I loved the Oceanfront Suite, very comfortable and spacious for the 3 of us. The only thing that bothered me was the ice maker was broken on the 3rd floor, and I didn't feel like searching for the other.

First impressions are important, and everyone at the front desk was great. They were helpful and knowledgable of the area. The room was a little dated and in need of some repair. The couch was a little rough and there was paint chipping in the bathroom. The view was fantastic and everything worked. House keeping was their downfall. It was one of the […] worst we have encountered. crumbs were on the floor when we got there and still on the floor when we left. We were on our honeymoon so the perfect hotel was our aim and this one was! We were comfortable, it was very clean and tidy, and the staff were very nice! Overall, the hotel was nice. Our room was clean and nice. The only drawback was that our sofabed did not have a mattress so we could not use it. The hotel was far enough from the main strip that you didn't get the congestion and noise from the cars and people. Great view of the ocean. I would stay here again.

With so many ocean front hotels, how best can you pick one? Sure, price matters to many but so does cleanliness, service, comfort and basic ammenities. Well, the TV only had 13 channels (including promotional fluff stuff) -- not sure why we didn't think to call to have that fixed until almost the last day but we finally called. Oh, the phone didn't […] work... had to call the front desk from our cell. The bed was hard -- bring your own pillow -- their pillow had very little fluff. Old TV in the room. It was just an old hotel but the price was right for our spring break stay and yes, it was ocean front. Don't really think about cooking -- the kitchen had a stove but was TOO small to do more than microwave. Moral of the story, sometimes you can't have it all for a reasonable price. There was FREE Wifi but that should be a given in this day and age. There is another Sand Castle more central to the family kindom -- this is not that. The hotel was comfortable and convenient to the beach. The area itself needs improvement on basic conveniences such as coffee shops and restaurants. You definitely need a car to leave the area and find activities to do other than staying at the beach. The entire strip down Ocean Blvd is definitely out of date with little or no improvements to make the […] area clean or comfortable for family trips. My friend and I needed a restful peaceful holiday and that is what we had. The weather was cool but we caught some sun in the mornings on the private balcony. Being right on the beach with the waves, sunrise and moon was wonderful. Thank you.

The view from our room could not have been more delightful, but the room itself needs some work. The shredded, sun-damaged curtains on the ocean side need to be replaced, the bathroom needs some attention (loose toilet seat, peeling paint, NO ventilation) and some serious attention needs to be paid to weatherproofing (read windproofing) the suite. During […] one of the "high wind warning" days while we were there, the wind blew in so hard through the heating/air conditioning unit that the curtains blew and it looked as thought the unit fan was blowing on high (it wasn't on!) and the whistling around the door to the suite was excessive. The Sandcastle could benefit from an energy audit. I'll bet they are throwing a ton of money away on heating/cooling. I was also a little confused about the housekeeping service. Our towels got changed if we asked for it, but the bed was never changed. The staff was promptly responsive in fixing our phones. I would be very disappointed if I was paying "in-season" rates! For what we paid, the room was good. It is outdated though and we asked about the "newly updated rooms" and we were told they were all the same. Great view and loved the hot tub, when it wasn't full of underage kids. Restaurant was only open for breakfast though, and the breakfast wasn't anything to brag about. The room was clean and the kitchen worked well. We enjoyed the hot tubs right off the beach. It is right on the strip and 2 minutes from everything. We would definitely book here again.

I was expecting the standard Myrtle Beach hotel experience; thread bare carpet, worn out mattress, musty smelling room, sand everywhere. Fantastic ocean view. Pools were fantastic, indoor and outdoor pools are heated. Hotel needs to start upgrading it's rooms. Sheets were not comfortable. Overall it was a great weekend trip and, wouldn't mind going back.

Off-season rates and parking were great. The pool and hot tub are conveniently located. I'd stay here again.

For the price of this hotel with ocean front it was worth every penny. A little dated but overall nice and it was clean, the lazy river is not heated so we couldn't use it. The outdoor pool was nice 95 degrees heated and the indoor and outdoor spas were fantastic. Our view was great of the ocean and the walk was not too far from the boardwalk about […] 45mins of a nice paced stroll, 3 mins by car, I prefer to be further away from the crowdedness so you can really enjoy the vacation, the bar tender downstairs at the lounge was nice and they had some decent drink specials. Didn't enjoy the beach much because it was freezing out so we stuck mostly to the pool, i think we would of really enjoyed what this hotel and area had to offer to the max if it was mid spring or late summer/early fall, just too cold in march. However for a scenic one night/day stay at a decent price on way to destination was worth it. I can't even find ocean front in the northeast at any time of year for near what we paid for this one at myrtle beach. Læs mere

My stay was good for the price; however, to place price tags all over the room relative to what your products cost was very tacky and in bad taste. For example, if a dish is left in the sink a charge will be incurred. I felt as I was in a discount store rather than a hotel room. My family and I have decided not to return.

I was disappointed because the overall rating was barely at average. The room could have been cleaner, the service could have been a lot better. The cleanliness of the room was only average. There wasn't any thing for the kids to do beside the pool. But if you just want a quiet get away with your spouse this would be the perfect place.

The housekeeping staff were excellent, as was the front desk staff. Pools were heated(both inside and outside). Restaurant and lounge available, but due to off season restaurant only open 7-11am. Location was close to 17 business and easy access to other sites. Only confusion was there are two Sandcastles (north and south) that can be problematic.
