Hvis man får et værelse ud mod gaden må man forvente en del støj, men ellers et aldeles udmærket hotel. Morgenmaden får man i en restaurant i stueetagen - ejes ikke af samme ejer - den "inkluderede" morgenmad er ikke noget at skrive hjem om - alternativt får man 25 % rabat på morgenmad fra menukortet - helt ok.

Good location in Carmel. Rooms are dated and plain, but price is right. Good value in an overpriced town.

Booked well in advance. Told on check in that breakfast is no longer available. Even though I had already paid for that, I was not reimbursed. When I asked about it, I got a confused look and a promise to get a call from the Manager. That never happened. The walls are so thin you can hear the neighbor next doors' bodily functions. The hotel is very conveniently located and you can easily walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. The premium room was large and nicely decorated although the furniture was older and in need of replacement. Our room was not ready by check-in time which caused a slight inconvenience but overall it was a positive experience.

Great location, nice staff. Our room was downstairs, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. A little bit of noise from upstairs. We loved the location and would definitley stay there again.

Do not stay here. The heating system was out but the hotel manager merely shurgged her shoulders and said the entire hotel was having similar issues. No refund, no credit, no discount.

Nice place to stay in the downtown area. Perfect for walking to all shops and restaurants. No issues noted during our stay.

The hotel was a basic hotel. Location was good, but Carmel is a small town, so perhaps any hotel there will be in the good location. A room was clean and there were complimentary oatmeal, coffee and tea in the lobby. However, we were promised a full breakfast included when we booked the room on the web site. When we arrived, we were told it was a mistake […] because they stopped doing that last month or so, but the website was not updated (not our fault, isn't it?) According to the hotels.com ad, continental breakfast is supposed to be included with the stay, but in fact, the hotel just gave a voucher to be used at the restaurant located in the same building and promised to refund the rest of the bill. After returning home, I called the hotel 3-4 times asking for the refund they promised, but to this date (4 months […] after the stay) they have not sent us the refund. Everytime I call, either the manager was not on duty or they couldn't locate my file, and they NEVER returned my calls. Læs mere

The hotel maintenance and cleanliness of the bathroom was poor. There was mold in the bathtub. I checked out of the hotel after checking in and viewing my room. The hotel did not have any additional rooms to show me beyond the two I rejected.I knew I was in trouble because the lobby was poorly maintained. I learned the hotel next year will be demolished […] and a new hotel will be built. I did not stay a night. The room I selected did not look like the one represented in their on-line picture. We were happy with these accommodations - it was very close to town, the room was clean and quiet and we enjoyed the breakfast that was included. Would gladly stay here again.

This trip was my first to Carmel, and I discovered most of the lodging near downtown is older, motel type. Our traditional king room was small but no surprise considering it was an older building. Very clean with a comfortable bed. The location was excellent -- two blocks to Ocean Drive -- the main street for shops and restaurants. A little bit longer […] to the beach, but we enjoy walking. I was a little concerned about no A/C but the temps really cooled off at night and didn't need it.The breakfast which was included at the restaurant next door had several good options or you could take credit against a menu item -- service was excellent and food was good. I knew I wasn't booking a luxury hotel and I found the Carmel Lodge a good value for the money. Læs mere

No luxe here but a very reliable, comfy place to stay among more expensive hotels. Good beds in particular and very convenient to town and beach. Good wifi.

Spent a long weekend at Carmel Lodge. Very clean, service was great- wonderful location. About two blocks up from Ocean Ave in Carmel, perfect to avoid the sounds of traffic but walking distance to everything. The "Continental Breakfast" was a real treat, actually a sit down breakfast in an adjoining restaurant! The only suggestion would be coffee makers […] and fridges in the room but that was not a big deal. Loved it and will stay again! Læs mere

This hotel is quite old and in need of updating. The room we stayed in was at the end of a dingy old hallway that needed paint and hadn't been vacuumed in days. While the room was clean it was very very small with the bathroom big enough for only one. There was no counter space in the bathroom for toiletries. Good location though. Low quality, no vending machine, sad looking rooms, but topnotch hotel price.

This is a great hotel. It is in walking distance to the downtown area. We had an enjoyable time there.

Booked 2 of the premium rooms within a few days of trip down to Carmel. Paid more than normal, but was able to book a single night on a summer weekend when most hotels had 2 night minimums. The premium rooms have been nicely upgraded and had comfortable furnishings and relatively updated bathrooms. Everything was clean and new. Layout of the building […] is motel style, so entrance to each room comes straight from the breezeway adjoining the parking lot. Floors from the room above us were not thick; heard plenty of bed squeaks and heavy footsteps, but it wasn't terribly disruptive. Check in was easy. They were quick to offer a roll away bed for our kids, and brought extra blankets and pillows when requested. One of the door locks was a bit tricky and they came right out to gave us an extra key. Have previously stayed at Cypress Inn whilein Carmel. I would consider that to be a higher end hotel-like property, different price point and services. Would recommend both. Læs mere

A real surprise. Great location and although the room was "cozy" the BED was as comfortable as any of the Westin, W, Hyatt beds we've slept in...Great location...and the breakfast was a real treat. We'd go back in a minute.

