Vi havde det skønneste ophold på dette hyggelige familieejede hotel. Personalet var yderst venlige og hjælpsomme. Alle ansatte talte godt engelsk. Hotellet ligger fantastisk oppe på siden af bjerget, og har en smuk udsigt over Salzburg. Omgivelserne er stille, rolige og fredelige. Værelset var hyggeligt og havde gode senge og stort badeværelse. Hotellet ligger i niveau over byen og udsigten til bjerge og by er derfor storslået.

Synd at ejer ikke får vedligeholdt huset, især udvendigt hvor træværk og murværk i den grad trænger til forskønnelse. Hotellet er ellers meget autentisk, ---så hvorfor ingen eller kun enkelte forsømte blomsterkasser på altanerene. Vi fik tildelt et værelse til gården uden "skøn udsigt". Nuvel vi havde heller ikke betalt for den. Men jeg hvade været […] villig til at give receptionisten ekstra for udsigten hvis han havde været mere imødekommende. Der var plads nok til den anden side. Men der bruger man ikke at opgradere og dermed få en god anbefaling. Indretning meget autentisk men af ældre dato. Det var helt OK, for der var rent og pænt indenfor. Læs mere

Hotel Schöne Aussicht ligger meget smukt med udsigt over hele Salzburg, men vejen derop er lidt besværlig, to biler kan ikke mødes på vejen, så hvis der er modkørende må den ene bakke til vigeplads. Dejlige rolige omgivelser, men man er nødt til at køre, hvis man skal ind til Salzburg, afstanden er for stor til at gå og busforbindelser findes ikke lige […] i nærheden. Dejlige altaner ved de fleste værelser og hyggelig restaurant med solterrasse. A la carte er i den lidt dyrere ende i forhold til andre restauranter i nærheden. Morgenmaden var særdeles god, men nogle dage kunne man ikke få almindelig kaffe, man kunne kun benytte expressomaskinen, begrundelsen var at der ikke var så mange gæster (det var i slutningen af april) så man ville ikke starte den store kaffemaskine. Der blev hele tiden fyldt op på morgenbuffeten og tjeneren kom og spurgte, om der var andet vi manglede. God og venlig betjening. Dejlig morgenbuffet. Sød lille swimmingpool. Pragfuld udsigt "a la SOUND OF MUSIC" om dagen og om aftenen er der en fantastisk udsigt ud over Salzburg med al dens lys.

The hotel was quite easy to find using our sat nav, although we arrived at night, it wasn't that easy to see the sign posts directing guests to the hotel. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the hotel reception / manager. The hotel bedroom had a large balcony with a fabulous view overlooking Salzburg and the Austrian Alps, probably the best views […] of Salzburg from this hotel. The room was comfortably furnished with a comfy bed and bright bathroom with a good shower. The breakfast was very nice with a good selection for all tastes and even a nespresso espresso maker. We also had two evening meals at the hotel which were delicious and of a very good quality. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has the use of a car to visit the many attractions Salzburg has to offer and visit the beautiful countryside surrounding the hotel. It is a very nice hotel with a spectacular view- the only negative is how far it is from the town area (but that comes with the view). Also, the restaurant is a bit over-priced so eat before you turn in for the night.

My husband and I read about the steep incline and booked the hotel for our Holiday get-a-away feeling prepared. As a young couple (In fairly good shape) we, too, struggled with the incline--no joking, people. That hill is a doozy. BUT, we had an AMAZING view of the Mountains! Although not in the centre and up an extreme hill, this hotel has views to die for. From our balcony, the view of the city and the Alps take your breath away. The value for moneyis great and the breakfast is fantastic. We got a taxi in to the centre due to the weather and this was fairly inexpensive. nice views... walls between rooms are thin... noisey

We would certainly recommend this family run hotel high on the hills overlooking the city of Saltzburg. It has a warm feel with very comfortable accommodation, friendly, helpful staff and excellent restaurant. We took the bus into Salzburg, enjoying the leafy walk down the hill from the hotel and the short bus ride in to the city. This hotel has very nice view over the city, the food in restaurant is nice. Delicious breakfast, and also free wifi, perfect for a relaxing stay. If you do not have a car, traveling to city center might be a problem. rent a room with balcony, do not miss the gorgeous view from the balcony.

