i liked the hotel but the beds were too small and the air conditioner didnt work well no refridgerator or microwave, which would be fine if room werent so pricey

"Austin Hotel is in a pefect location."
Room was very nice and comfortable with an excellent view. Hotel staff was VERY helpful and professional and made us feel welcome. Within walking distance of all the local attractions. We will definitely come back!

Won't stay there again. Hotel is right out of the 60's. Time to renovate the bathrooms, rooms, hallways, well everything in my opinion.

I would definately recommend this hotel. My family and I enjoyed the stay and the staff was great. Everything worth seeing was within walking distance from the hotel and the staff recommended a couple of great places to eat. We really enjoyed the Karaoke nite in the lounge and the food was great. A hotel connected to a convention center should be upgraded to a higher standard than this one. When you laid on the bed you could hear the springs squeaking. This hotel needs to spend some money. The staff was courteous and that helped. But the rate paid was a bit high for what was there.

"Although convenient, not the best choice!"
I originally chose this hotel because it was close to the convention center. However, convenience is the only thing this hotel offers. The parking garage is a block away, so they offer valet parking. It's inexpensive-only $5 per day, BUT there's only one valet. So it takes forever for you to get your car because the poor valet has to walk the block […] to get your car and a block when he picks it up. Also, if he's not at his desk, you have to leave your key at the front desk in order to get the service. There is only one housekeeper on duty throughout the evening, so if you need anything from housekeeping, you have to go downstairs to the front desk yourself to get it. There is free wifi, but it runs VERY slowly and it oftens goes out. The carpet is a nasty green and full of stains. There isn't a refrigerator in every room. So you have to request a room with one, or pray you get lucky. The ice machines do not work on every floor. I really think the hotel is overpriced! Læs mere

It was walking distance to downtown and the convention center which was great. I wanted a smoking room and they didn't have any available. The hotel seems outdated. Room was nice size. Bathroom small and either my room needed a new showerhead. Very little was coming out.

They have tried to update the hotel, mattress was old, stinky room, closet door broken and we asked to have it repaired, no one came. They were WAY UNDERSTAFFED. Took forever to get car from valet, only one on duty the whole weekend. Restaurant, only one waitress, and people left waiting on a seat. Not worth the price at all.

Although we spent only one night at the Austin in Hot Springs, we enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the courteous service, the cleaniliness of the room, and the convenience of the location to the part of downtown where we were attending the documentary film festival.

We had a late arrival and we were told to park the car two buildings down - there were no carts to transport the luggage - had to drive back to the hotel to find somebody to get a cart and help . This should have been explained upon check-in. In the room the carpet was heavily stained. Closid had a folding door and the rail was broken we did not dare […] to use it. Late at night while using the bathroom I saw a couple of bugs. I killed one put it in a cup and took it to the reception desk the next morning. Under no circumstances could we stay anylonger. This used to be a nice hotel, but now it is full fledged DUMP. It is dirty and has not been updated for years. Parking is inconvenient and service is non existent. If you are coming to a conference at the convention center and can't get in the Embassy Suites, go anywhere BUT HeRE! You will not like this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel a year ago to attend the same type of meeting we were attending this year. We had two rooms(705 & 709)The hotel has gone DOWN....I had to call for more towels because the large(drying)towels had stains on them, were wrinkle, as if they had not been cleaned at all....the carpet was faded and stained....the bathroom was filthy, […] the floor looked as if it had been mopped with dirty water or a dirty mop, the bath tub was dirty, no tops for the ice buckets, the blankets on the beds had some type of brown stains on them. Last year we enjoyed a breakfast buffet, that was no longer available. I ordered a plain Belgium Waffle(4.95) from the menu and was charged 5.50 as if I had ordered strawberries and cream. When I brought this to the waitress's attention, it was as if I was insulting her or inconveniencing her to show her that I had been overcharged....she went on to say(in a huff), "well I'll just take the coffee off, cause I can't change the ticket!".....she did eventually bring a new ticket that indicated exactly what I had ordered. I was just so disappointed. There were four of us and the concensus was that next year if our meeting is in Hot Springs, we will NOT be using this hotel again. Læs mere

Lovely older hotel. Staff were exceptionally pleasant. Room was very large with relatively new carpet. Has great views Good restaurant with reasonable prices. Very inexpensive valet parking.

