This motel was very clean and the people were very friendly and informative. My wife has MS and the owner made some suggestions as what we could do. Thanks for a great time in Albuquerque!!!

The Monterey Motel stay wad very pleasant. The owners were very helpful with telling us about the places to eat, shop, visit and so on. Our room was always maintain very well. The over all experience was really good! We had a great time in your fair city. Thank you! :) The girls from New Albany, In. Give Victor a big hug for us! :)

The room is small and old but it is very clean and homey. There is no smoke smell and it is close to Old Town, the botanical gardens and the aquarium.

Tiny rooms, scary neighborhood . You must ring the buzzer or you can't get in. The Polish owners are afraid of the neighborhood also but they love to hear polish jokes. I wouldn't ever go there again

This is a very clean, very basic, budget motel on the old Route 66 leading out of Albuquerque. One is within walking distance of Old Town and the aquarium and a short car trip to several museums. Also withing walking distance is the Village Inn, a great restaurant for breakfast. Also within walking distance are a Walmart and a Subway. This is a great […] place to stay for people on a budget, and it is in a great location for other tourist sites and to jump on the freeway to take off for other areas. My wife and I travel a lot for pleasure. The Monterrey Non Smokers Hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in. It is small and of an older era. The reception by the owners was fabulous. They sought to please us in every way possible. The place was clean. The rates are very reasonable.

Excellent value for money, a great find on our Route 66 journey. Rooms comfortable and clean. Great neon sign too. Would definitely stay again.

Safe Location, nice restaurant across street. Walked to Old Downtown, Walked to Bio-Garden, Aquarium, and took the train from the Bio-Garden to the Zoo and back. Had to use the car to drive to the Sandia Casino about 8 miles away-beautiful location. It was easy to find. Hotel manager knows the territory well.

Although older, the motel was very clean and fresh smelling ! Pool was sparkling.

Nice, very clean, friendly and affordable motel in the historic district. The owners are very weet, offering recommendations for restaurants and things toe do nearby. We stayed just one night on a cross-country drive and it was the perfect respite from the road. We would certainly consider it for a longer stay as well.

This has got to be one of the best kept secrets in New Mexico! The place is spotless clean, comfortable, and within walking distance, even for this old lady, of Old Town and the Botanic Garden. It is an old 1950's one-story motel, but has been updated nicely and has a great pool. Even though it is on a main street, and therefore an easy drive to much […] of downtown, it is quiet. Breakfast is not served, but for the price, one can walk down to Old Town or make the short drive to Little Anita's and still save money. The owner is always available and has good suggestions for things to do or places to eat. If we are ever back in Albuquerque, we'll be back here. Læs mere

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is located in a very convenient location for what we wanted to see.... Zoo Old Town, Aquarium. The room was very clean and the kids loved the pok-a-dot sheets. We liked the two QUEEN size beds! The only discomfort was the room was really warm the first night. Granted it was 102 degrees outside but they should've […] had the a/c running for a while before we arrived. We checked in at 3:00pm and the room was uncomfortably warm all night! There was a ceiling fan in the room and that helped a little, but the a/c ran loud and the room didn't cool down until the morning. The next day it was comfortable and the a/c didn't have to work so hard to keep the room cool. We all had a great night sleep the second night! The pool was very nice and clean and there were plenty of chairs and tables around the pool area! There was also a nice clean laundry facility there. The soda machine was not very convenient! It only took dimes and there was no water to buy. Thankfully there is a Walgreens just a block away and we were able to buy water there and keep it cool in the mini refrigerator that was in the room. A great stop for Route 66 travelers (which we were). Great location - can walk to Old Town, and they provided us with a good dinner recommendation. Only stayed one night.

We stayed two nights in this motel, and everything was great. The rooms are exceptionally clean, the pool is very nice, and the owners are pleasant and helpful. Close to Old Town, the Aquarium and Botanic Gardens. And you can't beat the price! We recommend it highly.

We only flitted through, but it was within easy walking distance of the old town, and the people who run it are great. Very pleasant indeed.

This is a basic older motel with clean rooms, table and chairs, fridge, adequate space. The roses are spectacular, the grounds otherwise non-existent. You can walk a block to Walgreen's, 2 blocks to the Plaza and 3 blocks to the main museums. Natural History Museum and Explora highly recommended. It doesn't always turn out this way but the reviews for this treasure of a motel exceeded my expectations. The owners were a delight and not only made us feel welcome but went the extra mile to make sure my bicycle (carried on my car's bike rack) would be safe for the night. They also recommended a nearby restaurant that turned out to be just as much […] of a treasure as the hotel. It also turned out that the owners were of Polish decent and from Chicago. We are from the suburbs of Chicago, so we hit it off right away. We will not only stay here again, but have recommended it to other friends who travel through Albuquerque on a regular basis. Very nice old-fashioned motel. Quite clean with comfortable beds. Walking distance to Old Town, BioPark (botanical garden, zoo, and aquarium), and museums--Natural History and Art. Neighborhood may require caution if walking late at night. Free parking, laundry, and pool.

Friendly, helpful owners, who are proud of their property. Location for Albuquerque sightseeing is near perfect. Exceptionally clean. Clean laundry room with ironing boards large and small, iron, soap/softener dispenser, and table for folding laundry. Magazines and very informative concierge guidebook provided to fill washing deadtime. Separate room […] set up for vending. Older motel, but recently redecorated and upgraded rooms. New wall covering, carpeting, and bed covering sets. Very economical. All rooms open to outside and to unit-assigned parking. All face parking courtyard (helps block street noise). Classic Route 66 style motel, very clean, wonderful owner. Better than a chain to see what motels were...While exterior looks 'old' all was clean. Also stayed at 'better/ more expensive hotels in ABQ earlier in trip. Should ahve saved money and just stayed at this one

This is not the most up-to-date hotel. That said, it has been well maintained and is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The owner(?) was very pleasant and helpful. It is on Route 66 so it was very convenient and I have to say the great neon sign did add to the experience!

This is a great motel located right next to the old plaza and Albuquerque museum. It might seem dated initially but it's designed to reflect a motel of the era on Route 66. In fact the rooms are very comfortable with everything you could ever need. Rooms have fridges, coffee makers, lovely showers and comfortable beds. The only slight drawback is that the old town plaza is a little quiet After about 8.30. But there are buses to downtown and Nob Hill. All in all a great good value motel - highly recommended. The motel is an unpretentious, just off route 66, single storey classic drive up motel. The owners are welcoming and helpful. The place has modern facilities whllst still giving out the aura of the 50s and 60s. The motel is located close to the old Spanish historic down town and the botanic gardens. We really enjoyed our time here.

This is a great hotel for the price. Close to lots of attractions. Management was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool was clean and refreshing. I would definitely stay again.

Great little motel on route 66. About three blocks from old town. This hotel is well taken care of. The rooms and grounds are clean and the owner keeps an eye on everything. This is not the type of hotel that you would hear loud noises or partys. Good swimming pool in the back and up front parking.

After a brilliant drive through New Mexico's back roads, we arrived tired, hungry and covered in dust. The Monterey was easy to find and an impeccable motel in every way. it is a older motel but is kept very clean. in fact i was surprized at the cleanliness of the bethroom when concidering its age. the room we had had 2 queen beds and was large compared to other hotel rooms, plenty of room for 3 people to move around and not get in each others way. was nice and quiet and very very comfortable, in the closet was 2 extra […] blankets and extra pillows which came in very handy as i use 3 pillows myself. it is right on the original route 66 so was fun just knowing that. also only a couple of blocks from 'old town' and all the little shops and resturants. would definately stay here again. friendly and clean.