We had some concerns having read the problems some other guests had with transport, but we had a car and had no problem at all. We chose to drive our car to the bus stop where we had free parking and then caught the bus into Salzburg. We experienced one night with mosquitos bothering us but closed windows for the next night. Beautiful traditional Austrian Hotel. High up in a mountain on the outskirts of Slazburg. You DO need a car though, because there is no public transport this highup. There is a stunning view of the whole of Salzburg from the bedrooms which are very clean and comfortable. The hotel is out of the city high up on a hillside surrounded by trees and fields - it has THE most perfect view of Salzburg, the surrounding mountains and landscape. The restaurant has outside seating overlooking the perfect view as the sun sets - very romantic. The menu is adventurous and the food is fabulous and cooked to perfection. The price reflects this but you don't mind paying more when it tastes so good. The hotel menu doesn't really cater for snacks though just meals. The hotel is full of dark wood and feels old and creaky with plenty of character but still well maintained and clean. The staff are helpful with lots of knowledge about the city and sights to see. Had a rental with gps so the hotel was not hard to find excellent food and views

I chose Hotel Schoene Aussicht becuase it is sitting half-way up a hill and overlooking the valleys. One cannot see Salzburg from the terrace but the view is nevertheless breadthtaking. Highly relaxing to have breakfast on the terrace and romantic in the evening. Having said that, the hotel hardware is only fair. I got a room on the second floor. There […] is a table with two chairs by the window and a sofa next to it, but because of tilted roof, it is almost impossible to sit at the table (not if it is by the window). And the sofa faces the closet, which is very odd. The plumbing in the shower didn't quite work, so I had to shower for a few seconds, wait for a few minutes until the water goes away, and repeat the process several times. The bed and the comforter are very clean, but the bed is strangly soft and "springy". The hotel claims to have a sauna but during that weekend, it was rented out as a guest room, so I couldn't use it. Breakfast is rich but again only okay quality (e.g., thin slices of toasts, canned fruits, etc.). I didn't take meal in the hotel. Owners (young couple) were not always attentive because of the baby. All in all, I'll say it's an okay choice, especially during the Music Festival when the hotels in town are all insanely expensive. An amazing location, great value for money. Breakfast was delightful.

This hotel truly has a beautiful view & is so very comfortable to stay at. It was so nice to be in a comfortable, homey environment. The food was very good, the service was great. Their wellness (sauna) room is a wonderful relaxing space, and is totally private.

The hotel is just perfect if you are traveling by car. It is placed just outside of Salzburg, on a hill. It has a restaurant of really god quality, and the breakfast was also of highest quality. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed staying there for one night.

3 star hotel. 4 star friendliness. 5 star view. Long walk or (better yet) 10 euro taxi to downtown - so if that's a problem, don't bother. But if you have wheels or don't mind the taxi, the view and service are great!

This is an outstanding Hotel experience.Just a couple of Kilometers away from the centre of town,this is perched on a lovely hill .Good breakfast spread,outstanding owner-hosts,old worldly charm --all at the stones throw from the most romsntic city of the world.What more do you need?

Myself and a friend booked a city break based on the views of this hotel, they were magnificent. The Hotel is very traditional Austrian. For breakfast there was a vast array of fruit, cold meats, cheese, cereal, boiled eggs, bread, yogurts, coffee, tea, as much as you could eat. If you got a room with a view , it is Beautiful

