Stay: Dec 2011. My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to stumble upon the Posada after we discovered red ants in our original hotel! We talked to the lovely Gisel at the front desk and got an excellent rate for the Palapa mini-Suite and this hotel saved out holiday! The Palapa suite was very romantic and VERY clean! and being that this room is on […] the roof of the hotel, it is very private also. The rooftop terrace is such a lovely place to enjoy a drink before going out or to bask in the morning sun. The location of this hotel is perfect. I have been to Playa 5 times and stayed at 5 different hotels and I have to say that I love the location of this Hotel. Its in the less busy part of 5th avenue, yet it is closest to all the best restaurants and lounges and also the better Beach Clubs. My only complaint was the mattress. It was a combination of a rock hard mattress and very hard, rough, starchy sheets. I understand that beds in Mexico are known to be hard but of the 5 hotels that I have stayed in Playa, this was by far the most uncomfortable I have slept in. It is unfortunate as it would definitely affect the length of any future stays for me. I could only tolerate 3 or 4 nights on this bed and I would be desperate for sleep. The bed issue is too bad because this is truly a nice little boutique Hotel is you are looking for a home base while visiting Palya. I will recommend this hotel because of its Mexican beauty, cleanliness and great staff however I will have to mention the bed issue with my recommendation. We stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel was very clean, and sheets were changed daily. The staff are freindly and helpful. We loved the location, as it is on 5th st, but was still a quiet hotel. Small and charming would probably best describe it. The lobby has an abundance of greenery and is very welcoming.The only drawback is there is not elevator to […] the second and third floors. Really enjoyed the hotel and location. Beach club was very convenient and liked the breakfast across the street. If you cannot take noise bring some earplugs as 5th ave is busy but that is part of the fun.

Great location. Friendly staff. The room was basic but clean. The bed was hard, though. There was a fridge in the room, so it was nice having cold drinks when it was so hot outside.

The hotel is located right on 5th Avenue and is walking distance to Mamitas beach and great restaurants. If you are on a budget and want a nice hotel in Playa, this would be great. Make sure you request a room on the 2nd floor or above and away from the street.

First,NO WIFI internet in the room even the hotel said COMPLIMENTARY or FREE WIFI . I complaint and responsed was only at the lobby!! Second,May be the Ground Floor room,it's not clean and found the dead body of cockroach inside the AC!! Third,the flushing is not good!! Finally,it's a pretty lobby and quiet location. P.S.During my complaint of Wifi's […] problem,the staff of front desk could not handeling the problem,even I'd shown the information of my booking,he always went into the room to ask his duty's manager in many times. I'm very appreciated for his trying to solve my problem,but WHERE is the duty's manager,he/she didn't come to solve the problem!!!!Also,when I've found the dead cockroach after changing the room. May be the time at about 1830,only one staff at the hotel for doing reception thing/cleaning the room!!!The manager is hiding in the room!!!!!????? This hotel is nice, cozy and stylish. Its small but at the same time more than enough space for privacy and silence. I loved staying here, everything was right around the corner and even though we had to walk 5-6 minutes to get to the beach it was no problem. Lots of great places to eat, shops and bars, but at the same time not too noisy, We went out […] partying a few times during the stay, it takes about 5-6 minutes a walk to get to the main "party-street". The staff at Mariposa was extraordinary helpfull and nice. The rooms were perfekt, simple, clean and no smell or noisy aircondition. I would recommend it any time. Læs mere

My friends and I had a great experience at this hotel. We come from NYC so we were pleasantly surprised to find the location reminded us of the East Village. We all either live or work around the East Village. Everything that represents the ease of Playa Del Carmen was at our fingertips as soon as we walked outside of the hotel. It was like NYC but […] with the beach literally two blocks away. All the shops and restaurants are located on the same avenue of the hotel (5th Ave, Avenida Quinta). The hotel staff was very nice and filled all the requests we had except the hotel only has ONE iron, which sucks if another room has taken it already. That is only a very small complaint please do not let it dissuade you from enjoying the Hotel Posada Mariposa. If I ever return to Playa Del Carmen I will stay only at this hotel. Læs mere

Cute little hotel, right on 5th Ave, in the quieter northern neighborhhod, 2 blocks to the beach. Gorgeous lobby with an open roof and lots of foliage, the fromt desk was helpful and polite. We rented the roof top palapa room which I have to say was a little dissapointing. It is very small, just enough roof for the bed and TV and there was only 1 outlet […] in the room. I know we are supposed to be on vacation but I need more than 1 outlet to charge our phones, camera batteries and unfortunately my laptop. Tha patio had so much potential. There's not much the owners can do about the view; a larger unattractive needed to be painted building across the street so we'll leave that just be aware. Old dirty white resin chairs and dirty and torn chaise cushions did not lend itself to the romantic visions we had in our head. Reposition the potted plants to block the view, repace the resin chairs with a nice iron set and a cozy outdoor lounge bed with some candles and this place wiuld be great Læs mere

