Affinia Shelbourne is a good city hotel, incl rooftop bar and a good restaurant. The hotel is clean and the rooms are great. The service is very good. The hotel lies in convenient walking distance from all major interests in NY. We had a very good stay at the hotel, and can only recommend it to others. Thanks

Et godt hotel til rimelig pris - ingen overflødig luksus, lige tilpas når man er kommet for først og fremmest at se byen, men også gerne vil vende "hjem" til et rent og pænt hotel.

Hotellet lå ganske fint placeret, som udgangspunkt for ture på Manhattan. Både hvis man kan lide at gå ture, og ellers er der Subway få hundrede meter væk. Lidt gadestøj om natten, men det er vel at forvente midt i NY. Synes ikke selv om nattestøj, men jeg mener det var klart acceptabelt, og vi havde vindue til vejen. Hotellet var pænt i fælles arealerne. […] Værelset var ikke over-luksus, men ganske pænt og tilfredsstillende. Badeværelset var også godt og rent. Der er en tagterasse på hotellet, som er meget hyggelig, selvom der var lidt rodet da vi var der, men det var heller ikke helt udendørssæson endnu, så havemøblerne var ikke helt på plads. Fik dog en hyggelig frokost sandwich med udsigt til bl.a. Empire State Building og Chrysler bygningen. Restauranten prøvede vi ikke (vi var meget rundt på tur), men den så god og velbesøgt ud. Den skulle efter sigende have deres speciale i burgers. Personalet var virkeligt hjælpsomme og søde, uden at være for påtrængende. Oplevelsen var helt sikkert til over vores forventninger, når jeg tænker på, hvad vi har set i andre storbyer. Specielt pris/kvalitet taget i betragtning. Rigtig pænt og lækkert hotel - alle de ansatte var rigtig venlige og hjælpesomme med transport og restaurant reservation. kan helt klart anbefales - det ligger i tilpas gå afstand til Grand Central og Times Sq., men samtidig ligger det tilpas langt væk til at der er rimeligt stille når man skal sove eller vil slappe lidt af.

Hotellet ligger i gå-afstand til mange seværdigheder - tæt på metrostation Central Park. Hotellet har en god (men mørk) restaurant med gode burgere samt en tagterasse med udsigt til Empire State Building samt Chrysler building..

I went to New York with my sister in mid august and stayed six nights at the Shelburne Murray Hill near Grand Central Station. When we arrived we were told that the room we had booked was not available. However the friendly staff swiftly offered us an upgrade to a deluxe suite with a kingsize bed instead two seperate beds. The room was located on the […] fifteenth floor with a great view of the skyline and the East River and plenty of space. The living room was huge. The kitchen had a minibar oven and fridge freezer and both the living room and the bedroom were equipped with flatscreen tv. The airconditioned suite was very tastefully decorated in a modern style and was clean throughout. Also the staff were extremely friendly during our entire stay. The main attraction of this hotel however is the huge rooftop terrace on the sixteenth floor which guest are free to use anytime. Until midnight there is also a bar which is open to the general public. From the rooftop you can enjoy panoramic views of the skyline including nearby Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. Absolutely stunning. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to first time visitors as well as seasoned travellers who are looking for a nice mid sized Manhattan hotel in a great location. Hotellet er nyrenoveret. Værelserne var en pæn størrelse med to store dobbeltsenge og udsigt til Empire State Building. Det ligger på 37th Street og Lexington Avenue kun 10 minutters gang fra Grand Central Station (herunder subwaystation). Hotellet har en super hyggelig tagbar med fantastisk udsigt over New Yorks fascinerende skyline. Vi havde fået […] 40 % rabat på prisen, men hotellet er også den fulde pris værd! Godt og meget rent og pænt hotel med store gode rum.

Vi (2 voksne og 3 store teenagere) boede i juli mdr. 4 nætter på Affinia Shelburne. Meget centralt rabat ved bestilling på 4 nætter fin fitness dejlig morgenmad i restaurant (betal selv) fint service- samt rengøringsnivea

Virkelig godt hotel med god beliggenhed

Perfekt beliggenhed i gå afstand fra Time square, hotellet er flot og nyt. Vores værelse var stort og med egen terrasse på 15. sal. Vil helt sikkert bo der næste gang jeg er i NY. Kan kun anbefales!

Udmærket middelklasse hotel med fin beliggenhed centralt på Manhattan med alt indenfor gåafstand. Recptionen var bemandet med servicemindet personale,mens vi oplevede et enkelt tilfælde af dårlig service hos den tilstedeværende concierge. Kan varmt anbefales. Vi boede på Affinia Shelburne i 8 dage og havde et super værelse. Stort, komfortabelt og stille! Et dejligt og centralt område ved Lexington Avenue og 37th. Street - 5 min. fra Grand Central Station og metro.

Hadn't ever heard of the Affinia hotels before, but it was a great place to stay near Grand Central. The room was very large by New York standards, with a refrigerator and sink and updated bathroom with great shower. I'd definitely go back.