The Austin Hotel is a bit dated, though as new or newer than any downtown. Very convenient. The staff on our visit were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. I usually expect more for this price, but this wasn't my first stay at the Austin and I hope I'll be returning.

yes i would stay here again. employees were very nice and helpful. i only had 2 problems while staying here..... the ice machine was not working on the 8th floor and was very disappointed with massage had there...

This hotel looks dingy and dirty! The interior finishes look as though they have not been updated in 20+ years. The linens, carpet, chair fabric and more were stained. I would have checked out immediately but I had already paid, did not want to loose money and only had to stay one night. BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN!!!!!!
"Great Staff, Great Location, But........"
The location was next door to the convention center so it was perfect in that regard. The staff was friendly and professional and didn't miss a beat. But, the hotel itself is old and somewhat rundown. The lobby is nice, however, my room was clean but the hallways were hot, not air conditioned. My linens, carpet, were well worn. The AC in my room worked […] fine, thankfully! No microwave nor mini-fridge. I was going to get ice until I noticed the ice bucked didn't have a lid or a liner. The restaurant closed at 9PM and since I arrived at 8:30 it was too late to get anything to eat there so I ordered a pizza. The TV was an old 19" type. No hair dryer in the room. Basically the hotel was convenient, the staff friendly and profficient, but the hotel itself was old, worn, and lacked basic amenities one expects today. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Austin. The price was resonable. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice. The swimming pool was a little disappointing but OK. I do reccomend it.

This Hotel was once a nice place, but no longer. One funny thing, all the help was walking around in scrubs, I felt like I was in a nursing home. Staff was very friendly. Rooms had old furniture with curtains from one hotel, bedspreads from another and TV that did not fit in furniture. TV had very small screen. This hotel was very convenient to downtown, but not right in the middle, which is great. Parking was close & safe, no charge. Room was large & very comfortable. We had a massage in the hotel spa-excellent & highly recommended. We will definitely go back.

Room was clean & decent. No hot tub. postage stamp size pool which we did not even try to squeeze into. Don't eat at the hotel restaurant. Lousy food and even worse service. Downtown with a lot of activities within walking distance. Over all okay for a night.

Looks like it was last updated in the 70's. Carpet is worn out, beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, no refrigerator, Generally dirty and dingy. Worst I've seen for the price. I won't be going back.

Very disappointed by the wait required to check-in. Only had two people at the front desk and there were 15-20 people in line waiting -- waited 20 minutes or more just to get checked in. Hotel was dated but clean. Rooms were small & dated as well...but also clean. Hotel has a nice restaurant, bar w/live band on most weekends, indoor pool, & spa services. And, is in a GREAT location for walking to all kinds of other restaurants & night life if you wish to get out of Hotel for the evening. It is very outdated. Way too expensive for what you get. When I got there my TV didn't work. Had to call maitenance and he got it to work but you couldn't change channels using the up and down button. Minor I know but for the money, the TV should work properly. The bed was horrible. I felt every spring. The water in the bathroom was SCALDING hot. THe […] cold did not work. I couldn't wash my face it was so hot. The shower was the same for a while but after I let it run for about 5 minutes it leveled out. The only thing that was worth the money was the convenience of the location. Connected to the convention center and right down the block from Bath House Row. All in all, I would not reccomend unless someone needed the convenience. Læs mere

"THE place to stay in Hot Springs"
The rates were resonable. The bed was great especially for those with back problems. The in hotel diner was excellent with good food and wonderful service. The room was clean and well kept. Will visit again
