Fantastisk beliggenhed i gåafstand fra shopping og det skæve tårn. Smuk, gammel bygning med masser af charme og super betjening fra hotellets ansatte, som taler fint engelsk. God morgenmad. Virkelig godt hotel til prisen.

Very Nice old hotel with atmosphere. However, lot of noice from Streets, book a room at top flor... No kitchen so you cannot get anything to eat except breakfast - and no bacon and eggs if you want that for breakfast. Single beds in double room. We stayed at this hotel on our way to Tuscany with a 1 night stop-over in Pisa. It’s beautifully located by the Arno river in the middle of the city, 10 minutes walk from the central station and 10 minutes by taxi from the airport. The hotel itself is a charming old building with stone stairways and tiled floors all over the place. We had to go through […] a lenghty registration procedure on our arrival after midnight (with two tired children!!) which was quite annoying. Especially since I had to do some of it over again the next morning because they didn’t get all the info they needed. We stayed in a room with a shared toilet and bath outside in the corridor which was fine for us. It was clean and had a sink and comfortable beds. It was also quite cool because of the stone floors and dark shutters. Breakfast is excellent with a lot of variety. The hotel also has a beautiful rooftop terrace where you can enjoy your coffee or drinks. The sights of Pisa are within walking distance of this hotel, and I recommend it as a base for exploring Pisa. Læs mere

Det var en fantastisk oplevelse at bo på Royal V. Det skæve tårn er sådan set det eneste der er af seværdigheder i Pisa - Også dette hotel. Det er som at få lov at bo på et museum, alt er antikt og smukt dekoreret. Vi boede på et værelse uden toilet og bad, og var lidt spændte på det, men det var ikke noget problem, og over alt var der pænt og rent. […] Der er ingen aircon. men så føler man bare så meget mere atmosfæren fra dengang det blev bygget! Det er nok en god ide med ørepropper, hvis man ikke sover tungt, for til den ene side er der en meget støjende sidegade. Men alt i alt, får det topkarakter. Det er smukt, fyldt med historisk atmosfære, rent, meget imødekommende personale, dejlig tagterasse, stemningsfulde lokaler. Det gjorde virkelig vores weekend i Pisa til noget særligt. Læs mere

Hyggelig atmosfære og meget venligt personale. Beliggenheden 5 min fra det Skæve Tårn er perfekt og Banegården/Lufthavnen er perfekt

Hotellet ligger meget centralt og med en fantastisk udsigt over floden. Lækker og varieret morgenmad. Hotellet indbyder til at gå på opdagelse da der er så mange sjove og spændende ting fra fortiden. Meget venligt personale. Måske kunne de udvikle lidt på airconditioneringen.

Fint gammelt hotel. Forvent ikke et nyt og moderne hotel. Det er rigtig spændende at gå rundt i de store gange på hotellet.

Vi kom desværre til at bestille et værelse uden bad og toilet, men med bidet og måtte derfor gå en lille tur for at komme på toilet og i bad - det gik - og vi accepterede vores fejl da det vasr for 3 nætter vi skulle bo der!!!!! Hotellet har sikkert været et meget flot hotel for mange år siden, men mangler meget en kærlig hånd idag!!

Hotellet er fra 1905 og har i det store bibeholdt meget af stilen det betyder at værelserne er gamle, triste og slidte og ikke har moderne komfort. De fleste af værelserne havde vinduer, der vendte direkte ind mod en mur og derved ikke direkte dagslys. Derudover var kakler på gulv og vægge med til give en følelse at af bo i et badeværelse hvad der […] forstærkede den indelukkede celle følelse. Hotellet ligger centralt men direkte ud til studenterne fest mekka bag og der er meget højlydt fest udenfor frem til kl. 4 hver nat og der er meget lydt. Kun Italienske kanaler og hylende tv - mug på badeværlse og maling i flager på badet. Læs mere

Close to all the interesting places. Both the City Centre and the famous tower. Excellent breakfast and nice people!

