Hotellet helt fantastisk. Dejligt værelse, service helt exceptionel. Gratis internet, gratis parkering, gratis brug af fitness, spa, pool. Ingen ekstraudgifter. Eneste minus var, at Detroit downtown er - intet! Vi havde ikke planlagt et besøg i Detroit, men måtte blive her i 4 dage, da vores fly hjem blev aflyst. I reserved this hotel for my Mom, her sister and her husband to attend a personal family event. They absolutely loved the hotel -especially the rooms and the overall hotel service! This was our first trip the MGM-Detroit, we were celebrating our 44th anniversary. For the past 17 years we have gone to Las Vegas every April for our anniversary trip. But with the high cost of air flights, we tried someplace closer. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the gambling and thought the choices offered for dining were excellent. everything was top notch. the front desk staff, the valet, the bellman were all more than happy to help. the deluxe corner suite was the best room I've ever slept in. the bed was incredible. the fitness center was great. I was surprised to see that the fitness center was complimentary along with the wet and dry sauna. een the bathroom attendent in the […] fitness center went out of his way to make sure I had everything i needed. cant' wait to go back. The room was really nice, but while trying to sleep all we could hear were people in the hall yelling and screaming at all hours. When the yelling would stop we were constantly awakened by what we assumed was an ice machine making loud banging sounds. The hotel was nice but not worth the money in our opinion if you want some sleep!

Very elegant hotel with many emenities. I would love to stay here more often but is somewhat pricey!

The overall stay was very good the only drawback was standing in long lines at some of the restaurants featured due to the large crowd of casino participants.

The staff was either very friendly or not at all. The casino had very poor ventilation and the cigarette smoke was overwhelming. The non smoking area is way too small to accomodate

My stay at the MGM grand was excellent. The room and service was outstanding. The bell hops in particular treated me like a king. One in particular greeted me by name each time that I came thru the door. He received a large tip! The only negative during my stay was the maintenance staff. There was a leak coming from the refrigerator in the room and […] soaked through the bottom of one of my bags. When I called the front desk, they said that someone would be there right away, but no one ever showed up. Also, the ice machine had stopped working on my floor. As I was trying to get ice, the manager showed up. Apparently someone else had called about the ice machine. He apologized for the machine being broken and said he would have it fixed right away. I returned 15 minutes later and there were 2 maintenance men in suits standing at the machine (not working on it). They told me to go down stairs and get ice from the machine on another floor. They never once offered to get the ice for me. I know that sounds petty, but at the 5 star price they charged, someone should have brought the ice to me. As a matter of fact, the 20 year old bell hop that brought my luggage up did offer to get some for me. The maintenance guys need to get training about 1st class service from the bell hops! I returned to the ice machine twice later that night just to see if it was working and the same 2 maintenance men were still standing by the machine doing nothing. Over all, I would still return to the MGM. They room was absolutely fantastic. The turn down service was impeccable (great place to bring that special someone). The pool was breathtaking. My only advice...If you stay on New Years Eve bring your own ice for the champagne!!! Læs mere

Gorgeous hotel...what a shame the first floor casino allows smoking. Asphyxiatingly gross and so disappointing.....smoke so overpowering it ruined the ambience. Otherwise, this is easily the most exciting and visually fascinating city hotel in the midwest. Fine service from friendly staff was another plus.

This is a nice hotel, but is a bit pricey. The hotel amenities were nice, it was a very sleek looking hotel and the rooms were comfy. We got a free upgrade to the concierge level which meant we had a nice view and free "express meals." It was basically a continental breakfast a a snack bar, but it was very good food. I don't spend a ton on gambling […] so it was a bit much for me since most of the tables were $15 and up and I ran through my money a bit quicker than I'd like to. I bought nachos at the fast-food restaurant, pricey but very good. The only annoying things were they do allow smoking on the casino floor which I'm not used to and I didn't enjoy smelling like an ashtray when I got back to my room. Also, the rum and tequila bar "Agua" was really a ripoff. It was overpriced and didn't have anything particularly special on the menu...it seems like a fancy excuse to have a limited drink menu at the bar. I bought a margarita, I've had better and it was mostly ice. For what I paid they could have at least served it to me in a glass instead of a plastic cup. Aside from that, the dealers at the games were informative and friendly and there was a nice selection of table games. Aside from the smoking in the casino, the hotel was smoke free, clean and very nicely decorated. The bed was comfy and the room was very nicely decorated which a huge shower (even a little TV built into the bathroom mirror, very cool). FYI, DONT take anything from the mini-bar! It's automated and knows if you've removed something. I picked up a $60 bottle of ciroc and put it back and I think I was charged for it so I'm about to call to have the charge removed. Læs mere

We went to the MGM Grand Detroit and it was ecellent!!! Easily to recommend this hotel as all of the staff were over the top!!! Room was spacious and clean , casino was very large and clean , the only draw back to this trip ..and this has nothing to do with the hotel were the streets may be a little confusing. he hotel was top shelf and anyone thinking […] of going should.. Fantastic property to stay at for a overnight. It was as good of a room as I have ever stayed in for a visit. Just make sure you get a hotel and do not walk the streets around there as they are dangerous. Around the ballparks are great but the MGM is in a tough neighborhood that needs to be cleaned up!!!

Made Detroit feel like home. Can't wait to visit again!

