CenterHotel Skjaldbreid - Reykjavik

Fint nok - bortset fra at sofaen i værelset var meget slidt og hullet. Triste gulvtæpper.

Jeg skulle kun bruge en overnatning - og midt i byen på hovedgaden var perfekt for mig, derfor valgte jeg dette hotel, og det har jeg ikke fortrudt. Prisen var OK for blot denne ene overnatning, morgenmaden tilfredsstillende, Islandsk standard på et "billigt" hotel.

Jeg fik ikke internettet på værelset til at virke.

Snusket og småkrøllet og med kraftig susen og brummene syngende aircondition der fylder hele hotellet. Det er vel det første der falder mig ind når jeg tænker på vores ophold på hotel Skjaildbreid. Det var svært at sove for larmen der kørte uafbrudt døgnet rundt. Venlig betjening der gav os lov til at prøve om det larmede mindre på andre værelser. Det […] er derfor vi ved at larmen er extrem på hele hotellet. Beliggenheden er dog virkelig god og helt central. Derfor valgte vi at blive. Læs mere

Dejlig centralt beliggende lige på hovedgaden Pænt og rent Lækker morgenmad God service

Godt, fin service, rigtig god beliggenhed på Reykjaviks gågade.

Hotellet ligger supergodt placeret lige i hjertet af Reykjavik, tæt på alt. Service var venlig, sengekomforten god. Men: - Hotellet lovede gratis internet, som ikke virkede under hele opholdet. Computeren i receptioner, som gæster kunne benytte, virkede heller ikke. - Morgenmadsbuffeten var OK, men bestemt ikke standard for et 4-stjernet hotel. Jeg […] har oplevet bedre standard på vandrerhjem, - Værelset var meget lille - det var faktisk svært at få plads til to kufferter, da der var dårlig plads, fordi dobbeltsengen fyldte det meste af gulvet. Et rart og venligt hotel med en god atmosfære

Hotellet ligger lige midt på Reykjaviks hovedgade med gåafstand til stort set alt. Venlig og imødekommende personale. Små værelser og standard morgenmad. Alt ialt et godt udgangspunkt for gode oplevelser på Island.

All the staff at this hotel were great and extremely helpful. the room was a quiet one in the back so we did not hear any of the Friday night ruckus that other guests have mentioned. It seemed pretty reasonable for what we paid and was vey comfortable.

A good hotel in general, especially for a shorter stay, depending on your demands. The standard rooms are rather small - even though well kept and with good standard. I can not really understand the four star rating, though? This is a three star at best. Staff is friendly and helpful, we booked an excursion via the hotel and they helped sort everything […] out when the excursion company screwed up the reservation. Our night receptionist was kind enough to arrange some croissants and juice for us when checking out early before breakfast. We had a room right next to the lobby and stairs, and it was pretty noisy - we easily overheard every conversation that took place in the reception area, as well as in the stairs. We weren't too bothered, but if you're a light sleeper and easily disturbed- avoid room 201. Other than that, the room was quite good - the bathroom was very clean and seemed recently renovated, thick and fresh towels in abundance and a shower that seemed brand new. Don't plan on watching TV while in Reykjavik - we normally watch for a while before going to sleep, but here there was absolutely nothing on but static and CNN. Not the hotels fault, of course. Breakfast buffet was rather pityful. Very basic with white bread, cold cuts and cheese, some marmalades and eggs that had boiled so long that they were green. However, it was enough and we weren't expecting a full spread. We booked at a cheap rate, and got our moneys worth - the location is great, right in the middle of everything and we got everything we expected and paid for. We hadn't planned to spend much time in the room anyway, besides sleeping. However, if you expect luxury and are in Reykjavik to have a romantic weekend away - this is not the place. Læs mere

Hotel is centrally located in Reykjavik making it easy to get to restaurants, bars, shopping, tour companies. This hotel is attached to a very good restaurant/bar called vegamot which on the Thursday night I was there played an awesome selection of R&B and Hip hop music. Drinks we cheap and good too.

We enjoyed our stay - the breakfast is great and all the staff we dealt with were very helpful. The only negative was that it is right next to a VERY noisy club that on Fri and Sat nights is open until 5am.

