Vi boede i en lejlighed et lille stykke væk fra hotellet, men sikken en lejlighed. Den var stor og meget velindrettet, - der var alt det man skal bruge og mere til. Placeringen af lejligheden var ekstremt central, - dog var det lidt pudsigt at udsigten var til et fængsel, hvor fangerne spillede bold i gården. En skøn oplevelse der virkelig kan anb […] efales. Dejligt hotel med en central og dog stille beliggenhed. Nød den direkte udsigt til Hallgrimskyrkan. Dejlig restaurant med god mad. Naturlig venlig betjening.

Vi boede to personer på Hotel Odinsve i december måned, og vi var virkelig glade for vores valg. Hotellet var fint og rent, og værelserne var også pæne. Til vores værelse på 3. sal var der en balkon, hvorfra man kunne se ud over Reykjavik og nyde udsigten. Personalet var fantastisk imødekommende og morgenmaden også rigtig god (den var dog ikke inklusiv […] i prisen). Beliggenheden var også helt ideel ift. at gå ned i byen og shoppe, besøge restauranter om aftenen eller gå en tur ned til vandet. Alt i alt var vi rigtigt godt tilfredse med dette hotel og vil meget gerne anbefale det til andre. Læs mere

Great hotel, excellent staff very clean and very well maintained, from the moment we checked in to checkout we were looked after by very friendly staff. Our rooms were very well appointed, with baths and great views across the city, there is a restaurant on ground floor called Snaps with truly exquisite food and service. This hotel is so central that […] it is a few minutes walk to great tax free shopping (claim your VAT at the airport), great no world class restaurants close by with both local and global food (try the local) I have no problem recommending Hotel Odinsve we could not of chosen better thank you to staff and management. We were very pleased that the hotel was in such a convenient location - in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, 5 mins walk to shopping street and restaurants (and 24hr convenience store), and yet tucked behind a quiet residential street so as to avoid late night noise. The hotel itself was quite comfortable, our standard twin room was clean and bright […] with great fluffy pillows and thick quilts on the beds (which were a bit too soft for my liking unfortunately) just be warned that the standard room sizes and bathrooms are quite small/compact so if you're not in one of the deluxe rooms or suites there's not much space to manoeuvre or put large suitcases. The hotel staff were wonderful, very willing to help or answer any questions or make recommendations for nearby dining, and assist in making tour bookings and flybus bookings. Unfortunately our Northern Lights tour was cancelled due to cloud cover, and the reception took the trouble to call our room to let us know what was happening. We found the room rates to be quite reasonable as well, especially with a special deal running at the time. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for accom in Reykjavik, though perhaps suggest booking one of the larger rooms/suites if your budget allows! Læs mere

A lovely, relatively small hotel located well in the central region of the city. The staff were incredibly helpful, aiding in planning excursions, car rental and anything you ask. A nice new restaurant serves a limited, but delicious selection of food. Only downside was although upgraded room, still two twins pushed together. Stayed at Hotel Odinsve in March 2012. Can't fault it. Lovely spotlessly clean rooms and excellent helpful staff. Hotel's location is great - about a minutes walk from main shopping area/restaurants yet very quiet. Felt very safe walking back to hotel late at night.

Great location, helpful staff. Everything we wanted and expected. Would recommend.

They had a good and flexible reception service and dealt with all of our requests quickly. There is a loft upstairs inside a room, so we could try to watch northern lights at midnight in the room. A bad point is bathroom was quite small and no bathtub.

The hotel has nice location and friendly staff. But I don't get why the hotel has so high rating in here. The standard is typical 2-3 stars, not 4. First of all the beds are like sleeping on the floor. They are very hard and my neck hurts even two days after leaving. The room itself was OK, but nothing more. The breakfast was served in the basement […] because they where upgrading the restaurant. It basically consists of toast, cheese, ham and some cereal. Not worth 10€. I'd rather go to one of the many nearby cafes. That said, the overall experience was OK. So I might recommend the hotel to others based on its price, just be aware that its no 4-star hotel. Læs mere

and in walking distance to all city centre

I just spent more than a week in Reykjavik and chose the Hotel Odinsve initially because of its great value and location. I booked a room for part of my stay and figured I'd leave myself the option to go somewhere else if need be. I didn't have to worry, as the hotel was great, the staff was immensely helpful with all of my questions and with suggestions, […] and the location was perfect. I'd highly recommend to someone traveling to Reykjavik for business or pleasure, as you're close to all of the major attractions/neighborhoods, and you can find myriad restaurants, bars and cafes with a one minute walk. Stayed two night here, and everything was great! Staff were sweet, helpful, rooms clean and cute. Very happy I chose Odinsve.

