Good basic hotel in Southampton. Nice rooms but not all that big due to the age of the building. Beware, no computer in lobby for checking in ect. and wifi costs £13 for 24 hours. Breakfast ok, nothing advanced. Please note that you might want to bring earplugs - there's a bar on the other side of the street that tend to get quite noisy especially Thursday-Saturday nights.

Hotellet ligger ned af en hyggelig sidegade fra byen gågade, så dejlig tæt på shopping, cafe, pub, park,osv. altså tæt på alt det man behøver når man som os ikke havde lejet en bil og kun brugte toget til sightseeing. vi fik værelse nr 1 og det må ha været det største af dem, lige inden for døren på venstre hånd. ( hvis man skulle sætte fingeren på noget dårligt, var det nok at værelset var MEGET lydt, man kunne nemt høre biler og mennesker passere forbi) men da det var en ret stille gade føltes dette aldrig som noget problem. servicen var bestemt i top, rigtig flinke, og meget hjælpsomme, der sad stort set altid en ved disken man kunne spørge hvis man havde brug for hjælp. Der var morgenmad inkluderet, og man kunne få en ok full english breakfast hvis det er det man er til, ellers var det mest kornflakes oasv, vi kunne måske godt ha savnet noget frugt. der blev gjort rent hver eneste dag, også selvom vi sov længe og man kunne høre de havde været alle andre steder. alt i alt et godt hotel til prisen, hvis man skal besøge chichester.

Dejligt hotel med en fantastisk beliggenhed ned til vandet. Utroligt familievenligt med både indendørs og udendørs pool samt en dejlig legeplads med udsigt over vandet. Utrolig behagelig betjening både i receptionen og i restauranten.
Placering.
De Vere Venues New Place er i landlige omgivelser og ligger i Southampton. Der er attraktioner såsom Fort Nelson i omegnen. Ekstra attraktioner i regionen er bl.a. Spinnaker Tower og Winchester Cathedral.
Hotelfaciliteter.

"Plesant once you have found it"
Nice rooms all be it not in the main building.My room was well presented well equiped, clean and warm on arrival. The hotel is well out of town and not that conveinient for Southhampton or the M27. Botley the nearest town is very pleasent and has a bit to offer in the way of resturants etc and the food at the hotel is also Ok. If you have the time to […] use the leisure bits of the hotel it would enhance your stay. I was here on business and not sure I would say again based on location. during our stay there were two weddings and we did not hear any noise at all. the pool and sauna was open all day and very nice to use.

"De vere new place"
Although this Hotel is about 20 Miles from Southampton it is in beautiful surroundings all kept clean, The grounds are beautiful to walk around and the Sauna,Pool and Jacuzzi were relaxing after a hard day. Although you dont actually stay in the old manor house the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean although a bit on the small side. I will definatly […] stay here again just not to travel to Southampton which by the way is £35 in a taxi after 10PM and £20 before. Læs mere

"Reminded me of army training accommodation"
We booked room with the promise of a cot but when arrived no sign. Receptionist very courteous and notified housekeeping. Housekeeping could only provide travel cot and one bed sheet as they had no cot linen, fortunately I had brought a cot duvet and pillow for my child. Room very small and with travel cot too made it very cramped. The rooms are set […] out like army billets and are not that well soundproofed. Very dark rooms plus one of our light bulbs was not working. Became very hot and airless in our room, even though turned radiator down and windows opened to their max. Very noisy when other guests passing our room and no cbeebies channel. Was not a pleasant experience none of us could settle. Our whole weekend was ruined, thanks De vere. We should have stayed with a chain that guarantee a good nights' sleep. Læs mere

"Couldn't have asked for more"
Had an absolutely fantastic stay here! The room was beautiful and the restaurant was very reasonably priced for some really first class food. The staff were wonderfully helpful, couldn't have asked for better service. Lovely area, good proximity to both Southampton and Portsmouth, and plenty of pleasant local pubs within very easy walking distance. Lovely […] bonus having free access to the leisure facilities, very nice pool, spa and sauna. "Don't be fooled by the pretty house....."
Well the house was lovely, however we didn't read the fine print and we arrived to discover we would be staying in small chalets situated in the grounds. Very odd. Lovely room (bit small) but did the job for a one night stay. Food in the bar, lovely! Plus great value! We paid a discounted rate for the room, and we got more than we paid for with the […] leisure facilities inc. I would say if we were paying the normal price tag, the review would be very different, as the chalet arrangement screamed holiday camp, not hotel. Læs mere

