Godt og rart hotel. Ingen særlig luksus og lidt afsides beliggenhed. Til gengæld pænt og rent, god service, samt gratis wi-fi på hotellet. Tog fra lufthavnen går lige til døren - bogstaveligt talt. Meget fine sporvognsforbindelser til centrum, men absolut også overkommelig gåafstand.

Små (rene) værelser og begrænset morgenmad, men opvejes af super beliggenhed og god service!

Hotellet er af ældre dato, men er i fin stand med hyggelige mere moderne værelser. Værelserne er ikke de største, men der er hvad man har brug for. Personalet er rigtig søde og vil gerne hjælpe med både det ene og det andet. Hotellet ligger super centralt med sporvognen kørende lige ude på vejen (Dette kan høres når de bimler og bamler med klokken, men ikke noget der der irriterer, mere som en hyggelig lyd à la "nu kommer sporvognen igen".) Hotellet ligger super centralt, lige ved Union Square. I området ligger der mange små caféer, dinere, butikker osv og 300 meter nede af gaden ligger der en metro station (en Bart) hvor man kan tage toget til yderområderne. På samme sted er der et hav af busser som kører alle steder hen i byen. To af SF´s tre sporvogne har også endestation lige nede af gaden. Alt i alt et rigtig dejligt hotel. Vi var i SF et par dage inden vi rejste videre syd på. Hotellet var helt ideelt. Både pga at det var hyggeligt, med i høj grad også pga beliggenheden. Det var nemt at komme ud at spise, nemt at komme i butikker og shoppe og nemt at komme til både tog, busser og sporvogn. Helt klart et hotel vi vil anbefale og et vi gerne ville bo på igen hvis vi skulle tilbage til SF.

Søløver soler sig ved Pier 39's butikker på Fisherman's Wharf. I nærheden giver Ghirardelli Squares chokoladefabrik smagsprøver på det søde liv. Der afgår både til Alcatraz fra Pier 33. Fra Coit Tower på Telegraph Hill kan man se ned på byen og Golden Gate Bridge Litteraturen stortrives i den berømte City Lights-boghandel i North Beach. Washington Square Park udgør hjertet af denne historiske, italienske enklave.

Værelserne var udmærkede - men meget larm fra Lombard Street. God beliggenhed - gåsafstand til Fishermanns Wharff. Tæt til offentlig transportmidler. Gode restauranter i nærheden. Dette hotel ligger 15 min gang fra Det meste. Temmelig udslidte værelser med en vag service. Deres morgenmad er absolut ikke noget at tale om, men der er fri parkering og hotellet er billigt.

"Great hotel for the price close to everything!"
We stayed here 3 night while visiting San Francisco. We bought the open top bus ticket from the hotel and rode the bus all over. The bus stops right in front of the hotel. There are also other kinds of public transportation available very close. We walked back to the hotel from the wharf a couple times in the evening and felt very safe. It took us about […] 30 minutes to walk at a brisk pace. Breakfast is very minimal but it is a good start if you don't need a big breakfast. San was very helpful the day we checked in. He gave us a lot of info and helped us get our bus tickets. All of the staff was very friendly during our whole stay. We will stay here again when we visit San Francisco. Læs mere

The hotel is in a good location and the customer service there is great. They are so helpful in everything that you need. Rooms are clean and beds very comfy.

Clean non-smoking room although corridor is full of smoking smell. good location with free parking! Very weak internet signal (undependable). Breakfast is very very poor, just coffee, juice and some bakery.

"Fine for What you Pay"
Pretty good neighbourhood. Bus one block over that will take you to and from Fishermans wharf area. Bus to Golden gate bridge on Lombard about 3 blocks away. Most eating options are a 15min walk away. Free breakfast was OK but was pretty cosy as served on the small lobby area. Wifi in room was good. Staff on desk were helpful but seemed there was only […] one person running the whole place. "Buena Vista Motor Inn - prime location in San Fran"
The only negative of this hotel would be its rather dated appearance, it could do with a make over and some new furniture in the lobby area. The parking garage can be a little tight in places and some spaces aren't easy to park a large (american) car. Moving to the positives, this hotel is in an ideal location close to fishermans wharf, the tram line […] and the famous bendy hill road that descends Lombard. I would reccommend the walk however some of the streets are very steep so some may prefer to drive. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. "Buena Visita Convenient, Close to Everything."
This hotel is great for those who want to visit San Francisco in a convenient location, close to public transport and many wonderful restaurants. It is a 20 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf. The only downside is the continental breakfast which isn't very healthy.

