Godt og rart hotel. Ingen særlig luksus og lidt afsides beliggenhed. Til gengæld pænt og rent, god service, samt gratis wi-fi på hotellet. Tog fra lufthavnen går lige til døren - bogstaveligt talt. Meget fine sporvognsforbindelser til centrum, men absolut også overkommelig gåafstand.

Små (rene) værelser og begrænset morgenmad, men opvejes af super beliggenhed og god service!

Hotellet er af ældre dato, men er i fin stand med hyggelige mere moderne værelser. Værelserne er ikke de største, men der er hvad man har brug for. Personalet er rigtig søde og vil gerne hjælpe med både det ene og det andet. Hotellet ligger super centralt med sporvognen kørende lige ude på vejen (Dette kan høres når de bimler og bamler med klokken, men ikke noget der der irriterer, mere som en hyggelig lyd à la "nu kommer sporvognen igen".) Hotellet ligger super centralt, lige ved Union Square. I området ligger der mange små caféer, dinere, butikker osv og 300 meter nede af gaden ligger der en metro station (en Bart) hvor man kan tage toget til yderområderne. På samme sted er der et hav af busser som kører alle steder hen i byen. To af SF´s tre sporvogne har også endestation lige nede af gaden. Alt i alt et rigtig dejligt hotel. Vi var i SF et par dage inden vi rejste videre syd på. Hotellet var helt ideelt. Både pga at det var hyggeligt, med i høj grad også pga beliggenheden. Det var nemt at komme ud at spise, nemt at komme i butikker og shoppe og nemt at komme til både tog, busser og sporvogn. Helt klart et hotel vi vil anbefale og et vi gerne ville bo på igen hvis vi skulle tilbage til SF.

Rodeway Inn Berkeley ligger i Berkeley og er tæt på Berkeley Community Theater, University of California - Berkeley og Berkeley Art Museum. I nærheden er også Greek Theater og Berkeley Repertory Theater.

"Convenient to Berkeley and North Oakland"
For a single story motel this location was very good. Rooms were exceptionally well maintained and clean. The staff was helpful, internet included in the price was appreciated.

"Rodeay in Berkeley"
This hotel is near the BART stop and a short walk from the University. The breakfast was excellent and complimentary. The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff was congenial and helpful.

"good value for the price"
We had no idea what we were in for when we booked a room for 3 nights in Berkeley, but this was overall a fine location and comfortable accommodation. On arrival, we realized we didn't have anything but plastic cups in the room to drink (good!) wine out of so we ventured out for some wine glasses and viola...a dollar store right across the street. Also […] found our reading glasses were broken and a 2nd trip to the $ store was in order. The best part of the location though was a great restaurant in the same block called Divino's. It had some great salads, wonderful lasagna and pizza and on Monday night they offer ANY bottle of wine for $15. I believe on Wed. that kids under 10 eat free. It was a great find and we ate there 2 nights in a row! Also an Afghan restaurant was down the street and we enjoyed that as well. This is a no frills hotel. The rooms are clean, bedding if clean, outdoor area and lobby are well maintained and they have free parking. The location is great as it's right on University close to the college. The breakfast is well stocked and has lots of options. My only gripe is the hotel is noisy in that the walls are thin. "University of Cal.-Berkeley"
Stood at Rodeway for 4 days. It was close to the UC Berkeley. The breakfast in the morning was more than we expected. The room was comfortable and the staff was helpful and polite. There was a small ant problem but did not effect our stay. I will be making several trips to Berkeley and may stay at The Rodeway again...depending on the price!

This hotel is not in the finest part of Berkley, not near many restaurants or the University, but was ok location wise. The room, though small, was clean and a good value for the money. I would stay there again.
Pillows and sheets smells like they haven't changed since the last visitor. It smells like sweat. .

We stayed one night here. It was close enough to Berkeley University, only a 5 minute walk from the BART, and adequate pricing for the room. Great for a quick stay. Quaint.

Great classic "motor court" style hotel from the '30's. Clean, updated (small by modern standards), comfortable rooms. The courtyard is a little oasis from the dingy and worn surrounding neighborhood. A hidden gem.

This is a great location for Berkeley, and is very comfortable and safe. Great service. I will stay here every time I visit Berkeley.

"nice hotel but poor management"
on new year night, we were unable to access to our rooms due to technical problems:( although the receptionist was very helpful and kind, the manager of the hotel did not show up and did not answer the calls of the desk clerk and we waited for 2 hours in the lobby. "Hidden Gem in Berkeley!"
This place deserves more than a 2 star status. While the immediate area it's situated in isn't the nicest, it's super close to downtown Berkeley and San Francisco. Although this is a basic motel, it was very comfortable. Everything has been updated. There was a mini-fridge, microwave, and hairdryer. Continental breakfast was available in the "lobby". Bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

"Small yet comfortable in heart of Berkeley"
Very basic room, but very clean with a comfy bed and lots of pillows. Loved having a nice size mini-fridge and microwave in the room. Just wished there was a coffee pot too, although the lobby had plenty in there with a very simple continental breakfast. Great deal. I WILL be back!
"poor reception service AND early check-out time"
Had to wait 15 minutes for someone to show up in the front desk. They also called to my room at 11:30 at the day of check-out, asking if I'd like to 'extend my stay..' Apparently, check out time is 11:00..

This hotel was a diamond in th rough. We were in town for about a week and wanted to get away from San Francisco, so we decided Berkeley. I am so glad that I did. You could tell that the hotel staff and some of its family members were residents of the hotel. At first I was worried, but then I realized that if my family lived there I would do all that […] I can to make it a great place to live. "Easy and convient location"
Stayed here after reading previous reviews and it is a very nice little hotel. Very conveient and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Staff Is very nice and helpful. If you need a fews days somewhere stay here. Perfect for overnight business And 5 minutes to the freeway
"Love this place"
We have stayed at many hotels in Berkeley, including Hotel Shattuck. We will be staying at Rodeway Inn again and again and again....... Just all around wonderful and great price!

"Excellent option for a Bay Area trip"
We planned a small 5 day trip from L.A. to visit some relatives and friends in the East Bay, from Pinole to Hayward, some shopping in Berkeley record stores and the obligated visit to San Francisco, so the location was excelent: 5 minutes walk to the BART station (no need to park the car there) or 25 minutes drive to SF using the pool car lane. Short […] bus ride to Berkeley and no more than 20 minutes drive to each of the above mentioned points. Plus, it was a very nice attended and maintained motel. Only cons were: reduced bathroom space, one had to jump over the toilete to close the door); seating for breakfast at the lobby is limited (one chair/table was for both eating and internet use); and parking space seemed to be limited also, every night we got late to the motel and noticed that some cars had to be parked in places not designed for parking, I would assume that there should be at least one slot per room...but nothing to die about. We needed a place in the Bay area that was decent, a good rate and secure, free parking for our packed van. The hotel met all of these needs, and the courtyard parking kept the traffic of the busy street to a minimum.

Very convenient to most everything. Just a few blocks from two different BART locations. Easy freeway access. Clean comfortable neighborhood. The adjacent Thai restaurant was wonderful!

Small room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed, except coffee machine. For a business trip, with work to do in the evening, after the on-site was completed, a bit of hot coffee or tea without having to go out would have been perfect. Location was convenient and surprisingly quiet.

"Best Value in Town...no question...and I'm picky"
Booked this hotel after checking reviews. The staff is super-friendly, the rooms are clean and relatively maintained, the continental breakfast is superb, and you can't beat the price. The only tiny downside is that the bed is a bit squishy, but I still slept fine.
