Vi boede to nætter på Avenue Suites, og var mere end tilfredse. Kæmpe lejlighed i fuldstændig nyistandsat bygning, meget venligt og hjælpsomt receptionspersonale, og sågår en udemærket (inkluderet) morgenmadsbuffet, som vi ikke var blevet lovet på forhånd. Topkarakterer!! :-)

Hottellet ligger rigtigt centralt i forhold til de store seværdigheder i det centrale Washington DC. Det er slidt og af ældre dato, men det er funktionelt og vi havde ikke noget at udsætte på servicen. Desværre er hotellet stort og billigt, hvilket lejrskoler og lignende også benytter sig af. Det var ret irriterende, at den pris hotels.com oplyste blev belagt med en skat på 10 procent pr. overnatning da vi tjekkede ud og skulle betale regningen! Vi forventede at den oplyste pris var den fulde pris!

Fint suite-værelse med separat soverum. Der var lidt mørkt og kun to stole ved spisepladsen, men ellers fine faciliteter. Vi havde booket to nætter til at "komme" os efter en lang flyvetur med to børn, og det var hotellet rigtig fint til.

Hotellet ligger lidt uden for centrum men i gå afstand. De var flinke og opgraderede os til et værelse med to senge uden ekstra gebyr. Der er gratis wifi. Morgenmaden var vafler, brød og sødt. Værelset og hotellet var fint og alt fungerede. Så alt i alt kan jeg sagtens anbefale det.
Placering.
Courtyard by Marriott Capitol Hill Navy Yard ligger i Washington (Capitol Hill) og er tæt på Nationals Park, Kongressens forsamlingsbygning i USA og Jefferson-mindesmærket. I nærheden er også Washington-mindesmærket og Ford's Theater.
Hotelfaciliteter.
Courtyard by Marriott Capitol Hill Navy Yard har en indendørs pool og et fitnesscenter eller -rum. Trådløs internetadgang er gratis i fællesarealerne. Forretningsfaciliteter på dette 3-stjernede hotel inkluderer et forretningscenter, et møde-/konferencelokale og audiovisuelt udstyr. Mange af kongressens medlemmer bor i murstensrækkehusene i nærheden af Capitol-bygningen. På den anden side af gaden fortolker Højesteret – den tredje statsmagt – loven. Den nærliggende restaurerede Union Station er transitterminal og et populært spisested.

"We stayed here to be close to the nationals park"
First of all the hotel is in a DUMPY part of town and is under construction. There is no valet yet you pay $25 to self park. Room was very small and crammed and there is NO place around within walking distance to eat. You have to either take subway which is right near hotel or bus to everything. It is not worth being within walking distance of the park […] when everything else is so far away. We ate at bar downstairs and there was one woman bartending and waiting tables so it was very slow and chaotic. We found on Hotels.com that the same night stay was $60 cheaper per night than what we paid but when we called they said there was nothing they could do about it. The price we paid when we booked was the price of the room and the room was definitely not worth the price we paid. If it were $100 per night that is what the hotel is worth. So stay somewhere else when visiting the park. Læs mere

"Marriott Capital Hill Navy Yard, Washington, DC"
This hotel is conveniently located near one of DC's Metro stops, making it easy to get anywhere in the city. There is also a "DC Circulator" bus that will take you to Union Station for a dollar - better than a taxi ride if you are coming in by train. The front desk folk could not have been nicer. It was a terrific stay.
Staff was very nice, helpful.

"Great Location"
Hotels is at a great location. 5 - 10 minute walk or bike ride to capital and mall. Bike rental racks a block away. Clean modern rooms. Solid service. Enjoyable stay.

"At Navy Yard metro stop"
Hotel is within a block of the Metro and pleasant walking distance to the Capitol and Library of Congress. Neighborhood lacks shopping of any sort but feels safe. Parking charge over $29/day and is outrageous. this was the only true negative. No complementary breakfast. breakfast buffet over $12.
"What's Up With Lounge?"
Loved the hotel except...the lounge closes so early. I just couldn't understand it. The drinks are good, the food is good, Michael the bartender was exceptional. But you better get down there before the street lights come on or you won't be getting any service. Of course that's an exaggeration but it does close rather early. We stayed at this hotel for a "weekend rate" for Friday and Saturday nite. Great location to metro. Rates on Sunday-Thursday would double+, and value proposition drops in regards to overall location, etc. (for that $$price)

