Me and my new wife had a wonderful stay for our honeymoon. It was only like a 15 min. walk to the beach and the historic sites are only like 2 mins. away. The only real complaint we had was our pillows were not very confortable but other than that the stay was great.

Second time staying here. Again, great price and friendly staff. The room was clean and smelled nice. I think they had just gotten done shampooing the carpets. Nice to see a clean hotel at a great value.

We were in the area for a quick getaway and were very pleased. For the price, I think the service goes above and beyond, and I have never seen the staff at a hotel pay as much attention to detail. The rooms were spotless and I felt very welcome.

Well, it was just that: a good place to sleep. I can't say anything really negative, other than the towels were a bit worn (but that really didn't bother us - just the way it was). Room was clean, but smelled of a strong disinfectant and was very, very basic. There was a fridge (and microwave, i think), which was a nice bonus. Beds were OK, linens fine, […] but the area was busy and noisy (not really the hotel's fault). Desk clerk was efficient to the point of being brusque - in a hurry to get me out of the office and on my way. Again, this isn't the fault of hotel (or company), but many of the other guests were spring-breakers and noisy/foul-mouthed, etc. I am glad we only spent one night in transit. The only dislike we had was the room was smaller than it appeared in the pictures. But we adapted. It was not a deal breaker.

Had to ask for towels and the beds where kind of soft and cold cearal and toast for the contental breakfast but if your passing through its just fine.
"Nice Visit"
The Hotel was clean and well kept. I liked that they put us near the pool as we requested and they even let us check in a little early with no extra fees. It is in a great location. About a mile walking distance from the beach and about a 10 min drive to historic downtown. Loved that there was good shower pressure and plenty of hot water, beds were […] comfty and place was clean. The only things I would say that could use improvement is that the A/C said it was on 60 but the room never really got below about 74ish. To some this is ok but we like it a little cooler when we sleep. Only other thing is that the breakfast could use a little help. It is just breads and bagels, dry cereal, instant oatmeal and only coffee and oj to drink. Maybe just adding some fruit and apple juice would help. "Filthy towels"
The hotel was nice enough with the exception of the room smelled funny the whole time and all the towels were positively terrible. I thought my boyfriend had cut himself and cleaned up with the washcloth. He said no. The towel had very obvious blood stains on it. All the towels were very soiled looking and threadbare. "No what we expected."
Do not be confused... this is a MOTEL, not a hotel (room access from outside). Was not at the level we expected (may be our fault as we expected better room for price). We usually stay at one of the more prevalent chain hotels. This was a 1 room unit with older linens and towels. Heater/AC ran so loud you could not hear the TV. Breakfast which was included […] was marginal at best. Not bad I guess for a one night, passing thru but, could not see spending multiple days. Might work if you were on a budget or were a student at march break. Staff were extremly courtious and polite. Overall, would stay again if in a pinch but would likely look of more modern hotel if given the option. Læs mere

room was clean and ready at 1 pm for early check-in. Only problem was cable TV wasn't getting all channels - no ESPN on Saturday night.

I was happy with location, comfort and cleanliness, except the towels were hard, old and stained. We also were supposed to get free WiFi but couldn't get a hold of the hotel clerk to get the password, because he left. I can't believe the hotel was unattended through the night, but it was! "Pleasantly surprised"
It smelled kind of bad at first outside the hotel and the complementary breakfast was all cold foods but we had a great stay. It was so clean and was an excellent price for so close to the beach! We'll be back:)
"Great location, Wonderful staff"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was great, very conviently located in the center of all the attractions and the beach is with in walking distance.
The two things that could be improved are the towels are not soft and too rough and the A/C could have been a little cooler but overall we enjoyed our stay there and the staff was very informative and accommodating and helped us at all times. Close to the beach, within walking distance and we would stay there again.

Very convenient to beaches and shopping. 5 minutes or so from historic downtown St. Augustine but close to a few attraction(lighthouse&gator farm). The one big thing that I was not happy with was the Wi Fi was not working. I like to take pictures and download daily, but I was not able to complete this task because the connection at hotel never worked. […] The front desk was suppose to reset system but still nothing. "Bring towels"
Visit St. Augustine about 3-4 times per year but this was my first stay at this hotel. Checked in and the woman at the desk was very cordial but that changed when I requested some towels for the pool, she gave me three towels anyway. I was supposed to have two queen sized beds but the room only had doubles and was told by the front desk that the hotel […] only offers doubles that I was wrong. When I went to the desk there was a different woman there who refused to give any towels and TOLD me to go buy some. I reminded her that I was on vacation but she refused to discuss it further. "Ideal Beach Vacation without Owning a Beach Cottag"
The Best Value Ocean Inn is Godsend if you want a beach vacation without the astronomical real estate and tax rates eminent upon ownership of a beach cottage. The rates are very reasonable , and the rooms are well decorated for the price and quite clean. You are not right on the beach but within a comfortable half mile walk through residential area […] on Ocean Trace. The beach is beautiful and wide enough to park on within the cones established by St. John's County Law Enforcement and has clear, emerald waters around 82-85 degrees. Sands are white but hard packed and ideal for walking and jogging. The county provides life guard and surf condition alert services from 0930-0530hrs daily. In addition , the choices for meal times are wonderful and so convenient. Since the rooms feature dorm sized fridges and microwaves, you can go to either Winn-Dixie or Publix just to the north and do your meals yourselves off the delis or otherwise. You also have some quality locally-owned eateries to choose from. The motel's neighbor to the north is Zaharria's Greek Restaurant. One block to the south at Ocean Trace is the Oasis Restaurant featuring 44 screens for any news and sports available. Both Zaharria's and Oasis serve Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner and feature local bands nightly. Just north at old A1A-Beach Blvd. in the shopping center you have the Publix Deli, an Ice Cream Parlor, Verazzano's NY Pizza, Subway, and the Sea Oats Cafe(Brkfst and Lunch only). The Inn's pool is clear and clean and is a further source of relaxation and enjoyment. I must confess that the whole experience was so regenerative I didn't want to leave. I hope it goes the same for you if you choose this option. I can always continue dreaming of owning a beach place, but until then, this is the closest thing I've found. Læs mere

"It's okay"
We have stayed in several similar hotels on St .Augustine Beach in the past, and normally of this type/rating/cost. America's Best was okay for the price, and I'd recommend it if you know you want a value. There were minor things that need to be attended to, and a deep-clean wouldn't hurt it, but the help are nice enough, it's really convenient to the […] St. Aug area, and my daughter loved the pool.
