Rigtig godt hotel tæt på centrum. Fin swimmingpool, fitness-rum og andre faciliteter, fx gratis trådløst netværk i foyeren. Kun småting at bemærke: Vi fik den sidste morgenmad konverteret til en madpakke, da vi skulle rejse tidligt - den viste sig imidlertid at bestå af kager, hvilket vist skyldtes sjusk.

Pænt, nydeligt og komfortabelt hotel med venlig og imødekommende betjening. Vi fik breakfast pack sidste morgen, da vi skulle tidligt afsted. Ellers god morgenmads buffet med både contineltalt og varm engelsk/skotsk morgenmad. Lækker pool-afdeling, hvor der næsten ikke var andre gæster. Fint børnevenligt hotel for to piger på 6 og 7 år, husk dog lidt […] legetøj selv. Gratis wifi i lobbyen. Fredag eftermiddag tjekkede større festselskab ind, som skulle i byen, men overhovedet ingen natteuro, dejligt. Vi fløj forøvrigt og meget billigt med Ryanair fra Billund, hvilket også kan anbefales. Novotel Edinburgh Centre er rigtig godt til familier med større børn. Hotellet har dejligt poolområde i kælderen. Familieværelse med stor dobbeltseng samt sovesofa. Stort udvalg af børnemenuer i hotellets restaurant. Alle er venlige og hjælpsomme i receptionen, som også er behjælpelig med div. bookinger.

Venlig og serviceminded betjening i reception og morgenmadsrestauant. Meget pænt, rent og stort værelse. Ligger væk fra larm af storby, men ikke længere væk end man nemt kan gå til slottet, bymidte og shopping.

Dejligt hotel til ok pris med kort til centrum. Mindre swimming pool i kælderen - en fordel når det har regnet hele dagen!

I have stayed here several times recently and its always consistently good. Clean rooms, nice staff and the in-house restaurant is also good.

We had a wonderful stay here. Traveling with our grandchildren and their parents, this was all we needed for our short visit to Edinburgh.

A great location for city break just around the corner from the grassmarket area. As always the Novotel delivers a very good standard so this was our second stay here, this time with 3 young teenagers/Adults who wanted to explore the edinburgh area fully. From the minute we checked in the staff went out of there way to be helpful, polite and to go the extra mile. I know this is what we all expect but here we actually got it. A very nice place for a couple of days stay, great little gym, swimming pool and steam and sauna rooms, a great plce to unwind after a hard day walking around the city.

Stayed in this convenient nice hotel, room and service great, Bewre bar prices, paid £12 for two small glasses of wine and breakfast a rip off. We ate next door in the premier in for half the price and twice the amount.

This is a nice, modern hotel in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room spacious & comfortable. The breakfasts were lovely - good quality produce used. Two negatives:- The pool is quite small (no big deal) and car parking is an issue - if you can get a space (which I couldn't) it is expensive - £15 per exit. They offered a 10% […] discount on a nearby car park which turned out to cost £28 per day!! I ended up parking on the street - not ideal. Læs mere

We booked a family room (2 adults, 2 children) at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre. It was a good location and ticked all the boxes such as pool, gym, restaurant and bar. However the hotel seems to have crammed all this in at the expense of any proper space. The family rooms are just ordinary small double rooms which adds a sofa bed for the children (I […] have had much bigger single rooms on business). When the sofa bed is extended there is no space in the room whatsoever. The 'cupboard' space (there is no actual cupboard) allows for a coat rail and a tiny set of three shelves nowhere near enough for a family's stuff. My kids are primary school age and I was left wondering how on earth a younger family with buggies etc would cope - if you can afford it book two rooms with an interlocking door or an executive room. I asked at reception if we had the right room and was shown another room of similar size. If I wanted more space, there are executive rooms at more cost. We did not have breakfast as part of our deal and the excessive cost per adult (kids free with an adult) made us get up and out early to use a restaurant in the city. This turned out to our advantage as we made better use of our time and saved money. If I was coming to Edinburgh as a weekend away with my wife I would consider using this hotel again, but returning as a family there is no way I would use the Novotel. Læs mere

We stayed for a 3 night long leisure weekend. Bright modern hotel, a little away from the most central part of Edinburgh, but still close enough to walk to the main points of interest. Room clean. Service efficient. An irritation was the lack of wardrobe and drawer space. clean and efficient, but, even for a modern chain hotel, a bit lacking in soul. […] But, for 1 or 2 nights, I'd have no problem staying again. Hotel was fine. However, I was looking forward to the steam and sauna experience which was a bit of a disppointment. The changing area is only large enough for one person in front of about 20 lockers. There was no privacy in the changing or shower area in the womens changing room. Fantastic hotel , very helpful and polite staff will defiantly stay again .

