We booked and paid for a Retreat Room, which was fabulous, but were slightly annoyed that others booking into a standard room got 'free' upgrades. We did have a few issues and felt they weren't dealt with appropriately. Our points had to be raised several times before they were resolved. Although, the hotel was great and would definitely go back!

hotel lobby is nice and the hotel has been refurbished recently but unfortunately not the rooms, they just did get a paintjob

Fabulous hotel with the comfiest beds ever! At 7 months pregnant I don't get much sleep these days, but this was defo the best sleep I've had in a long time! We had a garden-facing room and it was unbelievably quiet. Not a sound! Breakfast was fantastic- what a choice! Will definitely be staying here again and also recommending to others.

We have visited this hotel many times over the last 20 years, and we were not dissappointed! The welcome back was sincere, efforts made to satisfy our room requierments were successful, service was outstanding, and food superb. We look forward to returning, again!

I could talk about this hotel all day long, but I will not. In short I spent three days at this hotel for my birthday and it was fantastic. The room was great, the bathroom and shower was amazing. The small touches of a plate with a cake and biscuit and welcome typed in chocolate sauce was nice. I have never met staff at a hotel that can't do enough […] for you and also do it with a smile. A bit out of town centre but in a picturesque location. The main areas - bar, dining room, reception were all lovely giving a good first impression. We had a lovely big room (105) but it was a bit tired ( the window frame were black and dirty with mould, the light shade torn, one of the lights not working, the bathroom tiles dirty/marked around the […] toilet) which seems a shame as it wouldn't take much to keep on top of these minor issues. The real highlights were the leisure amenities, the breakfast and the customer service of the staff. I would recommend this hotel to any age group and Inverness is a lovely place to visit. Læs mere

My husband & I stayed in the hotel for a weekend. I was very impressed with the standard of cleanliness. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast let it down slightly. We decided to have a late breakfast and by the time we got there, there was no chef, even although breakfast still had a hour to run. No fried eggs available and food on server begining to […] dry out. Had to ask for butter as none on table but this was brought quickly. On the 22nd morning we were down sharper and food was fresher but had to ask for napkins at the table. All said and done though, a very high quality stay. Læs mere

The hotel was in a great location and staff were very friendly. The bed was the probably the biggest and most comfortable I have ever stayed in and we really enjoyed our stay there. The pool was clean and was a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. Looking forward to staying there again!

I felt that I was expected at check-in and was treated like the only guest that mattered at breakfast. The staff were excellent and service prompt. The food was better than expected with good sized portions. Impressed and surprised.

Very good standard 4 star hotel in a good location. Staff polite, attentive and diligent. Meal times were served within longer periods which gave a good choice for guests' preferred eating.

My husband and I used to stay in this hotel regularly. When it became part of the Marriott Group it became too expensive for our budget. It's now privately owned and still not cheap but look out for good deals and for a 4 star hotel it becomes good value. Some of the original staff are still there and remembered my husband. They were decorating the […] entrance hall while we were there and it will look great when completed. Our bedroom was spacious and well appointed. The bathroom has a bath as well as decent sized shower cubicle. Don't you just hate those bathrooms where you have to squeeze past to close the door. Breakfast was fine although we didn't eat dinner in the hotel so can't comment on that. The only thing that is looking tired and outdated is the leisure complex. I always enjoy staying at the Kingsmills, lovely classic decor and WONDERFULlocal spoken gentleman with impeccable manners who greets you in foyer. Unfortunately my last stay was ruined by the ignorance of the supervisor and manager at breakfast. It was a quiet Sunday morning and the buffet was not on . A surly ' supervisor' with a white blouse and […] pony tail walked away after reprimanding me for tampering with the toaster, she refused to answer a request for less ' charcoaled' toast. The middle aged woman in a black suit also scowled at us all. It was much more little chef standard than 4 star hotel. I did report this to the duty manager who was extremely courteous and apologetic. With so many people unemployed wher does the Kingsmills get such dreadful staff from? Performance appraisals as matter of urgency please dining staff. or a P45, be warned guests, skip breakfast unless you want a Fawlty Towers experience, Please put front of house staff into the dining room, they are absolutely delightful ! Initially given twin room on arrival despite booking King. informed that only one free would be above a conservatory where there was a party Night in full swing; with possible noise until 1 am. I was then informed that I should have specified a quiet room. once I explained that this was unacceptable we were upgraded to the luxury annex beside the hotel. […] Huge room, lovely breakfast in the morning. Despite the initial hiccup, we had a great time in Inverness. For a great night out go th Hootenanny's for a Thai meal with Scottish folk music. great mix! Læs mere