We stayed in one of Hotel Odinsve's apartments for 3 nights. During that time the apartment was not serviced, the towels were not changed nor were the bins emptied even though we mentioned it to Reception twice. We arrived in the dark and asked if they could recommend a restaurant and they told us about one but said that we would not now get in and […] should have made a reservation. Their restaurant was closed and they knew of no other restaurants, nor did they know where the nearest ATM was or where the nearest bank was. They told us to walk around and find one. We loved Reykjavik and found the people friendly and helpful, apart from the staff at the Odinsve. I would not recommend this hotel. Læs mere

Nice hotel just slightly (1 block) off the main street but within walking distance to everything downtown but away from the hustle. Great location and parking wasn't an issue with on street and small lot across the street.

My friend and I chose the Hotel Odinsve for our stay in Reykjavik, Iceland. Our flight arrived at 6:30 am, and we were to the by 8:00. While our room was being prepared for us, we enjoyed a breakfast buffet in the hotel's dining room. The buffet offered a nice variety of options. We had a room with two double beds on the 4th floor of the hotel. We […] had windows on two walls, and also a small balcony, which provided views in three directions. We could see all the way down to the harbor, and had a direct view to the landmark church. The staff were extremely accommodating. We were able to book tours through them, and expenses were added to our room charge rather than paying for each tour individually. Staff were knowledgeable about restaurants and attractions, and we benefited from their recommendations. This hotel in the city center is within a ten minute walk to most sites. It is on a quiet street in a residential area, which was perfect for us. I would heartily recommend this hotel. It is unlikely that my travels will take me back to Reykjavik, but if I did return, I would enthusiastically stay at this hotel again. Læs mere

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. Parking is on the street, but we were able to find a spot within a few blocks each time we parked. The breakfast was a little expensive, but was very good. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony with a fantastic view. I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel was in the perfect location. It was down the street from the main church in town, so was extremely easy to find. It was also just over from the main, noisy street, so was perfect because it was so close to the action, but without the noise. This hotel bills itself as a four star hotel. It is not. They advertise as having breakfast included but I was told at the front desk it would cost me $17 a day. You would think for $17 there would be more than one hot item. My room was little bigger than a closet. I went to turn the TV on and the clicker had the batteries taped in. There were only […] about 5 working channels. Can't they have bottles of shampoo and soap instead you have to tear open packages with your teeth. Get another hotel. You will thank me. Læs mere

Stayed there for 3 nights. Perfect location-in center, but on a quiet street, so important if sleep is a consideration. Quality of service/hotel/room comfort were excellent.

Located in the heart of Reykjavik, this hotel provided my family and me the perfect "launching pad" to explore the city. We initially had some difficulty with our room, however the staff was consistently outstanding in addressing our concerns. Be aware the luxury apartments are several blocks from the main hotel; they currently have no staff/carts to […] assist in transporting luggage, and this was something of a disappointment for a 4-star hotel. In the apartments, also be prepared to lug your bags up a few flights... Once settled in, however, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Having a few amenities like a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer made us feel "right at home" in a new place. Læs mere

We selected this hotel based on its 4-star rating and multiple favorable reviews. We quickly learned that the star rating in Reykjavik must be on a different scale as our room was really akin to a Bed & Breakfast (without the Breakfast). The elevator was a tad bigger than a laundry chute and the room had NO 4-star amenities whatsoever. B&B like squeaky […] hardwood floors, very limited old-school TV, and ridiculously small and antiquated bath. I've seen bigger sinks at a kindergarten. The interior and exterior walls were also paper thin. The location was good and within easy walking distance to the main shopping and dining streets. The staff was friendly and helpful. Læs mere

A very clean, orgainized hotel with helpful efficient staff. The lobby and restaurant/bar are modern and beautiful... the rooms less modern (they obviously didn't get the "full" overhaul) but nonethless scrupulously clean. Small bathroom (typical European) and rotten-egg smelling water. (I believe this is the case throughout Reykjavik - must be sulpheric […] water). Super comfy beds. Easy walk to everything. Hotel is located in the hill above the City Center; easy to walk to the center and the hot dog stand ( a must for me). It is in a quiet location, so if there are any loud night activities in the street, you are removed from it. City is small and easy to get around. I had a rental car and it was easy to park around the hotel. We (two of us) took a dinner […] on check in, and had breakfast in the hotel before our start of the Golden Circle Drive. Dinner was nice and there were locals who dropped by for their own dinner-quality presentation in the attached samll dining room; typical European buffet breakfast, don't expect to have an omellette or fried eggs made, but ideal for us to have a good feed before an all day drive, so the convenience was the key factor for us. Free internet a plus after our hotel stays in higher cost properties in Paris and Amsterdam, just make sure you bring adapters and converters. Staff helpful; friendly after you break the ice. good guys, all dressed in black. English easily used by all staff. For travellers used to neighborhood European hotels as compared to the international chains, this is a good one with a reasonable price. I have stayed in all levels of hotels on my travels. Using Hotels.com, you will see the consistent reviews and good prices you can latch onto. During our two night weekend stay, did not appear to be a party hotel. Læs mere

