Staff was horrible it took me 2 hours and 4 phone calls to hotel.com before they checked me in. The beds were lumpy. There were no ice bags for the ice buckets. The toilet wasn't working properly and the shower wouldn't come on. The staff was horrible. And was more concerned about warming up their dinner. I was able to sleep but I will never stay at […] this hotel ever again nor recommend anyone I know to stay there. Unfortunately it was my first time using hotels.con to book the room. Læs mere

The person at the reception was very courteous and helpful.felt very comfortable in the hotel,,,but the neighbourhood was not comfortable

The place was dirty, it didn't have hot water, and the towels were dirty.

The worst.

You get what you pay for. This a cheap hotel in Brooklyn it was ok, IF you can stand sleeping on a crunchy plastic on the mattres and the subway and bus noise.

I work in Manhattan and live on Long Island so sometimes when I work late I stay at a hotel. I have stayed at this hotel in the passed..I got the impression they were going to do some renovations. Well never happened and the place gets worse. I usually wake up to the garbage man throwing rocks at the rats so they can get to the garbage and empty it. […] My toilet would not flush in my room and when I moved the night stand I found a bag of weed. Hotel located 15 min away from manhattan on L train. Little rough neborhood but for the price you pay, can't beat that. Rooms were decent so were hotel employees. Wifi and complimentary breakfast, subway station just around the corner. I will definetly use this hotel again.

the hotel is right next to a subway that takes you down town Manhatan it's clean and it's the cheepest one we found but the quality of the room rocked!!!! we ever had the incuded breakfest!!! the best place you can find in NY nowadays.

We pulled into the parking lot to find 3 dead rats....nice welcoming party. Luckily, there were no rats or bugs on the inside of the hotel. The people were friendly. The hotel is literally right next to a subway stop that takes you into the city. Free parking and donuts in the morning. After we checked out on Sunday morning, they let us keep our car […] in the parking lot while we went in the city for the day again. The toilet, sink, and shower were clean as were the beds and the carpet. There was a shade on the bathroom window that was absolutely disgusting and appeared to have mold or poop on it, but other than that, nothing was really unsettling. The water pressure in the shower was good and the water stayed hot. For those who commented on the "shady" neighborhood--they must just not be used to an urban area. The neighborhood is not the best. The room was small and there was no smoke detector. The only good point is that it's right next to the L Train. 30 Minutes to midtown Manhattan

A very good hotel at a good price. A good 2-star hotel. Clean and nice room. Good bed. Nice bathroom. But a crappy breakfast, had to buy something else.

This hotel was dirty, the staff was rude, and your site mentioned we would have internet connection. We did not have internet connection. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I asked for extra towels and i was yelled at and told "no" 2 towels was enough!! That was shocking to hear. Not very appropriate customer service. This was honestly a filthy hotel. The only convenience was the parking, but there were so many rats running around the dumpster in the lot that you had to literally run to the door straight past the two prostitutes that were trying to pick up men leaving their cars. The neighborhood was one of the worst in NY we've ever stayed in and the hotel rooms […] were filthy. The ironing board cover had cigarette burns on it and was broken and left in the room. There was debris - batteries and gum wrappers on the floor in the room. Definitely NOT suitable for children at all. The one and only perk was the Chinese food restaurant across the street. We love hotels.com and have always had great luck, but we took a chance on this hotel and honestly would not recommend it to anyone. Læs mere

The motel is VERY convenient to take the subway to Manhattan (across the street). The room was OK (no bedbugs, but very firm bed). I asked for a minor maintenance task to be done, didn't happen. Would I go back????? Maybe.

As a basic place to stay when in New York, it is fine. There is a parking lot for your car and a subway stop right next to the hotel. Everything was fine except the tv stations on the tube were very limited. Good place to base yourself and get to the city. Wireless internet was fine. Nice budget place in a not too bad neighborhood.

Very rude and unhelpful staff. Made us pay cash deposit even though we had paid with Hotel.com. Later they returned it.

I booked a double bed room, got a single bed room. No apologies or anything. Just a "it's your fault, not mine" at the front desk. (no roll out bed either) Toilet was broken, they switched us to another single bed room. Our room was at the lowest level with broken curtains so people would walk by and peak in. Uncomfortable! Very noisy at night and when I called the front desk to complain the second time the staff hung up on me. At 1:00 am there is an alley right behind the motel and a dump truck pulled up and was very noisy for about a half hour. I was exhausted and not happy. I would never stay there again.

