Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn - Oakhurst

We stay two nights at this hotel during our visit to the Yosemite NP. The hotel is located approximately a 30 min. drive from the south park entrance, but close to several restaurants, gas stations and so on. We didn’t try the hotel’s restaurant due to the bad reviews, but there were several good options around. The room was very spacious, but weirdly […] arranged. However, it had all what we needed, including a small kitchen if you wanted to cook something. The only thing was that our room was beside, which I believe was a room with the cleaning and service stuff. So we were awakened by country music both days at 6.30-7 in the morning. After our first night, the maid asked us if we needed any housekeeping, which I found strange, because normally you just get your room done. At the time of check-out there was a little bit confusion, because we thought we had paid for all our hotels for this vacation through Hotels.com. Apparently, for this hotel you could only make the reservation, but not the payment. Anyways, the lady at the front desk could have been more service minded when taken care of it. Læs mere

Vi havde bestilt 4 værelse til en enkelt overnatning på en rundtur i CA. Men hotellet var lå bedre og var så godt, at vi var lige ved at ændre vores planer blot for at overnatte en dag mere. Gode værelser og komfort. Rar pool til at svale af i oven på lang køretur og besøg i parken. Kan varmt anbefales

Vi anvendte hotellet som overnatning til ture til Yosemite. Køreturen til Porten til Parken er ca en halv time. Hotellet er lidt gammeldags men pænt og veholdt. Værelserne er meget store og rummelige. Der er et velfungerende fitness-rum samt møntvask faciliteter. Morgenmad kan købes på restaurant ved siden af hotellet (rabataftale for gæster på hotellet). […] Der er ikke så mange gode spisesteder i byen - vi fandt dem i al fald ikke. Efter at have tilbragt en hel dag i Yosemite var det dejligt at komme frem til et lækkert hotel. Absolut intet at klage over!

Flot hotel med fine værelser. Hotellet ligger 15 min. fra parken. Der er næsten 1 times kørsel til Yosemite village. Men turen går gennem den flotte natur.

Vi var 2 voksne og 2 børn afsted. Fantastisk med famileværelse (2 værelser med bad og køkken) Hotellet ligger i et fantastisk område med OK afsted til nationalparken. Kan anbefale den tur til parken som hotellet hjalp os med. Minus morgenmaden på de nærliggende restaurenter er meget amerikansk og kan være en udfordring. Vi boede her i 3 nætter med vores to mindre børn. Trods beliggenheden ved highwayen bemærkede vi den ikke, da de fleste værelser ligger gemt godt oppe bagved vejen. Børnene elskede at løbe rundt i nærområdet hvor der er små stier og hyggelig bevoksning og de elskede poolen, selvom det ikke var en børnepool. Afstand til indgang til Yosemite er ca 30 […] minutter og derfra er der ca 40 minutter til Yosemite Valley og ca. det samme til Glacier Point. Vi synes det var lidt langt at køre - især med to børn - men da der ikke var overnatning inde i parken, er dette et fint alternativ. Lækkert hotel med alle tænkelige bekvemmeligheder for en familie eller flok venner, der har tilbragt en uge på landevejen. Store værelser, kæmpe senge, restaurant, bar, inden- og udendørs pøl og spabad og møntvaskeri. Der er en rolig og tilbagelænet stemning på hotellet og betjeningen i reception og restaurant hører ikke til blandt de hurtigste. Hotellet ligger godt i forhold til adgang til Yosemite når man kommer fra San Francisco. Pænt og nydeligt og har den specielle bjørne stemning.

The biggest complaint I have about my stay is that the room had flies and nats in our room. This made our stay very uncomfortable.

We thought the hotel was just right for our needs, I would suggest staying one night North West of Yosemite and one night south or visa versa, as an hour trip up and down the same road was a bit tedious.Can't believe the 2** rating. Didn't try pool.

The staff was pleasant and hepful. Check in was qhuick. Room was large and clean. It was quiet. The breakfast buffet was delicious. I will return for future visits to Yosemite Park.