I cant say enough great things about the staff and location of Odinsve. We were allowed to check in at 8am, were upgraded to 2 junior suites at no charge. The staff was always helpful and friendly and seemed to really care about our experience. I was there with my wife, son and parents so all the extras were great. They also provided free airport service […] and tours that saved us about $300.00 Location is a 5 minute walk from everything but a nice quiet block. Great experience. Definitely stay here. Læs mere

Hotel Odinsve was in a wonderful location because it was within a 5min or less walk to the main shopping street. The Hotel staff at the desk was great and very helpful. Wonderful, comfy and warm beds. The only thing I wish was better was the selection of tv channels because there was a bunch of channels but only a few came in. Four us went and stayed in two rooms. It was a great hotel and the staff were phenomenal in giving us ideas on what to do. They were helpful every time we needed something. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Very nice hotel right in the center of the downtown Reykjavik area, but away from the club area making it quiet on weekend nights. Friendly helpful staff, nice clean room, nice place. I would definitely consider staying here again.

My stay at Odinsve was lovely. I enjoyed it so much that I came back to Reykjavik my last night in Iceland and stayed my last night at the hotel. The breakfast spread was great and I really enjoyed the concierge service. Not only were the receptionists friendly, they were there 24 hours and always had helpful tips and were willing to book trips and […] even hotels around Iceland when I was planning my road trip. Odinsve is located a couple blocks off the main shopping street and a nice, easy walk from Tjornin and downtown. I would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in Reykjavik, not only for the facilities, but the great staff. Læs mere

This hotel is in a great location, close to downtown. The staff members were helpful and willing to assist guests. The single room was spacious and clean with dark curtains which helped block the midnight sun.

This hotel is not unlike others in Iceland meaning that it prob won't match with your expectations for the price if you live in US. But then again Iceland is about 50% more for most things so by that measure this hotel is fine. Pros: clean, central location, helpful front desk, fairly spacious room, free wifi. Cons: ikea qual furnishings, dreary street […] views, renowned restaurant siggihall no longer there. It won't blow your mind in any way and rates as a 3 star at most. Think Best Western. I give it a 3 overall rating bc I think the 4 star qual is misleading. Aim higher if you want a diff experience. Læs mere

Thanks to the airport hotels bus, which is timed for incoming flights, I was dropped right at the hotel without having to take a (pretty expensive) taxi. The hotel is small and cute, with a pleasant reception (has free wi-fi in this area only). It's set in a quiet residential area, only 5 minutes from the big white church (not a cathedral, I'm told!), […] and equally close to the main shopping street. Although nowhere in the centre is very far, you will appreciate the closeness of this hotel if you're out late, or if the weather is bad (be prepared for rain!). My room was a little small, but fine for me. The shower was small too, and be prepared for the sulphur smell from all hot water - however, it does grow on you! The room was also clean - the wooden floor helped give that impression too. I was a bit surprised at the single glazed window, which provided very little sound (I was woken up by the sound of workmen) or heat insulation. However, there was a powerful radiator to deal with the cold. The bed was very soft (which I personally don't like), and that was my main gripe. It's possible that there are larger rooms too, so best to ask on booking (I called the hotel before booking, and this is a good idea, to make sure about things. They were quite helpful). Breakfast was pleasant, with very friendly staff. Well worth a try! Læs mere

We stayed here for six nights in August. The location is perfect: you can walk to the shopping and nightlife, but it's quiet on the weekends. The staff is not very helpful - they'll make dinner reservations for you, but they aren't good at recommending things to see and do. We had two double deluxe rooms on the fourth floor. Room 404 was a little smaller […] without as nice a view and two twin beds pushed together instead of a queen. Room 403 was a little bigger, had a wraparound balcony (you can stand on, no furniture), a better view of the mountains, and an actual queen-size bed. Breakfast in the morning was typical small buffet with meat, cheese, cereal, fruit, juice. The rooms don't have bureaus, just closets. But Reykjavik and Iceland in general are wonderful, so have a great trip! Læs mere

Er godt fornøyd med dette hotellet. Fikk mye for pengene.

Rolig og hyggelig hotell sentralt i Reykjavik. Kun ca. 5 minutter å gå ned til sentrum. Flere hyggelige kafeer og spisesteder i nærheten, valgte derfor å ikke betale for frokost på hotellet. Hyggelig personale. Kan trygt anbefale hotellet.

Hotel Odinsve er et luksushotell i den forstand at det ikke er tepper på gulvene og at vinduene kan åpnes! Man slipper dermed den tette, ukomfortable inneluften som karakteriser veldig mange hoteller rundt om i verden. Vi hadde et superior rom i 4.etg med flott utsikt, og døren til verandaen kunne åpnes helt så det ble kald og fin sovetemperatur. Hotellet […] er også veldig rimelig og ligger veldig sentralt, så alt i alt et godt tilbud. Kan anbefales! Hyggelig personale i respesjonen også. Læs mere
