Bayside Hotel - Santa Monica

Hotellet ligger dejlig tæt ved strand og i ok gå afstand til centrum. Ved indtjekning var receptionisten ikke særlig imødekommende, men det var de andre personer næste dag. Værelset var mørkt og badeværelset meget slidt og trist. Det koster 15 $ pr. Døgn at parkere, og der er ikke garanteret plads. Det kan bedre betale sig, at parkere med parkometer […] lige udenfor, her er det gratis at parkere om natten. Ulempe herved, er at bilen skal flyttes inden kl. 7 om morgenen, da gaden skal vaskes. Dog kun til modsatte side. Tror ikke vi vil bruge hotellet igen, det var for trist. Husk at tax i Santa Monica er højere end i f.eks. I Las Vegas, så ved større indkøb så vent med at shoppe. Super flot beliggenhed. Værelset var meget slidt,men et super sted hvis man bare skal sove der.

Det er rent og pænt og beliggenheden er god. Vælg et værelse med balkon og udsigt til havet. Der er gjort meget ud af at skabe en hyggelig stemning omkring hotellet. Vi ville helt klart bo der igen.

Perfect location, little bit overpriced but that's expected located next to the beach.

The hotel management goes out of their way to accomodate. They have great suggestions for local restaurants as well.This little motel is in between the Santa Monica pier and Venice Beach. We stay here everytime we are in the area

the hotel was surprisingly clean and comfortable. the room was well updated, the only thing is that although the bathroom was clean it was dated. the service was fantastic though, the morning manager was so helpful and super nice. the hotel is also located right along the beach. perfect view. another awesome perk was that they provided a beach bag with […] 2 beach towels. it was these little things that made the stay really pleasant. would definitely stay here again. Upstairs Guest was so noisy in midnight. Front cleark was so kindness,but cost perfromance was not so high.

I LOVE This little hotel and will stay there again. The parking lot is the only negative. very tight and difficult to get in and out of. other than that, I highly recommend!

Huge king size bed, but didn't realise when I booked that there wasn't a sofa bed and that our daughter was expected to sleep in it with us. Staff were very helpful and brought in a fold-out for a small extra charge that they ended up not charging us for anyway. Nice decor, great location and price. Wow! Rates at this hotel were much lower than the vast majority in this area, so I was skeptical ...until I arrived. I got an ocean view room on the top floor. It felt much more like a studio apartment than a hotel. My room had a kitchenette with a stove, fridge, and cabinet stocked with dishes and the like. I was able to get groceries and cook here […] instead of going to restraurants all the time! Huge plus. It is centrally located, within walking distance to all the downtown Santa Monica attractions and the beach is righ across the street. You can tell they put some effort into updating it, because the building itself is definitely older. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The tub is even a very good size. They offer parking for a (very reasonable) additional charge. Free WiFi in the room. Who can live without that these days? The room had a flat-screen TV with standard cable channels, and an iPod dock/alarm clock. They even stock some beverages in the mini fridge and have snacks in the room (extra charge). Only one flaw: it took a really, really, really long time to get hot water up to the room. I had to let it run for awhile, but it did heat up nicely. My husband and I recently stayed at the Bayside Hotel for 4N and we were very happy with our stay. We've previously spent some nights at Casa Del Mar and while that was a good experience, this was a lot more economical and practical with a kitchenette. The staff at the hotel was very attentive and helpful. They assisted with luggage and provided an early check-in. The room was clean and neat. The hotel is close to the beach and has nice views. I have stayed there a few times. Sometimes it is good and others a little dicey. This past time the room was small, tv broken (fuzzy), adjoining door connected to a room with about 10 workers pulling down walls and doing interior construction. My front door had been previously broken and they patched the lock back together. No heater although it was […] a very chilly evening. All together it was a big disapppointment. I also felt very uncomfortable with groups of men going in and out of the rooms on the hallway. This hotel is more or less what was expected. I chose it because of the location and was not disappointed, and seeing that it was surrounded by much finer hotels it is a prime location. Bed was very hard but pillows and comforter soft. Room very clean. Would have been very happy with a small microwave, but sadly did not have one. But mostly unhappy […] with the hotel at how loud it was. The upstairs guests came in very late at night and were extremely noisey. This older hotel could not handle that many people and I was awakened to loud talking and movement. Overall it was fine. The rooms get stuffy due to no air conditioning and poor ventilation. The bathrooms are a little tired. It is noisy.

Location is great. they have parking it is $12.00 per night/day that is a ood deal because parking is terrible in Santa Monica. Price seems high untill you look at the surrounding hotels.