It was about an hour drive to Yosemite and a few minute to Bass Lake, and the room was clean, spacious, and the beds were comfy. The room included a mini fridge, sink, and microwave, as well as a/c and heater. There was also a nice little balcony to enjoy the fresh air. For the quality and complimentary buffet breakfast, the price was pretty good. The […] complimentary breakfast was great! They had french toast strips, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cereal, toast, oatmeal fresh juices, and coffee. Totally worth it with the price of the room. We also had dinner in the restaurant. The prices were a bit above what we expected and the food was just okay. I don't think they have many other good restaurants in town, so this was probably our best bet, since the rest of the town seemed dead. The front desk lobby people are not very friendly, and will continue talking to each other even when you're standing right in front of them. When you ask questions, they act like they don't understand or can't hear you. Then again, they just collect your money and give you your key, so as long as the room is good, it doesn't matter to me much. Other than that, if you ever go to Yosemite, you should stay here. Stayed here as an alternative to expensive hotels in or near Yosemite. Was pleasently surprised with the quality of the room and the way the hotel is set in sections up a wooded hillside...its nice just to take a walk through the property. Be aware that it takes 1hr 20min to get to the Yosemite Valley floor.. worth the savings in my opinion

Fair pricing, great location. Add directions and signs where the pools, and other amenities are located.

Relatively close to the park (takes ~45 minutes to drive to the Yosemite vllage). Comfy beds, good breakfast but the internet connection is from the 3d world. Should we have been on business, I would have swapped hotel. If internet is less important to you, this place is a good option.

Stayed just for a night but it was very comfortable and in a lovely setting. The fireplace in the room was a nice surprise! Complimentary buffet breakfast on Sunday was also a treat- it was busy and somewhat disorganized, but still tasty. Front desk staff was friendly. Great hotel to stay at for short-term. Good hotel for price, no complaints. Restaurant ok too, very pleasant lady (manager I think) in restaurant - nothing too bigger a problem. Would recommend staying here - great value for money.

My husband and I stayed here while we were going cross country skiing at Badger Pass. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the staff was nice. The room included a breakfast served in their dining room where you order off the menu. We had a very nice stay.

My wife and I were very pleased with this hotel. The grounds are excellent, nestled on a hill in and among many trees, yet located right on the main street, which did not pose a noise issue. The restaurant, regardless of how others reviewed it, was just fine, nothing wrong, in fact, good, though we ate only breakfast there. My wife and I were in the area on business and wanted to find a reasonable place to stay. This hotel was the most reasonable, therefore I didn't expect much. BOY what a pleasant surprise!! The hotel grounds are beautiful, and the room was very large and comfortable. Some reviews that I had read prior to booking the room stated that the decor was outdated, […] however our room must have been renovated because I didn't get that feeling at all. The room also had a semi private patio which was very nice, in fact in the evening a deer came up to graze in the grass just off of the patio. Front office staff not friendly at all. Restaurant staff very nice, but food not good.

This is a very nice, rustic hotel. The personnel were very accommodating. Our room had a beautiful view and it appeared that all rooms did. However, I would mention that if a person has problems with going up or down short flights of stairs, they should request a parking level room. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here on our way to Yosemite national park. Room was clean and warm. Great wi fi. Pool and spa were great.

Its a really nice, quiet and clean hotel. I was surprised because I didnt think it was going to be so nice. Its surrounded by lots of beautiful trees and nature scenes. I would definetly stay at that hotel again.

Enjoyed our stay. Love Oakhurst and surrounding area including Mariposa. Both areas close to family and friends. Love Judy's Donuts!

Room was ok. Close to some restaurants. A bit far from the Yosemite valley. Close to south entrance, but more than 1 hour drive to valley. For the price they could have included breakfast.

We were very pleased at the quality of hotel so closed to Yosemite. It is one of the closest hotels to the park without staying in the park. Clean, comfortable, nice rooms at a reasonable price.

I didn't really know what to expect as me and my girlfriend drove out of Yosemite. We read some yelp reviews, price was decent so we booked our hotel. We were extremely pleased with the service, room and amenities. The restaurant wasn't half bad either....who can complain of a long day of hiking and a 32 oz Beer for $6!!! Make my yearly trek to a weekend seminar in Yosemite. This Hotel is the perfect spot to stay after playing a few hands of black jack at Chukchansi the night before making the venture into Yosemite valley. Great clean hotel with good heater and shower.

Nice lodging and good proximity to Yosemite Park entrance =) Good for those who have driven a whole day and can rest the night before tackling the curvy roads leading into the park

Location is well landscaped and has an nice outdoors fell. The room is very spacious. Decor goes back to the '80s, but not a problem. Wish they separated the noisy families away from the quite coupes and seniors. Was quite noisy with kids running up and down stairs and screaming up and down hallways.

Really needs updating. The carpet had to be from the 80s...really ugly. The restaurant was also very dated...from the 60s maybe. Kind of yucky.