Really great. Only problem was the odd layout of the room. Staff were extremely accomodating and allowed us to check in at 9 in the morning and a free late checkout til 5 pm even though they were very busy as it was a match weekend.

The hotel is comfortable and clean. However, didn't find it child friendly. Went with two kids under ( 1 & 3). Most rooms have no wardrobes or drawers, once cotbed and sofabed is put out no room space at all. Heating didn't work and sink blocked. Probably ok if you don't have kids with you but these essentials should be working when you're staying with […] small kids. Læs mere

A good hotel with all the necessary facilities and close to main sights. Only negative was the restaurant. This was undergoing some refurbishment which resulted in poor meals during our stay. Service generally helpful and pleasant.

Staff we dealt with very friendly and helpful, certainly could not fault quality of the staff. Superior family room quite small and rooms very hot even after turning down the thermostat, had to have window open at all times, which made the noise of traffic a problem at night when trying to sleep. Location of hotel for central edinburgh not bad, we walked […] back and forth quite easily with a 12 year old. Swimming pool a bonus especially if you have children. Hotel decor not too bad but could do with a freshen up. Worst point about the hotel is the parking, only 15 spaces and quite expensive - have to pay every time you leave the car park, if you don't get a hotel parking space, will find parking for any length of time a problem if you don't use the NCP car park again very expensive. Good location, friendly helpfull staff. 12 noon checkout and late breakfast til 12 made for a relaxing weekend and the opportunity for one more swim in the warm pool and a steam room treat before heading home. All round a nice stay in a great city.

Have stayed here before; a recommendation in itself. Only problem this time was that we were given one of the rooms designated for disabled guests. This has happened before when we have only stayed for one night at other Novotels. This meant there was no stand up shower available so check this out if your preference is for a shower rather than a ba […] th. Læs mere

I've stayed at various Novotels and the quality of environment and service is always consistent with their aspirations, unlike many other chains I could mention SheratonHilton. The Edinburgh Novotel provided everything we needed from a hotel when staying away with young kids (5 & 2). Games/toys for them, a nice pool, play area, decent bedroom, fridge […] in the room which we can use for milk etc. without being maced with charges. The staff were all excellent and the food was pretty good, although not as nice as in the Heathrow Novotel. The rack rate is a bit unrealistic but booking through Hotels.com it was almost as cheap as a Travelodge etc. At that price I don't mind spending money in the bar/restaurant etc. Læs mere

Great hotel just north of the city centre, great pool and steam room.

Novotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the centre but in walking distance to shops and castle. We had a very pleasant stay and made use of the pool facilities. Very clean and well organised hotel. Area was quiet and noise was minimal. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great weekend break with 2 young children ( aged 1 and 5). We checked in at 11am on Sat and checked out at 5pm on Sunday - fantastic! Staff very helpful and friendly, good breakfast, pool bit small but fun and we visited 3 times! Only negative points were - Swim changing room tiny - suggest getting changed in own room. Location is quite good. You can walk to all the main attractions. Breakfast was very good! We had a very early departure at 5 am for the airport. A very nice person at the reseption went out of his way to fix us a breakfast to go! That is the kind of servise you don't receive very often. Ten points for that! Otherwise service was ok. In the restaurants […] a little unproffessional at times, but people were trying their best. For dinner after 6 pm. it was difficult to find restaurants that would accept kids. So we ended up eating at the hotel more than we wanted to. The food at the hotel was ok, though. Læs mere

Great, clean, friendly hotel. Room was far too hot, (window open / window closed / AC on / AC off), but no matter. I'd stay again in an instant.

This hotel is close to the city centre, convenient and has great service. It is in good condition.

Not a child friendly hotel at all.

Great location to many sites in Edinburgh. Overall hotel was nice, but hand-faucet leaked on floor and some of the restaurant staff seemed a little over=worked and were a bit grumpy. But the front desk were very helpful whenever we turned to them.

Very convenient for old town ( castle, grassmarket, museum of Scotland etc ). Buses to the rest of Edinburgh close by. Service great, but restaurant, though good, a bit slow. Breakfast buffet good. Nice to have a pool for the odd rainy day

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They were also very knowledgeable about Edinburgh and help with directions, sightseeing tours, etc. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great hotel just half a mile south of Princes' Street its clean and has good facilites.

Quite impresssed with this hotel as it was definately a cut above the average hotel. The leisure centre was one of our main reasons for booking this hotel and the kids absoltely loved it. The lacation of the hotel was in a nice clean area but a little too far to walk into town with two small kids so found ourselves using the public bus quite a lot (stoped […] just up from the hotel). Our family room sleeping 4 was a little small and very little space but well kept and bed was actually very comfortable! Overall very happy with our first stay in this hotel and in Edinburgh.