Cheap hotel, some TV channels didn't work, toilet wouldn't flush and there was no toilet paper. Other than that, comfortable bed, air conditioning and decent location.

The room was cheap considering how expensive it is to stay in hotels in NY, but even taking this into consideration I would never stay at the Red Carpet Inn again. The positives first - close to good subway line (L) Negatives - the neighbourhood was a little scary (both day and night) - one of the hotel staff was very rude and unhelpful. if you don't mind the rats in the parking lot, the poor english of the staff and you want some cheap place to stay this is for you.

Decent value for the money......saves over Manhattan.

Never again. This is really a motel and should not be listed as a hotel. The neighborhood is noisy and the windows are not sound proof. Although the bed sheets were clean, they did not changed the pillow cases. The elevator is dirty and the keyboard is disgusting. I would not stay at this hotel again even for free.

We stayed here for 2 days...We were cautious going into this stay based on reviews. It is a modest motel with limited amenities but it was clean, and no bed bugs! The staff is very helpful! Parking is free but they literally have maybe 10 spaces available! There is a good place across the street to get something to eat called the C&B Luncheonette. […] This is family owned with decent prices, good service and they are very friendly. The Subway going into Manhattan is literally across the street and the return station comes up next to parking lot. Lastly, MY ONLY COMPLAINT is the travel by car to this motel. Driving through this part of Brooklyn is HORRIBLE! Potholes galore. It was a nightmare and rough on my car! Læs mere

The pillow had slob stains on them, the bathroom was filthy, there were no towels, the bed had cigarrette burns. The maintainance man argued with me cause I went to his cart to get cleaning supplies!. The ice buckets were used as ash trays they were filthy. The bed was uncomfortable. The health department need to shut them down I am thinking about reporting […] them. The website said they provide bath robes they did not.. the location and the prices were reasonable. its close to the subway and its convenient. the place was clean and so was the room. there was really no hot water so that was a down fall and i found the personnel extremely rude. well one person in particular who came to my room yelling and screaming that there were no visitors allowed at anyt ime during […] the stay-not evennduring the day no exception..i found tha extremely unproffessional and offensive. they need some customer service skills. overall it was an ok hotel for the price ur paying. It was good price-value. If your plan is to stay in Brooklyn to visit Manhattan during the day I consider it a good and cheap option. It's next to a subway station. The rooms were ok, a lot of noises during the night though.

We asked the manager for the rote control, he said the housekeeper shall bring it on five mins, we waited a long time my hubby had to request it again. The cable didn't have enough channels also they didn't have any Spanish stations. The drapes were not attached together that the people from the ousted can look inside. You will get what you pay for. Not a bad hotel. The location is good, L train is right there and just gotta walk a couple blocks for the M train. One lamp shade was broken, the soap dish in the shower was broken, and the lock on the bathroom door was broken. It is a very simple hotel (motel). Easy to good to Manhatan (30min), subway just from of the hotel. Microwave and fridge in the room, so you can buy or make your food, for those that like a backpack tourist style. It was little noisy, street and other guests.

This hotel was very convenient to see New York on a budget. It was literally right next to the subway which made travel to Manhattan easy. Breakfast was bagels and doughnuts which suited us fine and were very tasty. Would definitely recommend to travellers who wish to see New York cheaply and fuss-free.

The place is very bare bones, but nice enough that a vary rare plate glass window greets you as you enter the lobby to check in. The good thing is this place is one of the cheapest around and right next to a stop on the L subway route. Get off at the Halsey exit and wallah you are there on the side of the building. The carpet is now black due to dirt. Would never recommend. The bedroom was small, bedsheets had hairs on them, spring mattress extremely uncomfortable. The comforter had a spot as if someone had burned it with a cigarette. Horrible cheap breakfast we did not even have a bite. The tray in the room for the ice tray was visibly dirty as if no one had […] cleaned in life. Horrible experience. Only good thing was that it was next door to the train. The hotel is right across the street from the L line subway that takes you into Manhattan in less than 20 minutes. That's about the only thing this hotel has going for it. It was a little pricey considering its location in a run down neighborhood, but the free wifi and subway make it bearable. Staff were nice enough until you needed or wanted something. An extra pillow took 2 days to get after dealing with 3 different front desk staff. Breakfast was not edible and the attitude was attrocious.