Booked this for Boxing day,probably not the best time with staff exhausted from the previous festivities. Evening meal in the conservatory was disappointing;my wife was ill through the night afterwards suspecting very greasy batter on main course. Breakfast next morning was very good. Our 5th stay at the Kingsmill's Hotel and just as special as the first time, great facilities, excelent food and fantastic staff. Even though we stayed during the pre Christmas party seasion we never felt like we were being overlooked by the the staff, who were as helpful as ever. We even got a party invite....how cool is that!

We got a good deal for 2 night Weekend break for Christmas shopping. Lovely hotel, friendly helpfull staff. Large spacous room. unfortunately we looked out over flat roof to low wall and room was very cold. Had only one small radiator at bay window not enough for size of room with high roof, I suppose you get what you pay for... Upgraded to the kingsclub, amazing hotel. room very spacious and big rooms, bathroom very clean walk in shower. super kingsize bed provided, comfort 5 out of 5. this is our second stay in a couple months. will definately be returning back soon.

Lovely hotel. We stayed 3 nights and had dinner in hotel 1st night, food lovely but a bit pricey. Room was bigger than other hotel rooms with the comfiest bed we have ever slept in. Bathroom big and spotlessly clean. Swimming pool lovely and warm. only a 15 minute walk from centre of inverness or 3 minutes in a taxi. Lovely hotel! We stayed only one night-wedding night and we got amazing room. As we got upgraded, not sure if that has been act of the hotel or supprise from our family. We wish to stay longer next time.

Room was dirty; moldy curtains, smelled ofnsmoke and must, carpet worn and spotty, paint and walls tired, dirty ironing board etc. View was of wires hanging off of a wall outside. Lots of noise from hallway and building made it hard to sleep. Lobby and dining rooms were nice. Front desk service was lousy as though we were an inconvenience to them. We arrived in Inverness with no accommodation arranged and found an open room in Kingsmill, which turned out to be a godsend. We had a family emergency to deal with in the U.S. and were able to use the wireless internet in the room to talk with family members. The comfortable room helped make a rough situation better. Hotel nice, maybe a 3 star rather than 4. Our room was very dark with hardly any natural daylight. There was a teabag left lying on the floor but apart from that the overall cleanliness was good. The staff were very helpful and polite and I would say that and the food is what gives it the 4 star. The treatments we had in the Kingsclub and Spa were lovely […] and the Kingsclub was beautiful, if we were to return we would ask to stay there rather than in the main hotel. Overall rating 7/10. Disappointed that I'd booked 2 twin rooms and checked the status of the rooms on arrival to find that one of the rooms wasn't a twin but a family room with king size bed in the main room and bunkbeds in a side room. Could have saved the money on the 2nd room for our party to stay in one room.

Very impressed. Even though the internet booking had not been processed (not their fault) they still placed us in an excellent room. The hotel has great facilities and friendly staff.

rooms are spacy and comfort. but bath room lacks theluxury touch with cheap lookong boards and floor. breakfast is expensive £15 and not open buffet. wireless is not free. you pay £5/hour

This is a lovely Hotel with great staff. I had a room in the new block of the hotel which was fabulous-very spacious, comfortable and totally spotless. I would definitely recommend this hotel which also has a nice leisure centre and is only ten minutes walk from the town centre.

Well worth a visit for the money.

Doing a short tour of the north liked the pictures on the web booked it, had a great time, could not fault it.in any way. Over the years have stayed at some of the best international hotels world wide. Kingsmill ranks with these will stay there anytime we are close to the area.

We had an overnight visit with our border collie - staff helpful arranged garden room. Ground floor easy access outside and not disturbing other guests. Best to let them know in advance if bringing a pet but it was no problem. Staff at mealtime were prompt and kindly in their service. Very convenient location and good rooms.
