The restaurant staff were approachable and they couldn't have been more accomodating in my request for a particular method of cooking my breakfast. The chef visited me personally to verify my needs. For what is cost it was fine although the room had a strong odur of stale cigarette smoke.

Had a nice time, and will be going back soon.

Really enjoyed stay. Staff very friendly, food very nice and excellent facilities.

Good standard of accommodation, very friendly and helpful staff, great food and excellent golf facilities... was great to whack a few balls after work at the range!

The reception staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome, the only complaint I had was the lack of servcice in the cafe bar upstairs. Everything had to be ordered from the bar and there was no table service at all. Very poor system indeed, the actual staff were very nice, but system needs changing please.....who wants to keep getting up through […] your dinner to order more drinks or extra bread etc... This hotel is great if you are looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is literally in the middle of nowhere...really quite and peaceful...However, it also means if you need to go to the supermarket you have to drive miles...

Stayed here whilst down in Essex on business. The club is very nice wuth comfortable bar with very friendly staff. Facilities were very nice with gym, pool etc that you would expect in any top hotel. The added bonus was a golf driving range and two courses to play on. Was to late for a round but spent hour on range hitting a few balls which was very […] relaxing. The members were also very friendly and happy to chat. No stuck up golf members here to make you feel like an alien! The thing that let the place down was the quality of the rooms. Bed was comfotable but nothing special. Furniture, TV etc were all pretty basic and bathroom again was basic with none of the touches that make it in any way special. A little bit of work on the rooms and this could be a top retreat but in saying this for the rate I paid would recommend it as well worth a visit. Læs mere

A pleasant small hotel with swimming pool and small sauna and steam room. Good service from a friendly staff. Slightly 'out of the way' but pleasant place for a short stay

The location is quite remote, we were there for a friend's wedding and ended up paying extortionate taxi fares to get anywhere so I would recommend using a car. A minor point, if you like a decent cup of tea with breakfast in the morning I would recommend you stay somewhere else! It was the worst tea in the world! Friendly and helpful staff. Great swimming pool. Excellent.

We stayed here with our 2 sons (5 and 7 yrs) and were pleased that they were both provided with a substantial camp beds (and not squashed together on a sofa bed) and plenty of towels. The swimming pool is lovely with a smaller children's pool attached. The bar meals are resonably priced and came quickly once ordered but the friendly service is slow […] and clearly fustrated many guests during our stay. Læs mere

Good size room, clean and great location if your flying into Earls Colne. We've stayed twice and very much recommend staying to anyone and would happily stay again. Well orgainised with a friendly night porter as wearrived after the reception had closed.

Nice location

Excellent hotel with swimming pool, beauty treatments and of course the Golf course. Quiet peaceful location and very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay enormously. Would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in this location. Ideal for A12 journey stop-over as not very far away from A12, with plenty of interesting […] little villages nearby to explore. We do not play golf, but my 8 year old daughter really enjoyed the swimming pool and was given first class attention by the beauty treatment staff. We plan to return again soon. Læs mere

We were touring from North Yorkshire back to the South area, and included this hotel on our way through. The hotel receptionist was very welcoming, and the public areas are well maintained. It is a health club and as such was busy with customers for the various activities. We were given our room key and instructions to find it which was in a separate […] block. The room was a lovely surprise; particulrly spacious and very clean. Very nice furniture fitments,and a welcome tray for tea and coffee. Excellent bathroom. The restaurant is situated in the main building, and had waitress service, and served a very good full english breakfast, There were many other options for breakfast, which was nice to see. The location was convenient for our day trips. The staff was marvelous and the food was good. The rooms were very clean. The upstairs deck with a lovely display of flowers which overlooked the golf course was a nice ammenity also. I would certainly stay again.

If you like a quiet hotel in the country side this will do nicely. There is a great gym and pool attached to the hotel and you must remember this is a golf club first off so the dining area isn't great. The room was clean large and comfortable, the only down side was that i overlooked the car park rather than the golf course. In future i would ask […] for the Golf side as there were early golfers arriving in the car park as well as delivery trucks which did disturb me in the early hours. Læs mere

Rate when I booked was very good. Facilities excellent, location excellent, staff mostly helpful. However, one staff member at the Pulse Bar was blatantly talking about me to another colleague while I was waiting for a dessert which they couldn't deliver to my room because they were "too busy". Lovely quiet setting,we had a room overlooking golf course. hairdryers do not work for more than 5mins before cutting out you need to wait til it cools down before using again. Facilities are very good with pool providing lovely soft towels.You do have to walk outside to get to restaraunt and reception which is okay if good weather but if raining could […] be a problem. If you dont want cooked breakfast there is only cereal and fruit juice, no croissants, danishes etc. For the money we paid it was great value. leisure facilities are great. Læs mere