Casino was filled with cigarettes smoke and the room was very dusty. Water in sink would drain very slow. Last, the room never got cool.

the hotel was top notch in every respect. My only complaint is that it was a little bit of a walk from certain attractions, but still manageable; and definitely within reach of a quick cab ride. The staff was absolutely on point with anything that you might need. I was a little disappointed that the blackjack tables were closed on Sunday morning, […] but it was Sunday morning, and I probably didn't need to play anyways. All in all, it was a great stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay downtown. Læs mere

VEry nice hotel only draw back is it is in a terrible part of town

room was fabulous but i was told when i booked it that the room had a balcony-was disappointed when it did not. Also, i left my pro curling iron in the room upon leaving-realized when i got home and called 3 times to housekeeping which told me they would check on and never called me back...

My traveling companion and I had not stayed at the Detroit MGM Hotel before, and we had a very good expereince. The hotel was well kept, and the service was very good. Everyone was helpful and considerate at the hotel as well as the casino.

The hotel at the MGM Detroit is superb, however there are some caveats that you may want to consider: Pros: - Hotel room is new, pristine and immaculate. - Gym and spa are excellent. Infinity pool is salt water as opposed to chlorinated. - Cisco IP phones in room were a nice touch. - The free car valet service/parking was prompt and very convenient. - […] Free wireless and wired internet access (though not very fast). - Concierge floor had a nice continental breakfast. Chocolate croissants were delicious. Concierge staff even put juice into a travel cup for us when we needed to take off quickly. - Bourbon Steak makes an impeccable medium rare cowboy ribeye. Highly recommended. Cons: - It is a casino hotel and you will have to make your way through massive amounts of second hand smoke from the slot players and tables to get to all restaurants and bars. I had cigarette stench on my clothes from a 2 minute exposure to Bourbon Steak. - Food court had food sitting around that could have been cooked days ago. I had shrimp with lobster sauce and the shrimp was completely mushy. - Wine list at Bourbon Steak was outrageously expensive, probably a 75-100% premium on bottles that are normally in the $50-150 range. - A Macallan 25 on the rocks was $110 at Bourbon Steak. Given a retail price of $600 per bottle and 1-1.5oz per shot, that's $27/shot. Holy sticker shock when we got the bill! Granted, overhead may be very high but a 4x multiplier? Wow! - The COBO center is not an easy walk and goes through some marginal neighborhoods. The Detroit people mover was not convenient. - Self parking was not convenient. We could not bring our bags through the casino and it was a very long outdoor walk to get our bags to the hotel from the parking garage at the other side of the casino. Læs mere

Casino was awesome, and hotel room was not far behind. Don't look for it or you will find it. Room appeared clean, but after close inspection.... shower had not been scrubbed. Had to request a re-clean.

If you are staying in Detroit, stay here! This is one of the nicer hotel/casinos I've seen and the service was awesome. The woman at teh front desk was very helpful and friendly, the dealers and pit bosses were amazing! I told one of them my tv wasn't working and they called several people until it was fixed. Just awesome! And the restaurants were delicious […] (pricey, but delicious). And once again, servers were exceptional. The only problem I had was security getting in and out of the casino. Although I do look young and it was an out of state ID, it was a constant struggle to get in. One guy insisted it was not me after showing my ID AND Passport and was trying to get me to sign my name. I understand they don't want minors in the casino, but the fact that I had to prepare for interrogation every time was annoying. The only item I marked as not 4 or 5 star was surrounding areas. I didn't like that I couldn't walk around - it just wasn't safe. But it's Detroit and I expected it. Plus, the casino offered everything I needed. Læs mere

I loved the spacious and squeaky clean tiled shower. But I would have loved it even more, if there were a stool to sit . The tile gets very slippery when wet, and there are no grab bars, bench or stool to sit.

The MGM Grand exceeded expectations for room quality and high-tech wizardry. The only down-side of the visit was the smoky nature of the areas near the casino, including the check-in areas.

The hotel has free valet parking and free wifi which are very nice perks. When I arrived the hotel desk clerk automatically said my room was not ready without even looking at her computer. I explained that I called from the airport and they said my room was ready. She was adamant about that I would have to wait an indefinite amount of time. Finally, […] I coaxed her into looking at her computer and sure enough my room was ready. If you do not like cigarette smoking then this is not the place for you. The lobby is next to the Casino and the entire hotel wreaks of cigarette smoke. Just walking through the Casino once made my clothes and hair smell like smoke. Even the guests picking me up commented on it. The room itself was decent, however the sheets had dried blood on them. I had them replaced but slept with my clothes on. I would not stay here again. Beautiful hotel with warm and cozy lobby. I loved the fact I could go grab a free coffee in the morning. The restaurants were very nice, little pricey but good food. The rooms were very modern, the phone was a touch screen, and the bathroom was very nice also. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Detroit. Room was extremely comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. Surrounding neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired for, but that's what you get when you're in Detroit.

The staff very courteous. Everyone was extremely helpful. Turn down service was a nice surprise. Attention was given to every detail. We were extremely pleased with security manning the hotel entrance at all times.

This is a hotel if all you want to do is Gamble and drink or Eat. nothing else to do there, but still a very nice hotel and the casino is nice, JUST everyone SMOKES and there is no Non smoking area in the Casino. The hotel itself is NON SMOKING

Holy cow, from the staff to the building, there's an entire SPA in this place! It's awesome. Not to mention like 5 places to eat and a CASINO! what more could you ask for?!

The MGM Grand Detroit proved to me to be one of the greatest hotels regarding amenities, quality, and service. I would definitely come back here again.

Everything about my stay was AMAZING!!! Room was awesome. The bed was SO comfortable.

Me and my wife stayed at the MGM Detroit and we felt the room was better than the MGM Vegas. We had a corner suite and the bed was the nicest bed i have ever slept in. Everyone in the hotel was very nice. Only thing i didnt like was showing my I.D. to security everytime we walked into the casino area, i am 34 and they would look at my I.D. hold it next […] to my face look at it some more yada yada.
