Beverly Laurel Hotel - Los Angeles

Et fint hotel til pengene! Vi havde 3 nætter på Beverly Laurel Hotel og var ret tilfredse med hotellet og dets beliggenhed i forhold til shopping/gå i byen. I bil tager det 10 min til "the strip" og det samme til Melrose Ave, så man er hurtigt dækket ind. Parkering i kælderen var et plus.

første indtryk af hotellet en sen aften var ikke spændende, men jeg må sige ,at det vandt ved nærmere bekendtskab.Det var ikke luksuriøst, men det havde vi heller ikke forventet. Det var i gåafstand til gode spise-og shoppesteder,nabolaget var meget varieret, lige fra de hjemløse, der trillede afsted med deres indkøbsvogne,til de nydeligste villakvarterer. […] Det var nemt at bruge busser til at komme ind til byen- de kørte bare ikke særlig ofte. Vi fik al den hjælp vi havde brug for af en meget venlig receptionist. og efter at have betalt 18 dollar i døgnet for parkering i San Diego var det billigt at betale 5 for en overvåget p.plads. vi kan kun anbefale stedet . Det er et helt ok hotel. Der er ikke noget særlig interessant lige omkring hotellet, så selv om det ligger "centralt" i byen er det forretningsområde, hvor der ikke er meget liv. Dejlig gårdhave med swimmingpool i midten.

Lidt gammel hotel med fint til prisen. God beliggenhed 15 minutter i bil til supper strand og til Hollywood. I gå afstand til Famers Marked, 5 minutter. Meget hjælpsom i reception. Vil bo her igen.

Havde 2 overnatninger.Et fint lille sted beliggende centralt i Los Angeles. Hyggelig gårdhave med lille Pool. Nemt at komme til og fra. Den fri parkering er et stort plus. Vi havde værelse væk fra vejen og var ikke generet af trafikstøj, hvilket jeg kan forestille mig at de var fra værelser vendende ud til Beverly Blvd.

Well all i can say is the location was good and the diner next door was goodas well. as far as the hotel it was pretty bad.. The shower was like a power washer with a psi of 3000. the air conditioning was from 1970 and hard to reach because it was so high on the wall I had to use a chair to adjust the controls. The refrigerator froze all our drinks […] . Then we were charged $5 a night to park and the lot was so strange and small like something out of hitcock movie. $5 a day for internet and a $2a day service charge for what??? When I questioned at the front desk they could not explain what it was for. Then he said it was for taxes. Horrible . I felt like I got pick pocketed. Not an enjoyable stay. Læs mere

This hotel is not high end by any means. But it's really quite good on a budget. It's centrally located in West Hollywood, has a diner connected to it, and feels safe. The rooms are showing some wear. There was a plumbing problem on my last day. They fixed it pretty quickly but it sounds like this kind of thing pops up from time to time. All fine for a night's sleep. Only issue is that the room lighting was a little low. The shower very large which was nice. Older property that is well maintained.

Very clean, convenient to Hollywood/Beverly Hills, I requested a renovated room on the third floor based on other reviews and got one, found it to my liking. Would definitely stay again. Swingers was great, ate breakfast there twice and stopped by late at night. Not much in the immediate neighborhood, but The Grove was within easy walking distance.

I'm used to more upscale hotels but this place was very clean and the people were nice. I have no complaints at all :) I would stay here again if I had the need to stay in Hollywood.

This place is terrible. Shouldnt be in BH...I would have been more comfortable at a Travelodge or the like. Service and manager was offensive and rude.

This hotel is very quaint. It was built in 1964 and seems to have stayed there. Our room was very large with a old microwave and small refrigerator. The bed was a California King and was comfortable but needed to be replaced. The shower was nice but needed a new shower head. Unless you like getting pelted by a hard mist. Service of the staff was exceptional. I was quite pleased over-all with the stay. The only reason I gave a 4 for cleanliness is because the housekeeping staff left our dirty towels in the sink and didn't know how to make up our beds properly. The sheets on the second night didn't cover the mattress...It was like they just threw the cover over top, and […] even that was not on straight. The beds were comfortable; more so than the marriott where we stayed the night before. Parking is good, albeit $5/day. There were some complaints about minimal parking, but they've got a garage under the hotel and 8-10 spots back in the alley entrance. I asked them if they were full, would they have a spot, and the FD agent there said in worst case, they would allow you to park in the courtyard. the other thing is internet which is $6 a day PER DEVICE. kinda old school, but whatever. I managed to use the FREE swingers internet from my room because the signal was so strong. Swingers Diner attached was amazing. Excellent food. I HIGHLY recommend their ahi tuna sandwich. It was out of this world. Best diner I have ever been too and plenty of quality ingredients and menu options. I will stay here again, no doubt about it. Best location - only a few blocks to the grove and farmers market and Fairfax with great shopping. In the other direction a huge mall at the end of Beverly Blvd. Close to WeHo gay area as well, just a $7 cab ride or 30 minute walk. BLH is now officially my favorite place to stay in LA Læs mere

Great part of walkable LA. Swingers is delicious. We stayed in an amazing huge room on the corner behind the cool "Beverly Laurel" sign seen from the street. However, they need to step it up with the cleanliness. Felt a bit damp and grimy.

The hotel is great. It is dated but some rooms are renovated and the location is great if you need to be by Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. The price is economical and hotel is well worth the price. Adjacent cafe is great. Parking is reasonable. Very 1960's LA feel.