Stayed at Affinia Shelburne for 5 nights -good location, walking distance to Empire State Building, Grand Union Station and Macy's - took subway and cabs to other locations. Arrived at hotel just after 6pm and our two rooms were not ready (check in was 4pm). Had to eat in hotel bar whilst we waited over two hours for one of our rooms to become available. […] However apart from this "blip", all other aspects of the hotel were fine, although some paint peeling off in bathroom, scuff marks on walls etc, however this is a busy New York hotel, so this is to be expected. Good breakfasts in Rare bar and Grill and Amy (Concierge) went above and beyond in making reserversations for dinner, etc. All staff really helpful and friendly and the area was very safe - we would stay again. Very nice little hotel. The location is great. The facilities are awesome. The staff is friendly. The only issue I have is, the heating and cooling in the room. Not sure if this is a NY thing, but the room is too hot. The vent had a sign that said, when the outside temperature is above 65 degrees, the vent will blow cold air. Else hot air. While the Shelburne was fairly nice, I expected more for a "boutique" hotel. To start with the positives, the hotel lobby looks very nice and the staff is very helpful. The rooms have been updated, so there is nice furniture in there. The neighborhood is in a great spot, little quieter which is nice, but still walking distance to times square, and short […] taxi ride to the village, uptown, etc. The cons however were that one, they don't have central air and heat, that is to say, not air and heat that you can properly control from your room. There are Thermostats in the room, but the entire hotel has 3 modes, heat, cool, or neutral. So if your room is a little warm but the hotel is on heat or neutral mode, that thermostat is useless. Same deal the other way around. Kind of tough because with all the rooms in different places, some rooms could have different temps than others. So that was a little annoying. Secondly the rooms are fairly small and the bathroom was tiny. Most of the views out the windows are looking at other rooms, not anything else. To finish it off with a positive, the connected restaurant is Rare, which is a nice bar. I think overall if you get a good deal on this place, it's a fine place to stay, but I personally don't think i'd stay there again unless it's $150 or under, just because I think there are other possibly better choices in the same area. This hotel is located in Murray Hill just far away enough from the craziness of midtown, but close enough to the subway. Plenty of great bars and restaurants a block away on 3rd. I arrived 4 hours before Check In and was able to get a room early without any problem. After checking out they held my bags at no extra charge for a few hours which was a […] huge convenience. Close to Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, and a lot of great food!

This hotel is a comfortable stay that is very close to Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, and Madison Ave. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Affinia Shelburne is a great hotel for your money. Greatl location, spacious, friendly staff and extremely clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at the Affinia Chicago and loved it, and my experience now has been wonderfully consistent with this boutique chain. The staff here is very polite, helpful, and accommodating. Our room was on the 4th floor, and I appreciated how spacious the room was given my expectation of the standard hotel room size in New York. The bed was very inviting, […] but luckily my eagerness to wander around the city kicked in. They have a variety of pillow options ranging from hypo-allergenic to memory foam. The bed was very comfortable and I love the scents of the Philosophy toiletries set that they provide. My only complaint was the need for softer towels. There is only free wi-fi in the lobby where you'll have to bring your device down - otherwise if you want wi-fi in the comfort of your own room there is a $13.95 fee. There are a few computers down in the lobby as well, but the only printing that can be done is for airline boarding passes. You can make your own LaVazza coffee in your room. We got a great deal on our room as well. I'm thinking about coming back here the next time I come to NY for a visit. Læs mere

Close to resturants, subway, lots to do. Nice hotel for the money. Clean, safe and comfortable. Rooms are small in NYC and this is no exception, but was nicely appointed.

nice hotel, bit expensive for quality, could hear everything and anything going on in hotel, woke us up a lot (must have been a sing contest in town or something...) nice enough but wouldn't stay again...

Loved the location, the rooms were well appointed and very clean. The staff could not have been better.

Located in midtown, this hotel is located on Lexington, so it's not quite as busy as Park Ave which is nice. Very easy to travel to other parts of town via subway or taxi and because it's in midtown part of manhattan, it's usually a short trip no matter which direction you're going. Hotel staff is friendly and the rooms are a nice size at a reasonable […] rate. I also just stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and for my $$$, I'd pick the Affinia Shelburne as it's better and cheaper, rare combination. Læs mere

We spent 8 nights at the Affiinia Shelburne and we were extremely happy. The room was more spacious than expected in NYC and the cleaning and general housekeeping was of a high standard. The location is also fantastic, easy walking distance to the Theatre district, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Grand Central Station, Empire State Building. My family and i are just back from the affinia shelburne after spending 6 nights there. We booked a suite and it was well worth it as it was huge on new york standards. There was a separate living room with a king size sofa bed which was comfortable. The bedroom had a huge bed which we got lost in every night. The neighbourhood was lovely near nice […] bars and eaterys especially nice was Scottys 24hr diner where the food and service was great.