I read the reviews about the beds being hard and thought that everyone was just being a baby but OH MY GOD!!, my limbs would go numb if I tried to sleep on my side. We brought our sleeping bags and tried to make it a little softer but no luck. The plus to that is that it is very easy to get a good tan at the beach if you keep falling asleep from being […] so tired. The location is perfect. Couldn't ask for anything better. We took the bus down from Cancun. The bus station is only a few blocks. The resturants and shops are all right there. The biggest plus to this hotel is the relationship that they have with momitas beach club. It is a short walk, the canopies and beds are awesome. The music isn't blaringly loud, they have a pool, and waiter service. Plus all the beaches are topless which made my husband happy. It is smaller then some of the other big clubs which for us was great. Our stay in Playa was so enjoyable that my husband and I want to move there (we will bring our own beds). Always remember that this is Mexico, not America. Things are different. Enjoy it for what it is and you will have a great time. Be friendly and everyone is friendly right back. No hubo alguien que nos ayudara a subir las maletas, lo tuvimos qué hacer nosotros mismos, y la clave de internét no está disponible, por lo que tuve qué hacer uso del internet de mi teléfono.

Vi hade en fantastisk vecka här. Kan verkligen rekomendera detta hotell och personalen var verkligen hjälpsamma och vänliga.

Muy buena la posada, todos muy atentos fuimos con nuestro bebe y nos dieron todas las comodidades para nuestra estancia con ella. El único cambio es q loa colchones son un poco duros, aunque nuevos.

nous avons reservée 3 nuits mais l hotel etait complet du coup ils nous ont fait passer la premiere nuit dans l hotel coco rio a 50 metres dans une rue un peu plus calme a préferer les chambres etaient plus saines et moins cheres . Ils nous ont offert les petits dej pour cette erreur. Le lendemain une chambre s'etait liberée , on s'est retrouvée au […] rez de chaussé la chambre donnée sur la cour interieure où se trouve la reception et l 'accés internet ( et pas dans les chambres comme le descriptif l indique ) donc vous imaginez le bruit ! Les recomiendo mejorar el servicio de limpieza y fumigación en el hotel.

Enkelt og greit hotell med god beliggenhet , midt i gågata . 5 minutt å gå til strand .

Rien à dire, tout était parfait. Un superbe endroit bien placé (5e avenue à 2 pas) et calme.

Vi fikk veldig god service under hele oppholdet, god beliggenhet og veldig hyggelig samarbeid med frokostrestauranten La Vagabunda. Området var passe rolig og sentralt, nær stranden og ikke midt i den verste turistmyldringen lenger ned i Q Av.. Vi bor gjerne her ved neste besøk til Playa del Carmen. Dog ville den ene beboeren av oss gjerne hatt airconditionanlegg […] også på soverommet for å få det kjølet ned til sengetid. Likevel fungerte dette bra, totalt sett :-) Kan trygt anbefales!! creo que lo unico que le falta es que tengan un microondas aunque sea en el lobby para recalentar la comida, porque hasta refrigerador tiene.. TODO EXCELENTE

Buena ubicacion del hotel era muy buena sobre el centro y a cuadras de la playa. El precio del hotel era acorde.

Playa del Carmen é um "must" para quem vai para a Riviera Maya e a Pousada Mariposa é uma boa alternativa de hospedagem. Muito aconchegante e agradável; e apesar de estar localizada na rua de maior movimento de Playa del Carmen, é muito tranquila. Pessoal do hotel muito atencioso.

Im ganzen Aufenthalt sind mir 2 negativen Dinge aufgefallen: -Betten sind hart -im Hotelzimmer ist es sehr hellhörig (z.B. hört man, wenn man sich draussen unterhält & das Zuknallen aller Hoteltüren) Ansonsten ist es ein schön eingerichtetes Hotel mit Dschungelfeeling. Das Frühstück wird gegenüber vom Hotel serviert und ist sehr schmackhaft. Gute Restaurants, […] Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten, Fitnesscenter und sonstige Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind sofort um die Ecke. Für alle Strandgänger ist der öffentliche Strand auch nur wenige Blocks entfernt. Für eine Beschäftigung am Abend sind an der 5 Avenue genügend Bars und Discotheken. Læs mere

Hotellet var jätte färsch t och mysigt, nära stranden och man fick handdukar att låna till stranden, personalen var trevlig och hjälpsam och allt var rent och snyggt, precis på aveny 5 där allting finns, bara att gå ut och hitta en resturang, :)

Bon accueil, très propre et bien situé;nous avons beaucoup aimé et y sommes retournés pour finir notre séjour après quelques jours à Valladolid. Le personnel est agréable et fait son possible pour le bon déroulement du séjour.
