We loved it.....we didn't want to leave. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are decorated so wonderfully. you simply couldn't ask for a better place to stay. We purchased a gift certificate for our next visit. Don't miss an opportunity to stay here.

My husband and I took a little R & R at Peter Sheild's. We are returning guests and love the Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are immaculately clean and tidy. All employees are extremely cordial and can't do enough for you. Bridget is the best! If you need anything all you have to do is ask. We stayed here the weekend of April 13 and had a wonderful visit. Room #1 was so comfortable - fireplace, ocean front, comfy bed and huge bath. We ate at the restaurant that night and the food was fantastic. The service both at the B&B and at the restaurant was wonderful - everyone was super friendly and accomodating. Our only suggestion would be to […] restrict access to the communal area outside of rooms 1 and 2 later in the evening. I am 7 months pregnant and was ready to go to bed by 11pm and there was still somewhat of a party going on outside of our room door. A bit frustrating, but could easily be addressed. We did not say anything as we did not want to create an issue, but something for the inn owners to consider moving forward. All in all, a great visit and we highly recommend. Læs mere

The Inn is beautiful and we loved the room - the one disappointment was in dinner -- I ordered the hanger stake, and if I had not been enjoying the ambiance, and the beautiful surrondings; I would have returned the meal because it was way below par considering the Zagat rating.

LOVED our one night stay. Staff is great, breakfast was delicious. We loved our room, and enjoyed the 4:00 wine and cheese in the sitting area. Can't wait to go back. There is even a hospitality room where you can get snacks and beverages anytime you want. This was a big plus, as I had my coffee immediately after I woke. Just the way I like it!

My husband and I just returned from Cape May where we stayed at Peter Shield's Inn. The inn is in a quieter section on Beach Ave. and was right across from the beach. There is also a comfort station right there as well, which was wonderful. One didn't have far to go to use a restroom while on the beach. The inn it self was beautiful and well maintained […] as well as the rooms, which were lovely. The only concern we encountered are the matresses are very high off the ground, which could be an issue for someone with leg, knee or hip problems... my husband who is 6'4" could not rest his feet flush to the ground. This didn't deter me ... I loved the inn so much, I would bring a step stool, lol! We also ate at the resturant, which was wonderul the food was cooked perfectly and arranged professionally on the plate. We took advantage of the early seating fixed price menu, which cost $40.00. Bridget, Meg and all the staff were so kind and helpful in everyway. So don't be afraid to ask them any questions you might have. Two services the inn offers which my husband liked very much was the free 24-hour beverage and snack room and the daily free wine and cheese at 4:30 PM. The latter helped you meet other guests... it was a great ice breaker for conversation. We really loved our stay and would recommend it highly. Læs mere

We really liked the location of the B&B. The breakfast in the morning was very good with a full menu. The beach was right across the street and the downtown shopping and resturant area was an easy mile walk ( we did it several times ). The Inn is older victorian and parking is provided off the street. Lots of extras provided including bikes and beach […] towels at no charge. Across the street from the beach. Wine and cheese cocktail hour daily. Breakfast on the screened in porch while watching dolphins swim by. The cocktails and breakfast were included in the price. Service was excellent. Room was spacious...clean.....with private bath. A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO STAY IN CAPE MAY!!!!!!

The hotel staff were accommodating and really friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived the rooms are lovely and there are wonderful places to sit and enjoy the ocean view or meet other guests There is a 24-hour hospitality room well stocked with coffee, snacks,soft drinks. The only issue we had was that the central A/C unit was not working and […] the window unit that temporarily replaced it meant that the only window in the room was unable to be opened - no fresh sea breeze available at all. It was really a little claustrophobic given that we had the smallest room in the place. The bed was also extremely soft. The room was expensive - this is not a bargain by any definition, but the inn was sold out and there were no other solutions than to grin and bear it. Charming bed and breakfast, with excellent staff, and out of this world dinning. They provided us with beach chairs, towels, and umbrella. We loved walking the short distance to the beach and wine and cheese at 5pm.

I took my girlfriend here for a surprise birthday weekend getaway. I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to write one for the Peter Shields Inn. The hotel is charming. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. The food -- including the breakfast offerings -- is first rate. Beach access is right across the street, and the hotel provides beach […] chairs and umbrellas. Also, no need to rent bikes -- the hotel has its own that you can use. This inn is really charming. The staff are all friendly. There are generous amenities, such as free snack of many varieties, free beach equipment and bicycles. There was a pianist in the evening playing beautiful standards. The overall feeling is one of fine relaxation. This hotel really knows how to spoil you.

This B&B offers great rooms, service, and a good location. The rooms were very pricy but provided a top notch stay in every aspect. We had a great time. We were very excited to spend a few days in Cape May since we vacationed in the area years ago. So exciting to see all the new places and how clean and well kept everything was. I absolutely loved the bed - it was so comfortable and the sheets do great that I didn't want to get out anymore. for the great breakfast it is absolutely worth it thou. the service couldn't be any better. it is highly recommendable to stay there.

The Inn was very comfortable and cozy without feeling small. The staff was very helpful and courteous and the room was clean and nice. Even our pjs were folded! We would definitely stay there again!

Staff was very attentive. Breakfast was fine and snacks are available 24 hrs a day. Furnishings are either antique or antique in design. The only drawback is lack of consideration aobut noise by other guests who on the floor above you.