We were happy to find this place on hotels.com. Stayed her only one night on our way to San Diego from LAX. It is an old hotel with lots of history. Loads of photos of famous people that stayed and partied here in the hey-day of Hollywood. Very convenient. Free parking. Room was very nice and remodeled in the theme of the good old days. A great diner […] attached to the hotel on the corner. Probably a landmark although we don't know the area. Not a 5-star hotel in any means, so if you are not into something with character and have an experience, stay somewhere else. I would recommend this place to friends and definitely stay here again. we had a great experience as always at the Beverly Laurel hotel. swingers has long been my favorite place to grab breakfast lunch and dinner in LA. The rate was very good given the location and overall quality of the hotel. However, during my stay there the elevator was not functioning, forcing long climbs to get to top floors. Also the room was not well insulated from noise made by other guests smoking and hanging out on the outdoor walkway outside the room.

The rooms were loud and not very clean. The shower was missing the shower head. The mini fridge was broken. The front staff were rude and not accomodating. They nickle and dime charge you for everything - parking, "energy fees", wi-fi, etc. so the rate adds up and is not worth it.

When we arrived, the man at the front desk let us know where to park, but failed to tell us that there was a charge for parking. Granted it was only $5, it still would have been nice to know that. The room was clean, large and pleasant (we stayed in a corner room). It seems like the place was surface clean, but could use a good deep clean and perhaps […] some new furniture and carpet. There was also a broken down car in the garage which was an eye-sore, and took up an extra spot (the garage was full when we returned at night, but there were other spots above ground). The blanket on the bed was quite thin, but when we called the front desk to ask for an extra blanket, they quickly brought one up. Check out time was noon, which was nice. And breakfast at the trendy diner downstairs was very good. I would not stay here again, but for a one night stay and for the location, it was fine. Læs mere

I loved the retro appeal of the hotel! The only thing is that there are a few charges that I was not really anticipating upon arrival. Like the charge for parking at the hotel, WiFi, and energy cost for using the microwave and fridge that is located in the room. I mean come on, like the room charge isn't enough to cover the cost of using the fridge? […] over all the experience was great though, friendly staff and there's a cute little diner called Swingers right on the corner of the hotel's building! This hotel is dreadfully outdated It could be so cute if the decor was updated, the rooms repainted, linens updated, and some of the bulky,old furniture removed. It has great potential. The refrigerator did not work, the top dresser drawer was broken and fell forward if pulled out, the ironing board would not stand up. The cabinet in the bathroom seems […] to be missing a sliding door and is marred and scarred. The restaurant downstairs is terrible. Parking in the alley behind the hotel is kind of scary at night. Outside, it looks like an average motel like place with rooms surrounding a pool in the middle. The elevator was small and slow and we had to use an actual key to open the rooms. However, the room was quite nice and spacious with a flat screen TV. If you want to be up all night, then this is the place for you. I was supposed to spend two nights & checked out after one. It was so noisy from about 3:00am to 4:30am. I was so cold because the blankets are very thin.

This motel was ok----I guess I'm not use to staying in a motel(all doors are facing a courtyard). A lot of noise compared to a hotel,(street noise,doors slamming, heavy walking above your head) you hear it ALL!! Location is great. Two blocks from the CBS studio and 9 miles from the airport. Pictures show flat wall mount TV and Photoshopped different angle images, but the reality is a lot different. Way over priced, I was familiar with the area so was expecting a lot more. The "Swingers Cafe" down stairs does have some amazing food though.

This hotel is over priced and not of the best quality. We had dirty towels and a rat hole next to the refrigerator. The rooms are a nice size, but a little ruin down. They allow pets, which was helpful, however they charge $50 a pet a day. Internet is an addition fee and you can only use one device on it. As is the parking, but be careful of you drive […] a larger vehicle. The parking garage and spaces are small. The location is ok. It's a 10 min drive to the Hollywood area and 21 mins to the beach. I stayed here because of the value I was quoted over a three night weekend. The hotel is in a good neighborhood with cheap parking and WiFi near West Hollywood. The downside? It's loud, as the windows look out onto the pool (think "Melrose Place"), and the room definitely needed to be remodeled. I live in LA and put my father up in this hotel bc it was somewhat affordable and convenient and I thought it was supposed to be a very cute & retro place. The rooms only have window units - and the one in my dad's room froze up and would not work.Also - the hotel charged the credit card used to make the reservation - which to me is not the norm. Nor […] was it stated anywhere that the charge would be made prior to arrival or even checkout. When we asked to change the payment card the front desk attendant said we would have to do it at checkout and the reservation card would need to be present. On the departing day the front desk attendant spoke so little english that we could not get the cards changed. If your looking for a reasonably priced place to stay that is quite accessible to the popular tourist attractions like Hollywood Bvld, Rodeo Dr & Universal Studio and ur not looking for glamor accommodation than I would recommend this hotel. Local bus 3 min walk will take you to Hollywood Bvld & metro from Bvld will take you to Universal. Farmers Market […] is 10 min walk from hotel & u can get on Hop on Hop off bus tour there. There's a diner next door that does lovely good priced food. We had a good enough sized room with 2 comfortable queen beds, big table with tv, small kitchen type area with fridge & microwave, (but be warned there is no utensils, plates etc they don't provide them, they will recommend where you can buy some ??). Bathroom was ok size with just shower but it was very clean as was the rest of the room except for the fridge which was a bit dusty & dirty and quite old looking. I couldn't find any other accommodation this central close in price to what we paid, everything else although probably more glamorous was way dearer and as I said if your just looking for somewhere to store your luggage & sleep this hotel is more than adequate. Room was not well kept, very old and needed much TLC. Had a musty and old smell as we walked in and AC was not working throughout the duration of our stay.