GOOD HOTEL, CENTRAL LOCATION, ONLY MINUS POINT BUFFET BREAKFAST NOT VERY GOOD, VERY LITTLE CHOICE.

Great location. Decent standard rooms. Good morning buffet. Close to a night club that makes it loud on Fri and Sat night, so if your room is close to that corner of the hotel, then it could be hard to sleep. Very convenient for all sights and tourist information. All tours picked up at hotel, Staff friendly, breakfast very good. Only problem was a huge television on a table, taking up valuable surface area that didn't work. Reported it several times. We only wanted a news program to keep in touch with world events. Overall nice place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Jacob (Joseph?) answered all of our questions. Breakfast was decent in a beautiful sun room overlooking the surrounding roof tops. Location was great with a cool book store right across the street. We stayed on Sunday and Monday nights and had no issue with street noise. Hotel very close to city centre. Right next door to which could be very noisy. So not so good if you go to b ed early. Rooms small but adequate. TV in room could not be made to work and no hotel staff seemed to know how to remedy this. We stayed at this hotel for a week in December. The staff is extremely accomodating, the rooms are small by comfortable and clean and well maintained. The TV is small and has only a few channels but we didn't come to Iceland to watch TV. Free Wi-Fi is a nice perk. The breakfast was fantastic! The one thing we'd caution about is the location of the […] hotel which can be considered a mixed blessing. It is right in the middle of Laugaveg Street which is chock full of bars and restaurants and withing a walking distance of several landmarks. However the bar-crawling scene does get pretty loud, especially in the weeks preceding a major holiday (such as Christmas in our case). So if you're not a sound sleeper and don't intend to join in the fun it may be hard to get to sleep before 2-3am. We still loved it. Læs mere

Staff is very helpful, breakfast is european style (granola, yogurt, meat, cheese, breads) and kept refilled. My only dissapointment was that the sheets weren't actually changed when we requested service for the room - they kept the same sheets and just re-made the bed. Be aware the staying in the center of Reykjavik is loud, weekends/nights the club […] around the corner blasts its music (as they all seem to in the city, just be prepared for it!). The hotel is located in a perfect spot for walking around Reykavik City center. There are plenty of Bars and restaurants in this area. The staff are very helpful. we had an early flight home and they arranged breakfast for us before we left.

Nice little boutique hotel. good shuttle from airport @ extra cost. Hard to find. Dont miss the doorway with small sign! A little noisy on party nights. Ask for a third or fourth floor room. Nice morning buffet included. Another review mentions absence of sheets. World travellers: Its called a duvet!

Great hotel with fantastic staff and service. Located in the very heart of Reykjavik with the main shopping street just on your doorstep and some of the best restaurants in town in walking distance from the hotel. The best hotel I've stayed in and I will be back!

A new experience for us so we did not know what to expect. It is an older hotel and the rooms are small but comfortable-similar to other european hotels. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was very adequate. Located right in the heart of it all, this hotel was comfortable and reasonably priced...especially for peak season. Rates included breakfast and they even helped organize a tour to the blue lagoon. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Hotel was exactly as I expected after reading other reviews. My room was nice but small, only complaint would be the pillows, very lumpy. My room faced the main street, was a little noisy Saturday night but I don't have a problem sleeping thru that and I use ear plugs. Though a bit small by American standards, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff members were all friendly and helpful. Location is perfect - right on Laugevegur, near several restaurants and clubs and right across the street from a great bookstore and Arctic Adventures guiding service. This hotel is on the main strip and next to a ton of bars and stores. If you are looking to have some late nights and be in the mix then this is the spot for you. If you are going to bed early and have a family with you, I would not stay here.

We arrived to find out that the hotel was overbooked, and we were moved to another hotel. Without internet in the rooms. Congratulations. The hotel has entrance on 2nd floor, so if you travel with suitcases it is a bit of a struggle checking in.

fantastic small hotel, in the centre of reykjavik,..romms are clean tidy, staff are helpful and friendly and breakfast really nice, all in all well worth a visit
