We used this hotel as a base for a visit to Alexander Palace. Crews Hill station is 3 miles away from the hotel, and the journey to Alexander Palace took only 15 minutes. Good location for travel into London on the A10 and along the M25. Staff at the hotel were very helpful. Disaqppointed with the self-serve english breakfast as the food was not kept […] hot, and the scrambled eggs had a powdery texture. Læs mere

the stench of cigarette smoke was overpowering and was eminating from the duvet on the bed.this resulted in an awful and disrupted nights sleep.there was also a lot of noise from the corridor where a store room was located

A BEST HOTEL I EVER FIND.

Staff friendly. Room good. Two major drawbacks.... Room right next to a corridor with a fire door that was in constant use and banged shut. Very little sleep. Check out was 10.30 which is very early but you could pay an extra £10 to stay until 1.00!!!!!

The location was good, close to M25 yet very quite and tranquil. The room was very quite with a very comfortable bed. Didn't get chance to try out the gym.

very nice hotel. friendly staff. hotel is in 3 parts. old part has biggest rooms. new part is ok. stable block out the back is very nice if weather is good as it has own courtyard. bar food is so-so and expensive. complimentary coffee, biccies & fruit available in the bar. i frequently use when special offers are on. very good value.

Really nice location for this renovated country house and the grounds form a great feature. The hotel is pretty extensive - there was a wedding in the main house when we stayed, but we didn't hear it from our room in the other wing. We had a seperate restaurant and bar facility, and we got a free fireworks display from them! Worst feature: Small-ish […] bed, more of a large single than a good double. Decent size room though, but it looks like it is optimised for individual business stays rather than couples. Can't comment for the rooms in the other wing though (main house). Best feature: Dinner was very good - much superior to hotel 'chain-standard' food. A chef had obviously invested some care. Overall, we'd stay here again. Læs mere

I like this hotel and have stayed here a few times. The rooms are large within the main building, modern and comfortable. The downside is that the catering in the hotel is a let down, very expensive drinks, and the food has gone down in standard. The meal we ordered was slow and it was a quite evening , the meals arrived luke warm and were small portions […] dressed up as artistic displays, next time we will eat out, which is a shame as the hotel has the potential to be very good. My recent experience at this hotel as a business and leisure traveller has meant i may spend more time at the village elstree which isn't to far away which offers better options where food is concerned. For what is advertises to be, it met all the expectations. The countryside location and the grounds were impressive. I think if they could, a spa on site could improve fortunes. Most importantly, I think the staff (especially) the front desk ones could be a lot more welcoming and interactive.

If you're looking for a nice, comfortable hotel to stop over at, this is the perfect place. Cosy for couples and families alike, De Vere try and accommodate your needs or spend the whole time in the room and you won't regret it!

Decent enough hotel. Asked to move room as it was a very hot day and the room had no airconditioning and the window didnt open very wide. The hotel staff were very accommodating with the room change and although the room was slightly larger and had airconditioning its bathroom was not as clean as it should have been and the bed had not been completely […] made. Front desk staff was useless. For a place that prides itself on excellent service, you'd think they'd start there...

The hotel is approx 30 minutes from London Liverpool Street station. A nice hotel. Add costs of train tickets (16 pounds round trip) + taxis (8 pounds each way + tips). There is no restaurants near the hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice campus.

Stay away alot. This was the best in a long time. Beautiful surroundings, gorgeous room. Lovely products in bathroom. Noise from next door a bit excessive but hey, what a place!

Booked hotel online via Hotels.com. Nice hotel, easy to find not far from the M25 motorway. Excellent value for money - seems I am not allowed to post price paid in this review? (Use to be the retirement age for woman in the UK) room only. Then paid extra for the breakfast which didn’t match the quality of the hotel. It was edible but much of it was […] over cooked & the plates were COLD. I’m sure they would have warmed one up; but why should I need to ask for this. It should be normal to have hot plates – rant over. Stayed in the stables block. Nice & quiet. Location 4* Hotel & Service 4* Breakfast 3* But excellent value for money. very nice hotel and staff were good,beautifull grounds,good room and facillities,fantastic breakfast,just dont bother with the bar food.

The Devere Hotel was just as expected, a very nice hotel in the middle of a gorgeous parc. Very quite, for people looking for rest. The hotel is a wonderful Manor, the rooms are quite big with all the confort. Not that far from London about 35 minutes train to Liverpool Street.

The man on reception was very polite and told us exactly what we needed to know. I wasn't expecting our room to be in a separate building 'The Ridings' but I thought it would be nice and quiet...unfortunately, I think they put a lot of people in that area on the night we stayed and it sounded like there was a party in one of the rooms, with people coming […] and going, shouting loudly etc. and this kept going until quite early in the morning. This ruined it a bit for us as we had intended on having a quiet night away and it felt a bit like we'd been put in the 'rowdy area'....which was a shame. The room was very nice, smaller than I'd expected but very nicely decorated. We didn't have very good reception on the television and it didn't seem like we did have Sky channels but again, for the amount of money that we paid, it was fine. Læs mere

my self and my wife needed a local convienent hotel and de vere was outstanding beautiful grounds and very helpful staff we were so impressed we are staying there again at the begining of january

Beautiful location & historic house. There's a need for it to be refurnished, looking tired and dated. The most shocking thing is that my wife opened a side draw and there was used condoms left there!!. No doubt and oversight by the cleaner and the management were apologetic and helpful with the matter. But not what you expect. As it's an old manor […] house the walls are thin so you can hear the cleaners outside which is a bit of a pain first thing on a sunday morning. Læs mere

Bor her hver uke da jeg jobber i London, hotellet er fint, restauranten har god mat, veldig stille og rolig området og likevel sentralt

Fint hotell med flere bygg. Litt dårlig internett tilgang på "låven" men fin restaurant med veldig god mat, gode senger, fine bad, godt rengjort. Alt i alt veldig bra. Booket meg inn der flere ganger i ettertid

Le bâtiment principal qui date du XVe siècle est très intéressant et l'hôtel dispose d'un magnifique parc. Malheureusement, les bâtiments modernes sont architecturalement inintéressants et donc cela casse l'ensemble. La propriété est très mal entretenue (bouteilles de bière un peu partout, mégots de cigarette, déchets, dépendances à l'abandon, etc.) […] et l'accueil peu engageant. Malgré l'aspect historique de l'ensemble, cet hôtel maque singulièrement de charme, de classe et de style. Le Manor of Groves, qui repose sur le même concept d'un ancien manoir dans un parc et qui se trouve à quelques kilomètres de là, est bien plus intéressant et recommandable. Læs mere

Séjour magnifique, hôtel situé dans un cadre agréable au milieu de la fôret. Qualité de service exceptionnelle! Une toute petite déception, aucun personnel ne parlant le français. Hôtel à recommander!

Trevlig personal, bra mat, bra rum. Ligger 20 km utanför London. Ta för guds skull inte taxi ända in till London. Det är dyrt och skitjobbigt i tät trafik. Att ta taxi till närmsta tågstation var billigt och fungerade utmärkt.
