KENNEBUNK GALLERY COTTAGES - Kennebunk

Nice, cute place but 1 bad experience. we had an unpleasant incident in our cottage and when we tried to speak to the owners abt it, they did not take responsibility for it and did not seem to care that we were having an upleasant experience. we left with negative feelings and b/c of that, we would not stay there again.

Pretty much it in a nutshell.

We had a wonderful experience. Our cabin had everything we needed. It was rustic but not shabby. The pool is beautiful. What we liked best was that it was only 1 mile away from the busy traffic. We will stay there again.

The owners were doing the best they could. The room was not partcularly clean. The beds were broken down- the matresses were flat on the top- with no support. The directions to get to the hotel were not correct on the internet reservation- advised us to use exit 35, was supposed to be exit 25. It was convienent for two nights and close to Hwy 1. The room was very clean but the bed was a little uncomfortable. Good service though and friendly managers. I would recommend it to others, it was pretty quite as well.

We recently stay at the Kennebunk Gallery Cottages. We picked it after reading the many good reviews on this establishment. While the location was great, I was very disappointed in the condition of the cottages. They need some TLC. The air conditioner was very old, dusty, and noisy. Although it was very warm we were unable to keep thye AC on at night […] due to the noise level it made. I agree that the pool area was very nice. It wouldn't take much to spruce up the place a little and get more updated air conditioners. Læs mere

The amenities were nice (coffee pot, dishes, silverware, etc) but this is a barebones cottage. We spent very little time there, so it wasn't a tremendous problem, but you're not looking at a very spacious or luxurious place. The management was VERY helpful and would bend over backwards to help you. It was a centrally located place, so there were a number […] of options for dinner and sightseeing. It's important to realize that this isn't a place for relaxing or to spend lots of time, it's a place to crash and maybe eat a simple meal. If that's what your looking for, you've found the perfect place. There were just a couple negatives to consider. The curtain over the sliding door entrance was minimally adequate for privacy. Very quiet. Nice little cottages in a wooded setting. Very clean swimming pool for those who want to take a swim. The cottages are very clean and we found the beds to be very comfortable even though they are firm. For the money you pay they are well worth it. Did not hear any thing from the adjoining units. The only thing that woke us up was the motorcycles […] that started up in the morning-but it was time for us to wake up anyway. If you are on a budget and don't need water views I recommend you give it a try. Læs mere

We had a very good stay, great value for the price, very clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Plenty of space in my two-bedroom cottage, especially as I was alone; but the couch was worn down and kind of grimy, the television was tiny [though functional], and the phone seemed not to be working.

VERY nice and helpful staff. Will definitely be staying there and reccomending it to others. Great price and sparkling clean pool!

I stayed with my fiance this past weekend, and all I can say is we will be back. This place was wonderful. Set back from the road which is already fairly quiet. The location couldn't be better, as it is just seconds from downtown Kennebunk. So many cool little shops. The hotel staff was great. A husband and wife team. Stay here!

Cottage was everything we were looking for and more. This cottage had two bedrooms, Kitchen, Living room Cable tv. Ingound pool. Outdoors you had a vollyball net, and yur own grill. Unit was kept very clean and would recommend it to family and freinds

Ouiet, clean and everything you need for no-frills stay at a no-frills price! Terrific owners! We will definitely come back in the near future...

Friendly family run motel in a convenient location. Beds a little hard for my liking and room a bit musty but it was fine with the windows open. Very satisfactory for the price. I would stay there again.

Good location, not a major faceless national chain. Only complaint is that the showers are very finicky--it's hard to get the temperature set right, and it often changes on you with no warning. I think that happens at peak use; the system doesn't seem to be able to handle a lot of people making adjustments all at once. Otherwise, enjoyed it.

We enjoyed our stay and found the surrounding area full of things to do like browsing antiques, shopping, and the cottage was only a short drive from the beach. Restaurants and other services were plentiful in the area. We'll need to stop in again sometime to explore some more. The pool was nice and the grounds were well kept.