Hey, you are in Carmel, and you shouldn't be in your room anyway. Our room was a bit small and didn't really have a workspace to set my laptop. The shower was also one of the smallest I've ever been in and the carpet was a bit old. Also, they put us in a downstairs room right next to the office, but we asked for another room and got one upstairs with […] a balcony. (Much better). Staff was nice, and room OK. Good location close to shops and the beach and ok for the price. Not a luxury hotel but fine for overnight stay. Has a pool and plenty of parking spots. Nice with the vouchers included for a small breakfast restaurant

This facility was not what we expected. The first rooms allocated were sub standard to all eight people in our group. After some discussions we were allocated more comfortable rooms. The breakfast provided in a small area adjacent to the reception desk was only just adequate if you were able to juggle and eat whilst standing or take your breakfast back […] to your room to eat. Loved this spot. Very sweet, helpful staff. Free breakfast was great. Our room and bathroom were small but it didn't matter seeing as there were only two of us (my husband and I) so it ended up being just perfect. It made it a more romantic feel anyway. The hotel restaurant/bar was closed with no previous notice and the make-shift continental breakfast consisted of rotten fruit and stale bagels. Overpriced~!

there is no place, table chair to sit down and it your breakfast.you have to stand and eat

Great location. My opinion is it needs renovation. Faucet was loose (later fixed) & the faucet leaked. Ironically a save water in Central California was next to the leaking faucet. Had the feeling that traffic volume is sufficient enough so that renovations won't take place as a priority. My daughter and I took a little trip up the coast and arranged both night stays through hotels.com. I was quite pleased with this hotel. It was a terrific location and after a long car ride the bed was wonderful. Loved everything about the hotel. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

A lovely hotel. We really liked the room - country style feel. Excellent central location. Only downside - the intercontinental breakfast was standing only, and often not much food left depending on what time you arrived. If they could improve that it would be an outstanding hotel! As is, its lovely and we would stay again.

My stay at Carmel Lodge was pleasant. The hotel was located at a quiet neighborhood, close to the main street. I liked the walk to the beach through the back streets. I would go back if I plan to go to Carmel.

I guess you get what you pay for, but I was sorely disappointed in the Carmel Lodge. our room was small and dirty (stained walls, upholstery, carpets, furniture that should have been replaced). it also smelled really musty and stale. the heater was very loud and made the room smell. at least the bed was comfortable and the duvet cover was nice (although […] the maids didn't really know how to make a bed). the worst was the CA Live Oak tree outside our door with the hanging strands of little inch-worms all over the place. every time you walked to the room you got worms all over yourself. the location is great so if you don't actually plan to spend time in the room this might be a good choice. I chose the Carmel Lodge because I was working at Sea Otter and wanted to bring my dog with me. that worked out great. I was aware of the dog fee (seems a bit high). Customer service was sub-par. I emailed the Lodge in advance asking if I could upgrade to a king or room with two beds. I also wanted to confirm that I had a dog room. I never received a response (although the desk clerk acknowledged that she had received my email). The girls were lazy and didn't replace my lightbulb when requested. They also weren't super helpful or friendly (something I would expect in a place like carmel). Would I stay there again? Maybe, but only if I couldn't find another place for a reasonable rate. On the outside the hotel is run down, frayed carpets, it has got zero charm. But the rooms are quite comfortable. The location is awesome and the rates a bargain. I would recommend highly

Good points about the Carmel Lodge- 1. It's close to Ocean Ave and is walking distance to and shopping, restaurants and the beach. 2. The room is clean. 3. They allow dogs to stay. Bad points- 1. They're bathrooms are small and outdated. Ours looked like it was done in the 60s or 70s. Sinks have no counter space, so you have to use the little table […] outside for your toiletries. 2. There was a fireplace in the room, but it wasn't clear if it was usable. 3. There was only one window that could be opened for fresh air, but it didn't seem like it had been open for a while. They provide a small standing fan for extra ventilation. 4. The walls are thin...we could hear our neighbors very clearly and a little too explicitly. Overall, it's an ok place to stay for the price and the area. If the bathroom had been nicer, I'd give this place a higher rating. Læs mere

My wife and I stayed for business and vacation. I went to work in a surrounding town, while she visited the local shops and restaurants. We loved the room. It was comfortable, good sized and quiet.