"New Place Hotel in Shirrell Heath"
We chose this hotel because it was near to the home of our son and his family. As it happens, I was stricken by a 24 hour bug on the first night and my wife suffered it on the third night. For a day in bed, the room was a very comfortable place to be able to rest and recover. On the days when we were able to breakfast in the dining room, we enjoyed […] the extensive choice of food. However, there are two points which we feel the need to criticise: The breakfast table laid out included a very dirty knife which had obviously bypassed the washing system. Full credit to the waitress who replaced it instantly but it should not have been on the table in the first place. We stayed in the same hotel earlier in the year and Sunday breakfast then and again on this occasion was very, very busy. Why oh why is the reception desk right in the place where people are passing through carrying their breakfast choices. Would it not be better to situate the computer etc. a few feet away beside the staircase ? We expect to stay again at New Place when we visit family again possibly late in 2012 or sometime in 2013. "Very nice place to stay, but a bit far from city"
If you are looking for a place different from normal hotels, this is a place to be. Very large open spaces (it even had a cricket ground!) and very big premise. Even though it is 6-7 miles from nearest town (Southampton), you will feel that the drive is worth because of the old style architecture, nice staff, decent quality rooms and nice food.

Manor house was beautiful, but you get to stay in the modern accomodation block adjacent. Staff very freindly, and good pool facilities, but accomodation very tatty. Shame really as a lick of paint would not cost that much.
Great bed. Rooms a little tired. As a lone business traveller it works. For leisure it might be a little disappointing.
"Great stay"
Great hotel - clean and comfortable room with fast, free wireless internet access. Parking directly outside my room. Only downside is that the hotel is difficult to find at night (not visable from the main road, it's off down a side street so keep that in mind). Would definately recommend.

"De Vere New Place - poor disability access"
Accompanied a powered wheelchair user and was aghast at the the poor provision at this hotel for wheelchair users. On first sight the single storey accomodation and paths looked promising and were very positive and lovely but:- - wheelchair access to the bar area was through a messy courtyard and grotty kitchen storage area. Totally unacceptable. - […] the ramp down the steps to the bar was not secured, very unstable and too steep. Unacceptable and unusable. Room for a permanent fixed ramp available but not implemented. - Disabled toilet for the bar area only accessible down this ramp so it needs addressing. - All tables for drinks in the only accessible lounge in the bar area were too low for wheelchair users to use. - hotel room only accessible through a heavy door to the outside. No powered doors allowing independent access to rooms or for use in an emergency ie fire. Unable to be used by any wheelchair user, rooms allocated for disabled guests need to have powered doors. All of the above points could be easily addressed to make this hotel a wonderful stay for ALL visitors. Læs mere

"De Vere New Place Hotel, Southampton"
small double bed; we are used to at least a king size bed in better accommodation for less price. Hotel facilities ok for fair weather absolutely nothing to do in the rain. Radiator in the bathroom had been leaking for some time and still was. Very noisy generator outside room running all night. no directions apparent to coffee lounge which took us […] several walking diversions to find in the rain after asking 2 different members of staff! "Devere holiday camp"
This hotel is more like a holiday camp with the rooms in chalets. My room was incredibly hot being on the south side and in the roof space. As a result I did not get a good night's sleep.

This hotel is like a little village, Some people might not like the chalet type rooms , but in all honesty they are really ok. I only stayed for i night and wish it could have been longer.. The bar food was excellent quality. A great place to go to unwind.
"Beautiful Country House Hotel"
Beautiful place in a stunning setting. Excellent service, and very good substanial breakfast,at bargain price. Only niggle being the high cost of drinks; but this appears to be the same everywhere nowadays. Will definetly return. The complimentary wifi was also a bonus, as so many establishments charge very high prices for it.

i can really recomend the restaurant and the bar, fantastic atmosphere at more then fair prices. well trained young stuff, friendly and helpfull !

Very good hotel, friendly reception & truly great restaurant, just a shame that there is distance between the accomodation and the restaurant. Okay if it's dry, but a pain if it's wet.
