Nice location and hotel is set conveniently near attractions. However, if you stay a weekend beware the partiers that stay there and are allowed to keep other sleeping guest up all nite for hours. They need to be accomidating to the guest that are trying to sleep instead of beinga afraid to evict disrespectful guest that are partying and keeping others […] up for hours screaming and jumping down the halls. The hotel was very nice and well maintained however there was a bus stop right outside our room's window. Every few hours all night long busses were coming by and announcing the route/destination with a mega phone. Needless to say we did not get much sleep.

The room was very nice and helpful. The room very clean. The breakfast was lacking. They ran out of yogurt and oatmeal every morning. Only had a few oranges and apples.

Stay here if you love noisy guest who fight, screaming kids and a rude staff!!

Nice hotel, a bit dated. Very comfortable beds. Strongly suggest you request ocean view or the traffic noise will be a problem.

Unless you are paying for the ocean view that is many blocks away, you are stuck right on the corner of a busy intersection. Even with the windows shut and curtains drawn, it was still so noisy. Not recommended and not going back!

Stayed a weekend at this hotel.. Very Clean, Very Comfortable. Customer service could have been a little better, street that it was locate on was very busy. But overall great stay.

Arrived after a long day, had supper and went to bed. In the night and morning we found blood or feces stains on the wall of our bathroom. There were stains in the bathtub on the electrical receptacle and the sink was full of cracks. Toilet seat had a yellowed colour. The bedroom had large stains and dirt, goop of something that didnot belonged there. […] The table and chairs were inaccessible and one chair had dime size stains on it. The TV stand had its backboard broken and if you tried to plug in your computer in the socket there were nails sticking out of the TV stand that could hurt somebody seriously. The breakfast room was dirty and staff was not keeping up with just a few guest there. I brought all of these issues to the attention of the frontdesk staff. There was no manager present and after further review of the room I found a few more discrepancies. I asked if the front desk staff would inspect the room with me or my wife. They refused and called the manager by phone. There was no assistance or service period. I would highly recommend that people avoid this hotel at all cost unless I hear in the near future from the management of this hotel. My organization's staff and our tourism clients will not be directed to this property ever. Læs mere

We booked this hotel at the end of our vacation because we were flying out of LAX. Good deal for the price. Short walk, 10-15 min to beach area where there are nice restaurants and bars. Close to the beach and lovely clean jacuzzi room!

Enjoyed everything, missed the breakfast due to other plans. Glad to hear that it is included in the pricing. Will keep you in mind next time we are in town.

Beautiful small hotel close to beach and to LAX. Charming garden with Japanese bridge and fountain, great price for the area and much nicer than the more urban sites in LA. Got a complimentary pass to a gym across the street and noticed that the hotel has a small pool for the hotter months. Very friendly staff, lovely views from the breakfast garden, and big comfortable rooms. Bathrooms were not ultra-modern, but still quite good. Very good value for money, either for a seaside holiday, or for somewhere more quiet a 20min drive from LAX

I caked in to youn guy wearing a leather jacket listening to rap music. Got to my room and could hear every foot step and every word etc. from the neighboring room. I asked front desk to move me and the lady said " give me 10-15min". Never stayig here again.

