My husband and I stayed here in a king suite condo for 2 nights this past Memorial Day weekend. Overall we were immensely pleased with the hotel. There is also a game room onsite, a small 1 hoop basketball "court", tether-ball area, horseshoe setup, volleyball court and even a shuffle-board setup all down near the beach! Plenty of activities keep guests from all walks of life entertained. The ladies working at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating - especially when we checked in after 4 pm and our room was not ready. One of the clerks immediately took action and swapped us out to another king suite so we did not have to wait for our room to be ready. There were a few negatives: there is only 1 elevator per wing and the East Wing elevator was out of service during our entire stay which was a slight inconvenience and surprise especially on a weekend as busy as Memorial Day; the pool furniture left much to be desired (hard, cheap plastic chairs that did not amount to any sort of comfort even when covered by a beach towel) and the room towels were so rough that I felt like I was ex-foliating my skin as opposed to drying off after showering. My GPS directed me fairly close. Apparently this is a newly renovated hotel that sits on the beach. It is located between mile-8 and mile-9. I called to see where they were located when my GPS kept stating that it was around mile-7. The hotel is beautiful, inside and out. They are located on the beach with an amazing view. The staff was extremely warm […] and inviting. Honestly I hated that I had to leave. I felt like I was at home. They have the option of purchasing a time-share, which I think I will once it is available. Since they just took over the building, the time-share part is not ready for purchasing yet. This hotel is very close to all sorts of attractions, restaurants, and other activities. The fitness room was a nice size, and their pool and hot tub were magical. I loved watching the pelicans fly by from my balcony, as well as the sunrise. They have complimentary DVDs, and games that you can check-out during your stay also! The room was very clean, and smelled wonderful. Unlike some hotels that have the musty smell from smoke and goodness knows what else. The internet speed is fast and free, all you have to do is accept the terms of service agreement. The lobby has a market place, where you can buy food and other things that you might want on your stay. I wish I could rate them higher than a five, they deserve it. I was concerned about being so far from the action, but when i arrived at the hotel i was very pleased with the location. My wife and i enjoyed the stay. The beach is much nicer and alot cleaner. We had a wonderful time at the hotel. It was located a few miles away from downtown Galveston, but close to sight seeing. We walked a very short distance to the beach. The sunrises were amazing! Feeding the seagulls is one of my favorite things to do. Plenty of activites for everyone from volleyball, horseshoes, backetball, shuffle board, something […] for all. Very relaxing! We enjoyed this resort/hotel. It was like staying in a resort at hotel prices. We had a B unit, which had one bedroom, and a fold out couch, very small balcony and small kitchenette, which was perfect for our 3 person family for a short 3-day stay. I would want a bigger unit if staying longer. The ONLY problem was the hot tub was not heating while we […] were there and that was a bummer because it turned out to be rather chilly while we were there, so we really wanted to get in. But they did say they were working on it and I would think it would be fixed soon. And even though we didn't get to enjoy it much, they do have a beautiful infinity pool. (a couple more lounge chairs would have been nice). Also we were a few miles down the road from what seemed to be the "main" touristy area, kinda nice if you don't like crowds, but in more of the main season, you may miss out on some of the fun. Terrible!!! Property is overpriced. Not worht the money. We get there on Saturday march 9 and everything started wrong. Get a room we dont want. the only choice we have was to stay or leave and be charge for one night. Was spring break and they dont have nothing else. We book for 5 night and after the third night we want to leave, but my wife convince […] me to stay the other 2 night just to no loose the money. The swimming pool was cold or freezing. No enough chair so we have to stand in the wall with our beloging, and leave there to go to the pool. The beach not good at all.. Room was just cleaned (floor still wet) even though we checked in at 6pm. Check in could have been faster. Good location, 1-2 miles from the end of seawall, still on the beach. Newly remodeled and stocked, light wear on furnishings. All facilities were clean. AC was not cooling during the night, forgot to check with the front desk before heading out […] in the morning. Still not working when i returned (8pm). I called the front desk, no answer. 10pm, no better. I called front desk, maintenance checked the room unit, then roof unit. The front desk called me, the unit was frozen solid. They offered to move me, I declined. There were ceiling fans in each room and i had the balcony door open. I was told by from desk that "in the future keep in mind that this is a time share facility so the units are considerably smaller." It may have been my fault, but you don't ever make the customer feel that way! Once the unit began to thaw water was dropping from the intake into the hallway floor. I tried to call the front deal and security at about 11:15 to inform them of this but got no answer at either one. Overall a nice stay just wonder if AC would be a problem in hottest summer months. The location was perfect for us. The one bedroom condo was very comfortable even when our two small grandchildren decided to spend the night. The kitchen was fully stocked with Fiesta ware and corning dishes. The location , right on the beach, was the heated pool was a plus with weather in the 70's. I would definitely recommend that the location of the front office be more well-marked: it took us 15 minutes to find it, and how to get to it!! The front office has a strong smell that is not pleasant. The people in the office, however, were very friendly and helpful--definitely valuable employees. There is a huge potential for some kind of restaurant, […] even if it's across the road. Our stay was short, so stocking up the kitchenette was not really our plan. This meant that a long drive into the crowded area of town was our only option at mealtimes. We would have much preferred to remain at the hotel. Since many beach houses are located near the hotel, I imagine a restaurant would draw non-hotel customers as well. One of the biggest draws of the hotel was beach access. We loved being able to get to the beach without crossing a busy road. This amenity made it feel much more like a trip to Florida. The grounds of the hotel were very nice--loved the volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard and horseshoe areas! The "activity room" was a cozy touch--I loved the idea of being able to borrow dvd's or board games. This is the first location in Galveston that truly has the potential for the "self-contained" experience, where getting in the car for something does not have to be mandatory. If the restaurant issue is solved, customers won't leave to spend their money in town. Add a cabana that sells soft drinks and margaritas, and it'll be a gold mine. Læs mere

