyn, Flughafen,... bringt. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Todella viihtyisä hotelli erittäin lähellä Manhattania. Metrolle kävelee 2 minuuttia ja Manhattanille pääsee 5 minuutissa. Erittäin hyvä palvelu ja aamiainen oli riittävä. Oli juuri sitä mitä lupaa!! Suosittelen
