A great boutique hotel. Well located . Great packages - we especially loved the breakfasts! Lots of little extras hotels do not offer like free coffes and massage chairs during the day Great after service! By mistake I left my battery charger in the room and they are sending it on to me

Second time we have stayed at this hotel. Very convenient after taking the Skybus from the airport in to the bus terminal at Spencer Street railway station. One has only to cross Spencer Street and the hotel is only a five minute walk away. This saves you ringing up and then waiting to be collected by the Skybus company on departure. The cleanest hotel I have ever been to,and the staff where first rate.

Conveniently located to public transportation but did also offer secured parking nearby. Loved the convenience of a full kitchenette and was pleasantly surprised when we returned to our room to find that our breakfast dishes were washed and put away.

Nice hotel - the standard room is a little small but is totally fine for a night or two. Great location for Southern Cross station and an easy walk or tram ride into the CBD. Only real issue was the shower pressure was a bit weak and the linen a bit rough on the skin. Unfortunately there was a bit of an issue with lost luggage but they did resolve it. Pleasant stay at this boutique hotel. The room we got was tiny, but its probably our fault having arrived at midnight during the AO tennis week. It was prob the worst room in the hotel. reasonable price for a very good location. close to shopping area, nice restaurants, train station, and good starting point to walk around Melbourne.

If travelling by train using Southern Cross station, this hotel is in a super convenient spot. Small and basic, but excellent with it. Service was great and having your own kitchenette was definately an advantage to a normal hotel room. Plenty of cafés and restaurants conveniently around the corner. Disappointing! The hotel was old and worn down. The rooms were very tiny. Good location, but I would recommend other alternatives.

Highly recommend the Alto. The staff are wonderful, the breakfast is extensive (you get to order whatever you want off of a breakfast menu), the location is superb (two blocks from the main railway station) and the rooms are very comfortable. Great place!!!

This place was perfect, especially for a single woman on business. That said, I will be recommending it to anyone travelling. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. It has a small area where you can read newspapers and make yourself some espresso. Rooms were a good size and they are environmentally conscious. Just a lovely little boutique hotel.

This hotel is all about function over form. Rooms are small, and because it's an old office building that was converted, there are not a lot of windows or natural light. The hotel's dedication to environmentally sustainable operations means the bathrooms are poorly lit. The linens are poor-quality. They have 1 or 2 bedroom apts or a normal studio room with small kitchenette. Generally quite convenient, just a stone's throw away from Southern Cross train station and not in the noisy neighbourhood. Staff at reception are very professional and helpful. No parking on-site; limited parking lots off-site abt 3 mins walk away. Excellent hotel although the room we stayed in was quite small.It was well locate, as it was only about 300 meters from the main bus and train station.We caught a shuttle bus from the airport,they leave about every 15 mins which takes you to said bus station.Breakfast at the hotel was well worth paying for it was very good.Had free wi fi while we were […] there which you could use in your room,also 2 computers for free use downstairs.Washing machines for personal use on the floor we were on, don't know if you had to pay. Couldn't fault this hotel. Lots of little touches that add to the comfort of your stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Complimentary coffee machine in dining room -they even provide takeaway cups with lids. Great location, right next to Etihad stadium and tram stops right out the door. Very clean and comfortable room with nice little touches that make you feel right at home. Free wi-fi for guests. Carbon neutral so they are very conscious of being as green as they can be. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Would stay there again without a doubt.

Das Hotel Alto on Bourke ist ein kleines, sehr gut ausgestattetes und gut geführtes Hotel. Es liegt mitten im Zentrum und nur wenige Meter von Bahnhof, Flughafenbusterminal und öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln entfernt und ist trotzdem sehr ruhig. ホテルのあるバーク通りはデパート街に通じているし、トラムレストラン集合場所への市街電車停車に近い、セブンイレブンも近くにあり、そこで電車の一日券も買える。　 　ホテルのフロントは実に親切な対応、笑顔で接してくれる。 　1Fの食堂では自由にコーヒー各種が飲める、ブレックファーストは有料で食べられる。 　メルボルンは為替を考慮しても、一般に物価は高い、簡単なランチでも1000円以下はみかけなかった。

Alto Hotel is so near from Southern Cross station and provides adequate service to its guests. Friendly staff, Nice location and Environmental-Friendly Policies explain why you should consider staying at Alto. It will definitely be my utmost choice if I have an opportunity to stay in Melbourne again.

I stayed at Alto Hotel on Bourke for three days in a two bedroom loft apartment with my family. The room was small but well equipped and tidy. Elderly people should not book this room as the stairs are too steep. Also, the mattresses are a bit soft. The location of the hotel is perfect, but don't expect any good views.