At træde ind i dette hotel, er som at træde ind i historien.Møbler,billeder,gulve,lysekroner fra før 1900. Værelserne kunne man godt føre up to date. Der var ingen aircondition og det var meget varmt. Sengene var gamle og ikke så behagelige. Badeværelset ok. På 4 sal var en vidunderlig grøn tagterrrasse,hvor man kunne få bragt kaffe,drinks op efter […] en lang dag ude.Stort plus. Det er et fantastisk hotel - lige som at bo på et museum - og beliggenheden er perfekt - tæt på banegården og det skæve tårn. .. Vi blev taget fint imod kl. 00.30. Hver etage rummer billeder, møbler, flotte mosaikgulve og et stemning, som man skal lede længe efter. Det er meget specielt indrettet. We booked a room without bath and toilet .Wen we arrived they "upgraded" us to a room with private bath and toilet, but I t hink they did that, so that we wouldnt complain about the room we actually got! It was with very ugly 70 furniture, worn down,very soft bed, facing a brickwall and with noise from the street, did not have any of the great atmosphere […] the rest of the hotel has.We only had to stay one night and there was a lovely roofterrace and very helpfull friendly staff ,ok breakfast and the price was very low considering the location, but if we should have stayed any longer It would have affected our experiences that the room was so worn down and small. Old stylish and beatyfull hotel close to the leaning tower. It's like living in a museum. Large rooms and good service. But the noise from the street completely ruined our stay. I will not recommend it to others

We loved it! Clean, beautiful and spacious. Old palace-typ building. Parking right in front on the street (free), 5 minutes drive from Pisa Airport, upgraded to a wonderful big room with a view of Arno (the beautiful river running through the city), great restaurants in the area and a short walk to the city centre (in one direction) or the leaning tower […] (the other direction). Rigtig fint og specielt hotel med masser af charme og autencitet! Beliggenheden i forhold til seværdighederne og centrum er rigtig fin. Skøn terrasse til fælles afbenyttelse. Airconditionen på værelset var eneste lille minus - den fungerede ikke optimalt. Morgenmaden var helt i top! Bus til stationen og lufthavnen kører 50 meter fra hotellets indgang. Hotel had enormous character. Staff very helpful. Conveniently located half way between the Leaning Tower and the railway station.

Great location, 5/10 mins from the tower and right next to the market area and nightlife (Pisa's pretty small anyway), and along the river front which is great. Hotel is quite quirky - haven't been to a hotel with an actual old brass key for your room for a long time, and it does look like it was a boarding school once. Our shower did leak unfortunately […] but they did come and sort things out for us immediately which was brilliant. Overall an enjoyable stay. Læs mere

It was the worst hotel that i have stayed. The bathroom was the dirtiest. I didnt see a bathroom where you have to worry about leg room! I have taken few pictures showing the dirty bath room, but there is no option to upload them.The thin mattress was on a cheap bed and it made a loud noise even if i turned slightly. I wonder if the positive feed backs […] were entered by the hotel itself. The only good thing is that the breakfast was free, which id not find it in other hotels i stayed in Italy. Great value for money- If you are expecting five star then expect to pay five star prices, and perhaps Victoria with its warm atmosphere is not for you. We stayed in six hotels around Tuscany and this was favorite.The staff were friendly, informative and helpful. The hotel was in a good location near to train station, and leaning tower. Hotel and bedroom […] was authentic, with lots of varied furnishings and decor to look at, in fact we spent a good hour just looking around the hotel rooms and looking out at some of the balcony views. Breakfast Buffet was good with fab coffee. The terrace was a real sun trap, we ordered a coffee which came with biscuits and a smile. The only downside we found was that we were only staying one night , and on suites had been taken, the shared toilet needed clean and fix as seat would not go down. Great hotel! We weren't that far from anything and we were within walking distance from the Leaning Tower. Hotel is old but clean. Front desk managers are extremely nice and very helpful. Breakfast was GREAT!! Truly enjoyed it. We had a great view. The AC didn't work (we stayed here in March when the weather wasn't hot, but a bit cool) but we couldn't […] open the windows to get any kind of air circulation. We loved the key to the open; very old fashion and charming. Although we only stayed here one day, we would definitely stay here again (but probably not during summer time.) Læs mere

Stayed here on the way back from Florence to Dublin with my daughters. We all adored this hotel, it made such a lovely change from the small basic room we stayed in Florence . On arrival we were upgraded to a superior room free of charge. The staff were friendly and helful. As we had an early flight leaving before Breakfast we were told there would […] be coffee, juice etc and light snack in the lobby from 4.30am . We loved the old world feel to the Hotel. Wonderfull hotel with amazing crew. The view to the arno is beautifull. The crew is very helpfull abd provides information about almost everything. The rooms are very big and comftorable equipted. Great location. A very good 3 stars hotel to a perfect vacation in a wonderfull city.