I would absolutely recommend the Hotel Schoene Aussicht to anyone travelling to Salzburg! The hotel is completely charming- it is perched atop a hill overlooking the city of Salzburg and the Alps. The views are truly the most beautiful I have ever seen. We stayed in Room #1 on the second floor, which has a great wraparound balcony, offering up extensive […] views of both the city and surrounding mountains. Definitely request a room with a balcony- it is worth the small extra cost. The hotel is extremely affordable. The hotel staff is very friendly, as I believe it is a family-run operation. There is an adorable bar and restaurant, with a terrace off the restaurant with stunning views. At night you can see the city lights of Salzburg twinkling in the distance. There was a vast breakfast spread (included in the room cost) in the morning for all guests. The only thing that could possibly be considered as "negative" is that the hotel is a bit outside the city- just a short 10 min taxi ride. But the front desk will call you a taxi and it will be there in 5 mins. Super easy. The views and amazing mountain air are definitely worth the cab ride in my opinion though! My husband and I stayed at this hotel when we got married in Salzburg. I highly recommend the room with the balcony view, it is absolutely gorgeous. The room is nothing fancy, but its very spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and maintained. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful to answer many questions. The only negatives would be the lack of air conditioning and the inconvenience of the location. In the summer, it can get warm and humid in Austria (we were there in July)... and the hotel staff don't have many fans available to give out. Regarding the location, while it is great for the views, it makes getting into Salzburg difficult beacause the hotel is on top of a small mountain. If you don't have a car, you will spend some time walking up and down the mountain to get to and from this hotel. If you have a car, its not a problem, though parking in Salzburg is another story. Nice place, friendly staff but if you're looking to get into the center of town during your stay then it's out of the way. Walking up or down the hill from the hotel to the bus stop is really not an option especially at night. Long dark narrow road with no lights. Hotel had a very nice view of Salzburg area. If you don't have a rental car it is a long walk down the steep hill to the train station and a taxi will be around 10 euros from anywhere in Salzburg. Don't recommend walking up the hill. The hotel restaurant is very good but is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rooms don't have fridge or laundry service. […] Staff was very helpful and friendly. Best View of salzburg you will get from any room, not extremely expensive, 7/10

We had a horrible experience from this hotel. The hotel was located at the top of mountain, and the only entering path was extremely narrow which only one car could barely go through. We could not breathe until we reached the hotel. The hotel was very old, the carpet was all worn out and stained, the stairs were squeaking, and the room was very cold […] without a thermostat….. When we tried to check out, the hotel manager charged us an extra 33 Euros although we prepaid fully for the room and did not let us go until we paid the extra amount of money. We loved the location of this hotel and chose to stay a bit out of the city center. The view of Salzburg from the hotel (and particularly, the balcony rooms) was breathtaking. The food was excellent! It is important to note that the hotel is at the very top of a long steep drive. I had read that in reviews and knew that walking it would be difficult […] but it wouldn't be difficult but rather IMPOSSIBLE! This is no exaggeration. It's almost a mile straight up hill. You will either need a car or will need taxis to and from the hotel to anywhere! Be sure to ask the taxi driver if they will go up the hill as some won't in winter because of the danger. But the views, the food, the quaintness, and the hospitality were WORTH EVERY euro we spent on the taxi rides! Rooms are a tad run down but their charm remains... Læs mere

Could not fault the hotel. Magical location, very friendly service and excellent food made our stay there perfect. Will return.

Although it is situated on a hill top with a good view of Salzburg, the hotel service and the uncomfortable room would not warrant a 'stay' recommendation at this hotel. It was a very muggy night with "no" air conditioning or a table fan in the room. We tried to keep the window open and in 5 min. there were 20 insects (bugs, flies) in the room (as this […] is a wooded area). I asked the hotel owner for a table fan but he was rude and he said he could not help us (he was not even available, we had to talk to him by intercom) as even the phone did not work. The room was too small for the cost incurred. Not very friendly people and did not wish us well on departure. Computer access cost is too high and should be free.

This little hotel was excellent. Our view of Salzburg and the valley was amazing. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was excellent though a little more expensive. I would recommend this hotel to other Salzburg travelers and would stay again if traveling to the Salzburg area.

Not easy to get to and a bit remote on a hill, and a car is necessary. The hotel is clean and the view to the forest in the back was great (I imagine the view facing the city must be good too). The onsite dinner is quite expensive as well as very slow, with a sitting fee per person even for an inside table and no view at a rainy night.

Hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt,die lage ist super und im Sommer muß es fantastisch sein,da die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Nur jetzt im Winter nicht so gut;da braucht man einen Allradwagen ,sehr steil die Straßen und rutschig.