Between the room recently being updated, FREE parking and helpful staff, this hotel is a real buy. Highly recommended.

"Buena Vista Motor Inn ~ San Francisco"
We asked for a quiet room away from the main street and got a quiet room in the back!!! It wasn't the nicest place I have ever stayed in but it was perfect for our needs and the price was good. It also offered covered off street parking which was a BIG plus but the spaces were very tight. Staff was very helpful as well and I would stay there again.

Hotel was located up the hill from Ghiradelli, good for walking and convenient for bus routes. Free Parking, undercover was a real bonus. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing. Continental meant, very little choice.

"Sufficient"
The room was decent. Only stayed one night but it was adequate for sleeping and a shower. Location is great. Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. With that in consideration, it's a good "bang for the buck" place to stay.

Great location to Marina district, wharf, and Union street shopping, Bus lines to everywhere in the city. Affordable when free parking is taken into consideration as an amenity. Cab fare to the wharf $10 with tip. I would stay there again.

Very nice hotel a short walk away from Lombard streets famous crooked road. Room was very clean, comfortable and roomy. Helpful desk service staff and use of the computer in the lobby is free for 15 mins. However breakfast is only apple, banana, drinks and pastries - no toast or cereal. Overall satisfactory and in a nice quiet neighbourhood. Even smokers […] probably wont be able to stand the stench of stale smoke so make sure to get a non smoking room if you want to avoid the smell. Læs mere
"Not great, not bad."
It's pretty run down and VERY basic. My room had a toilet, shower/tub, tv and bed - that's it. The place is not in good condition and even if there had been space in the parking lot I'm not sure I would have parked there - way too tight. But, it was cheap for the night and I slept fine. "Lombard Street, 1 block from busline"
Great location, view of the GGB, clean room, FREE parking, can't go wrong with this place. And, on top of all that, it is just off the busline, and tour buses stop right out front to hop on. We actually returned to this property at the end of our trip to Yosemite.
"GOOD OVERALL VALUE"
This is a perfect hotel if you are on a tight budget, it is not fancy, a little run down and the decor hasn't been updated since the 70s or 80s... Though the bathrooms were recently updated and were rather nice. I'm not trying to bash the place at all, we had a two room suite, plenty of room, it was a 15-20 minute walk from Fisherman's wharf. The price […] was good and the staff friendly and helpfull and the room was clean. The place is just badly in need of a facelift, but the room was clean. Our room was on the Lombard Ave side of the hotel and that is a very busy street and somewhat noisy even with the windows closed. Overall, if you want a reasonably priced hotel in a decent location and you don't care about how new and nice it is, this is the place for you. ok value for the price. room cards don't work well and require multiple tries to open the door. Parking lot is very tight and fills early. A decent clean bargain hotel if you are just looking for a place to crash for the night.

The rooms are rather spartan, but clean. Breakfast available in the lobby is good (Peet's coffee, tasty pastries). Rather a walk to sights Downtown, but plenty to see in the area. We got a good sense of San Francisco, using the Buena Vista as a base.

The Good: Room was large. The hotel has free parking. I could walk to the marina and fisherman's wharf. Hotel was full of tourists from Europe and Australia. The Bad: Room smelled like smoke even though the hotel was non-smoking. Community areas were crowded and tacky.

The desk clerk was friendly and gracious, parking was free in an enclosed/attached garage, the room was very clean, and the location was reasonably close to the Wharf. Continental breakfast was generous as well. The building and guest rooms are dated, and the bed was firm but certainly not plush. But we were pleasantly surprised and felt this qualified […] as an excellent two-star hotel. If you're just looking for a place to spend the night and are not planning to spend a great deal of leisure time inside the hotel room or on the hotel grounds, you will be pleased with this choice. "Close to the Wharf and VERY affordable!!"
We spent 3 nights while exploring the City. Staff was helpful with all our questions. Parking is tight but under roof and FREE so no complaints there! The breakfast consists of bananas, apples, coffee and tasty pastries - the food is located in the front lobby area so only about 6 people fit - but it is OK to take your food to your room for eating. […] The motel is close to Hop On-Hop Off and other bus stops. A cab from the wharf to the motel only runs $6 - $8 depending on which cab service you use. The famous crooked street is only about 6 blocks away. All in all we were extremely satisfied with the location and service and would recommend to any one wanting a very reasonably price room with great location! Læs mere