Enjoyed the large balcony with the sliding doors. Left sliding doors open at night to hear the waves of the beach all night long. Loved that you can access to the beach. Water in pool wasn't as warmed as we hoped but enjoyed the jacuzzi. Great place to stay!!! Will be back!!!! :)

I was surprised at how spartan the accommodation felt in this hotel. Probably feels different in the height of the summer, but it felt a little austere in a Galveston march. Also, for a traveller arriving late evening the entrance was far from obvious, with no sign indicating the way in. I had to circle the building a couple of times before I came across […] the door. Hotel was superb! We stayed in 36E which is a deluxe king suite with queen sleeper sofa in the LR. Rooms were very spacious and clean. The Bathroom had 2 doors so there was access from both the bedroom and living room. The unit appears to have been upgraded recently. The view from this 3rd floor unit was amazing facing sunset as well as the pool. Staff […] was very courteous and friendly and helpful. Resort is right on the beach and access is very easy. Pool and hot tub looked nice and we saw several people using them, we just didnt have time to use as our 2 children are very young and couldnt go in them anyway. The only drawbacks were no onsite restaurant but the full kitchen was nice. Also the stairs were locked at the ground level. People could exit using the stairs but not enter. Some remodeling going on did not effect us, hotel was pretty nice. Their gift shop was not stocked. Staff for the most part was accomidating but a little cheap when it came to giving out popcorn during the movie that was playing in the rec room. Pool was warm, views were great.

First of it appears that this is a timeshare that us also using some of its rooms as a hotel. It is not a resort by any means and ther than having a Bach front anda pool, it has no other amenities that would qualify it as a resort. We were told that the room woud have a beach view bu I only had a partial few f the beach, the full beach view being reserved […] fr timeshare owners! The room was generally clean but we had to call housekeeping to disinfect the tub which had hairs at the bottom! I woud not stay at this place again, especially at the high rates that they charge. Great location - they are going through renovations at this time, so it was a bit dusty. Check out is 10am which is a little early in by book. Liked that the bedroom had no windows - was nice to sleep in!

I was not informed by either Hotel or Hotel.com at time of booking that the hotel was under major renovation. I arrived late at nite and the only person at front desk was upset that security guard had not shown up and they had called her in...after she finished with her calls..apprarently had had a fire alarm go off, I was finally given the keys but […] it did not leave a good feeling about the stay. Hotel name is actually Escapes. We drove around for an hour an a half looking for the hotel. The number listed on my reservation was a non-working number. The customer service number was automated. I had to finally chose an option to make a complaint to speak to a human. She was able to give me a correct phone number. I called the hotel and got directions, […] we had passed them up multiple times, due to the name being different from the original booking. I informed them of our difficulty locating the hotel and the incorrect information on hotels.com. When we arrived to the hotel early, before check in, they had a room available for us and also upgraded our room to a suite. The location was great, you could walk directly on the beach from the pool area. There was some construction but it didn't cause any problems. The room was clean and well stocked with towels,kitchen utensils, and even a washer-dryer.