Clean and very close of the beach

cute room, nice location across the street from the beach. get the parking! enjoyed walking to cafe every morning for coffee, people watching, proximity to pier and promenade, yet pretty quiet. not super luxurious, but very relaxing

We were assured a second floor room when we made our reservation. When we checked in we were given a hovel of a room. While they were unable to move us to the second floor we were given the best room on the ground floor (109). Then staff was lovely. This is within a couple of blocks of some of the most expensive luxury hotels but at half the price. Walk to everything in Santa Monica, Venice, etc. Steps from the beach. Basic, not upscale, but with all the necessities and comfortable. Aging condition is visible but no problems. All staff I encountered were very nice and helpful. Rooms were fine, very clean, and the help was great. Best of all, the view of the ocean and the location of hotel to EVERYthing in the area was superb!

If you're going to Santa Monica, you can hardly get a better deal for a hotel on the beach, just a few blocks from the Santa Monica Pier. The surfers were getting into their wetsuits outside the hotel, it was that close to the beach. Hotel is an older one, not great standard. But clean and great location.

The cleaning staff woke me up every morning talking loudly outside my door. My room was situated next to the linen closet room 111. The bathrooms were really old and dirty. I was quite please, though, with the location, the cleanliness ofnthe room, and the bedding. I love that there was wifi albeit slow. We chose the Bayside Hotel because it was close to a neighboring hotel where we were attending a wedding and about half the price. It's still a little on the pricy side for what you get, but it is Santa Monica. I found the hotel very pleasant and comfortable. Clean and comfortable, though not fancy or updated. Reasonably priced, great location and they are dog-friendly. Only hotel I could find in Santa Monica that allowed a dog the size of our labrador retriever.

Excellent location,extremely friendly and helpful staff the only thing bad is tha they do not have a restaurant or eating facilities on site. However they are all within walking distance from the hotel. I would definetely stay there on my next visit

It has such a great vibe - clean and nice, many rooms have kitchens. I love the patio and the proximity to everything in Santa Monica. A bit noisy but I definitely recommend.

I am very satisfied with my stay here. Everything was perfect: from early check in to cleanliness to friendliness to in room conveniences like snacks and drinks. Loved it and will stay again!

We unfortunately did not get the rooms with kitchen that we had booked/paid for. Apparently a misunderstanding at the front desk ??? we felt a bit crowded in the double rooms (3 adults) Another rooms was offered by the manager the next day , only it had a garden view, we decided not to waste our time with the move. This hotel was very sweet. The bed was excellent, room clean, and free parking in a beach lot just in front of the hotel. The only thing that could have been better is that the bathroom fan made a loud vibration, and bathroom could have been updated. There was not place to put soap in the shower. I stayed at the Bayside Hotel on two different occasions over the Christmas holiday period. They offer 24hr reception which was very convenient as we arrived late at night and had to check out very early also. Great location: its a short walk to Santa Monica Pier and shops and restaurants. Worst hotel stay I have ever had. No parking avalible at all at or close to the hotel. room was stuff heater would not turn off. Lights worked but no outlets from 8 am and when I checked out they came on at 11 am. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL WARNING!!!!!

Clean and comfortable for the budget traveller... perfect location for cycling, walking , shopping and sightseeing. Will definitely recommend and stay again!

We love this hotel. Walk to 3rd street promendade and the pier easily. A nice hike to venice. Beautiful ocean view in a safe neighborhood

The sunset view from this hotel is breathtaking. The actual room itself was comfortable enough, but not stellar. Unfortunately in my room, the mirror in the bathroom was not located directly over the sink, so shaving was a challenge. Also the water in the shower and the sink did NOT get hot enough for me for my showering and face washing. It was lukewarm […] water, which is very irritating. I mentioned this misfortune to the front desk upon check out. The actual bed was very comfortable however the furnishings in the room were cheap and the tile work was poorly crafted. Initially I had difficulty getting the television to give me picture and sound at the same time, but after a call to the front desk, and some technical support, that was all sorted out. The hotel has a great location and they even rent bicycle cruisers for taking in the sights at Santa Monica beach if you're there for a vacation. Parking for $12 a day seemed pricey, but at least they have parking available. I like the interior courtyard, which is nicely lit at night and some of the rooms have kitchenettes and balconies. Great location right on beach and walking distance to Promenade, Pier, restaurants. Older building kept clean but could use remodel in bathroom. Would stay again.

Lovely hotel, and right across the road from Santa Monica beach.....only a few minutes walk to the pier! Amazing service - Bayside couldn't be friendlier or easier to recommend! Brilliant!

It was an old hotel across the street from the beach. The bathrooms were not updated in the garden view rooms. The only heat was from a free standing oil heater. The beds were comfortable. Parking was tricky. If you are on a budget, this place isn't too bad.

Great Hotel in a great area.

We had a snafu and the guest I'd made a reservation for didn't show up on the scheduled arrival date. The hotel accommodated him for a change in reservation dates on exception even though they didn't have to. Thank you! We will use you for future guest stays.