The Check In person was not courteous at all and there were a number of things not mentioned that I just knew since I had stayed there previously. We had a corner room that was colder and could not get the temperature to increase so the room was cold the entire time we were there. "Marriott Courtyard Navy Yard - Washington, DC"
Room was very comfortable; staff extremely friendly and helpful. Buffett breakfast was excellent and a great value. Again, the service and staff attitudes were execellent, Will stay there again and recommend to others.
"Courtyard Marriott Capitol Hill Navy Yard"
The location was excellant - it was accross the block from the Metro station that is on the same line to the airport. I did not spend any time in the surrounding area so I am not aware of what that was like. The parking spaces and the garage areas are VERY close. The breakfast buffet and hotel staff were wonderful and we will stay there again.
"Convenient"
Not too many hotels in the District to choose from--this one was your typical Courtyard. Seems like the locals enjoy the happy hour there. We stayed 3 nights for a long weekend in DC visiting family and doing tourist things. Cabbed it mostly--was happy their was always one sitting in front waiting! And this was a holiday weekend. Our only complaint […] was the WiFi had a strong signal but an iffy connection. Ended up on cell phones turning off wifi and going 3G for web access. "Next to metro, what else do you need?"
At first I was a little worried since the cab driver had said we wanted to stay on the "west" side of town and the hotel was on the east side, but I did not find the area scary at all. My boyfriend and I would arrive back as late as midnight and still feel perfectly safe walking from the metro station to the hotel (a whole block away.) The hotel is […] not right next to the main sites in DC, but as stated before is right next to a metro station and is kept clean and comfortable. The gym there is also 24 hours which I thought was a plus. we enjoyed our stay there, and for the price would definitely book again. P.S. There is a starbucks next to the metro as well! Læs mere

"GREAT FOR NATIONALS GAMES"
If you are in town to see the Nationals play your favorite baseball team, you will be hard pressed to find a better hotel that is located so close the the ballpark.

Great location. Near National Park if you're going to see a game. Half a block to Metro so easy to get around the city. Very nice room and great service. Starbucks across the street for coffee!

This hotel is within walking distance of the Washington Nationals baseball stadium and has a metro station across the street. The staff was very polite and helpful making our stay with them enjoyable. There is a parking garage available for an additional fee. "Metro convenient"
The Metro is right on the corner, so no car is needed to get around. Took the Metro right from the DCA airport. Only a couple places to eat in the area, but you can plan around that. LOTS of construction around the hotel, but we didn't find it to be loud. Pool area wet everywhere and the chlorine smell was so strong it made it hard to stay.
"Bring your own pillows."
The pillows they have on the beds would barely qualify as mouse pads in the real world. Additionally, the internet (like most hotels with free wi-fi) is very very slow, so if you need it for business, bring a mifi.

"Courtyard by Marriott - Navy Yard"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though I had to do some hunting to find a parking space. The hotel just happens to be adjacent to our daughter's condo; very convenient.
"Courtyard Marriot. Capitol Hill/Navy Yard"
Just finished a family trip to DC and discovered our new favorite DC hotel. Close to Capitol Building (10 min walk) and in a great area. The staff were wonderful and the hotel amenities outstanding. When we come back to DC we'll be stating here.
"Smoking!!!"
We have stayed at this hotel many times and this is the first time there was a problem. Evidently a group of people were staying near our room on the 7th floor. All night long (from 11:45 pm until 4:45 am) the room doors opening and slamming shut and there were loud voices in the hallway. AND THE GUESTS WERE SMOKING somewhere nearby -- it came into […] our room under the door. My husband finally rolled up a towel and placed it on the floor where the space is between the floor and the bottom of the door. That helped some. I called the front desk twice, it didn't seem possible for them to do anything about the situation. Læs mere

"See D.C."
Trip to D.C. was to see family. Hotel in close proximity to them. Hotel staff accommodating and helpful. Close to Metro and will stay there again when the "cherry blossoms are out".

Located 1 block from the Metro station, clean and safe area, a few food vendors nearby, pharmacy and bank nearby; clean hotel, front desk people were very helpful in recommending tours, etc.

The room was clean, nicely decorated, quiet. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Underground parking very convenient. Metro station on next corner. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Navy Yard Visit"
I traveled on business to Washington DC and was very pleased with the Courtyard Marriott. The Hotel was located in a location that was VERY convenient to my meeting location, although it wasn't really located conveniently to dining or shopping. Of course, I wasn't there for shopping, but the dining adventure took a bit by surprise. The Metro station […] (Navy Yard) is less than a block away, providing the opportunity to conveniently travel within the DC and surrounding VA and MD vicinity. A few minor bumps at checkin, but overall our stay was great! The staff was very friendly and more than willing to help us figure out the transit system and where places were. Since I'm expecting, I was worried about the hotel bed's comfort and shouldn't have been. I slept great. Thanks for helping to make this such a great trip.
"Better than expected"
We knew that this Courtyard was in an area with limited restaurants, but it was very close to a Metro station (1 block) from which we could go anywhere. Within an easy block walk is a Subway sandwich shop, a CVS drug store, and a good burger chain. The hotel serves a good breakfast at a reasonable price. the neighborhood is clean and appears to be the […] result of urban renewal efforts. The closest grocery store is a brand new huge Safeway at the next Metro stop (Waterfront?). Bed was comfortable, wireless internet was a bit weak, but okay. 3 computers in lobby did not work well while we were there - the intention is to be able to access internet and print out boarding passes - a great idea if it worked! Large flat screen TV was nice, but some channels didn't come in. It faced a sitting area with couch and coffee table. Housekeeping staff unfailingly gave us a friendly greeting whenever we saw them. So, while it's a bit out of the busy parts of the city, it is a very nice hotel and currently a bargain. Læs mere