Hotel Hermosa Lacks Customer Service This hotel is not a decent walking distance from the water. When we check in and out, we were never greeted not once. The simple necessities were absent. Hello, how are, how was your stay with us? When we arrived, this is an accurate transcript of our encounter “(Myself) Hello, we are here to check in. (Staff) What […] is your name? I need a driver’s license, and credit card. (Myself) Information provided. (Staff) Here is your room card. Place this inside you car, and sign this acknowledging you won’t have any parties, and that’s it.” (Myself) Where is the parking lot? How do we get to our room? I was also wondering about luggage assistance, amenities, food, and the local area. None of this information was provided. Our check out process was the same. We never received a greeting or a smile. Parking is severely limited if you are going during a holiday weekend I would avoid this Hotel. I was really interested in my stay at this hotel, until I met the staff. The décor while old was pleasant. Our room overlooked PCH, and you could hear the bus stop almost every time it stopped trough the closed window. Every time the bus stopped it would make an announcement. This is besides the street traffic, and pedestrian traffic which also seeped into the room. The wall in our room had a dredging water mark, as did the roof. The towels smelled of chemicals, and were rough to use. The refrigerator inside the room did not work properly. I asked if it was possibly to have a late check out since we would be dinning friends until late in the evening. We were told to call again or call at 7am for the morning manager. After several times of trying to reach somebody with authority for a late check out, the morning manager provided us with an extra hour. At 11:15 am we received a call saying we were late to check out. The person on the phone was advised of the extra hour we received, and we were told, “Do you really need the extra hour? This hotel is not walking distance to the water, and the surrounding neighborhood is not interesting at all. If you are looking for a hotel that has shopping, dining, and interesting things to do in the area, walking distance keep looking. We did drive to the water, and it took about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, when I booked I believed the description […] saying that it is a short walk to the water. That is untrue, and even if you wanted a nice long walk, the surrounding neighborhood was a little sketchy, particularly if you are a woman, or only with other women. You would not walk through the area. The hotel itself is fine. about at motel 6 quality, although they have decor that was probably fancy in the 1970s, its dated and has a strange smell. The woman at the front desk when we got there was rude, and short and very slow. They do not have good technology for tracking your info, and are just behind the times. Free WiFi that is true fiber optics (light speed). Many times you can visit hotels and they claim to have "Free" wireless internet, but there is a catch. Hotel Hermosa should be a four star hotel. I've been a guest at numerous 5 star hotels over the last 20 years and I can say that 99% of the Hotel Hermosa staff I met were pleasant. If not for the daytime […] manager it would be 100%. It is a "family" wholesome environment. Beautiful views of the ocean and beach from the hotel. The landscape is very beautiful also. If given the choice I would actually live at this hotel, yes, really. The continental breakfast was filled with surprises like, fresh waffles, eggs, other meats (pork), toast, English muffins, fruit, orange juice and many more items. It was like a breakfast buffet, so you could make whatever you wanted. I have never had this food option at 5 star hotels which charged three times what I paid. I was truly surprised regarding the experience I had. If not for the rude daytime manager (a woman), I would have given this rating a 5. Talk about value for money! This hotel is conveniently located about 15 minutes from LAX and just a few minutes to the beach. I was surprised that the decor of the public areas and the room itself was so nice considering the price. There is even a cute little garden area outside. Staff is friendly and helpful, too. Pleasantly surprised by hotel hermosa. About a 10 minute walk to the beach & near a nice running path, the hotel itself was clean & spacious, with a pool & hot tub and good complimentary continental breakfast. Front desk people are all very nice &Hermosa Beach itself is lovely. About a $25 cab ride to LAX from Hotel Hermosa. We enjoyed our stay and it was very convenient to get to Hermosa beach area where we went out to eat several times and also rented bicycles. Biking on the Strand was a fun activity. The pool at the hotel was very small and right next to Pacific Coast Highway. It was very loud traffic wise and not relaxing at all. I would recommend going to the beach […] instead. The included breakfast was so-so. The coffee was good but I would have liked real 1/2 and 1/2 rather than coffeemate. They ran out of cooked oatmeal every day, which was good, and the dry cereals were mainly sugary kid cereal. They had fruit but the bananas and oranges went fast with only apples remaining unless you got there early. It would be greatly improved by just making those few changes and maybe adding yogurt for a non- meat protein item. There were precooked eggs for making an egg muffin meal, but the day I took one it was stone cold, straight from a fridge and not heated, that was dissapointing. The other small thing I noticed was a supervisor being a bit rude to her front desk clerk, which I felt made it awkward for both of us. I was really okay just waiting a bit, but the supervisor loudly said, "You have got to watch the front desk". Otherwise it was a relatively pleasant low cost stay. Læs mere

This hotel has a somewhat tired appearance and decorations that look 70's......................The rooms are okay and the cleaning staff are excellent. Location is on a busy intersection with no choice but to drive if you need good food. Nowhere really within in convenient walking distance. Breakfast was interesting, consisting of cereal, waffle machines […] and waffle ingredients to use in it. There was bacon, sausages & a very strange egg pancake.................... However the biggest let down in the "restaurant" was the paper plates, plastic cutlery....................... A big plus point of this hotel was the underground parking which was free. we were down in southern ca to visit our daughter, who just landed her first "real" job as a teacher. do not know the area well being from central ca, but our daughter sees the hotel on her commute to work each day and it is located close to her apartment. took a chance and looked it up on hotels.com and found the rate and ammenities to our liking. […] really found a deal! the room was spacious, clean and the staff friendly. added bonus was the hot breakfast, and view from the patio area was great. Stay here, close to Hermosa Beach 5-10 minute walk.. Front desk staff really work with you in regards to extending your stay or whateva you might need. Location is awesome, you will not be let down here..

The woman that checked me in was rude and unprofessional. She was chewing her food as she was checking me. As I was waiting for her to finish another guest requested the name of the manager that she reports to. She was the only rude employee I encountered

Hermosa Hotel is close to: the gym, the pier, the beach and LAX. Staff (Candy) let me check in early and check out late; very helpful. I will definitely stay here again, although next time I will stay in a room on the beach side to avoid the traffic noise on the street side (PCH Highway). Decent continental breakfast as well.

The hotel is in a decent location. However, make sure you reserve a room with a view of the ocean. The other side of the hotel faces the street. The pool is small, the hotel itself seems old (not in a quaint way), the television gets maybe 10-12 watchable channels.

I certainly feel we got a lot of bang for the buck. I was duly impressed with the facilities. Upkeep, location, breakfast... it was all good.

Room was small. The lighting was not good at all. The shower was the most unusual shower ever unless you were 2ft tall. The breakfast was good.

The hotel staff was very helpful with explaining the options for tours, sights and attractions. The breakfasts were great and the place was spotless. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

Clean comfortable, no free wifi which should be basic. Poor television for this quality hotel. No "refeshments" available at pool which seems strange for semi resort. Otherwise pretty good. More relaxed area of hermosa/redondo which we appreciated. Lots of restaurants and beach within walking distance.