On the river. 20 euro for 24 hours secure parking. 2 euro an hour for poor signal wi fi. Good breakfast.

Comfortable old hotel conveniently located midway between train station and the Leaning Tower. Easy walking distance to main sites. The room needs some updating. Bed covering was worn and torn.

Built in 1939, the Royal Victoria Hotel feels like staying in a museum. Staff was friendly and the room was clean, but I wish someone had told me to stay in Florence and taken a few hours to see the tower instead of staying in Pisa. It really didn't feel like a safe city, and the restaurant choices weren't that great.

The room seemed clean, superficially, but there was an overpowering bad smell. I had a hard time sleeping because of the noise from the street, until 2:00am, and then the noise on my floor in the hotel from 2:00am to 6:00am. This is a hotel for college students apparently who are very loud all night even during the week. Judging from the signs posted […] in the hotel many of them become too drunk and fall into the river. It gives a historical feeling and the small garden at level 4 is nice. However the noise from the disco nearby is hard to be ignored. The room hv a strange smell. The hotel is near the riverside and not hard to find. The breakfast hv many choice.

Must have been great in its hay day. Very centrally located. Bedrooms are very basic, but the staff were very helpful and the breakfast spread was impressive. Overall very good value for money

I loved this hotel. The service was great, very historical and close to everything. The only down side was that my room backed up to the alley and it was filled with people partying until 2-3 in the morning. I read a previous blog about this, so I brought ear plugs and it helped. I would return again.

For 2 backpacking females the hotel was easily accessible by foot from the train station and the major sites. The location on the river is a delight of an evening, and there are plenty of welcoming restaurants and cafès nearby, away from the more tourist-orientated establishments. Spent only one night, but that was a good one. Staff is very friendly, room clean, shared bathroom clean and had hot water. Did not have the chance to taste the breakfast buffet, but it smelled very nice! Location is just perfect, far better than staying close to the leaning tower. It is only 10min walk to the tower anyway, and very close to the shopping […] & pedestrian streets. I would definitely recommend this hotel and even go back if I had to stop by Pisa again. Læs mere

This is a lovely old hotel, full of charm! Our room was really clean and comfortable. If you want to step back in time from the hustle and bustle of some modern hotels then this is the place to stay! The staff were really polite and helpful, reminiscent of bygone days.

The breakfast was really good and the hotel staff were incredibly accommodating. The hotel isn't far from the train station, the main shopping street, the main eating district and the Leaning Tower. It's very well positioned for anyone who has not been to Pisa before. However, try to get a room on the left hand side of the hotel (if you're looking […] at it from the street outside) because there is an alley way on the right hand side and if you're in those rooms then sleep is impossible. The alley is incredibly loud and busy all night. The noise was ridiculous and although this is not the hotel's fault, you will need earplugs if you want to stay here. I shared a toilet and bathroom at the hotel. The toilet was close to my room and it was clean, however if you're in a rush to get to the loo and you're staying alone then beware because the locks on the doors are difficult to operate and it may take you a few minutes before you can figure them out! I also shared the shower room which was a floor above mine. There was hardly any water pressure, the showerhead was broken and because I was the third one in that morning, it wasn't as clean as I would have liked. None of that should put you off though! The hotel is really well situated and Pisa is a fantastic city with loads of lovely restaurants and sights and it should definitely be on your Italian adventure list. The hotel reception is also willing to keep your bags for you when you've booked out but want to explore the city and they were incredibly accommodating when I returned during a downpour and asked to use the bathroom and sit in the reception area for a while. If it's not raining then you could also go up to the 4th floor where they have a terrace which is absolutely beautiful. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Læs mere

The Royal Victoria Hotel is interesting as a historic place, which they have made good use of by a display of old photos etc showing illustrious visitors and events in the past. The layout of the rooms (sets of rooms off a large lobby or hall) is also of interest, and the public rooms are quite grand. However, the rooms are also rather historic in […] their services and furniture, not in a good way. There were hardly any power sockets in our room, and although there were two bedside lights, only one could be plugged in. It wasn't as clean as Italian hotels usually are either. Also, our room (with window opening on the smelly alley to the side of the hotel) was very noisy, but it was Saturday night. We didn't have an en-suite room, and so the toilet was separate and the shower was two floors above (but wash basin and bidet in the room). The breakfast was good though and the price was not expensive. Because of the interesting historical character of the hotel I think it is worth a visit, but don't expect luxury or even much comfort.
