King Frederik Inn - Solvang

Solvang er ikke så dansk endda. Det er en udpræget turistby/-attraktion. Det er en dyr by. 2 dage er mere end nok til at opleve det hele mere end én gang.

Et lille, hyggeligt hotel med dejlig pool. Hotellet ligger midt i byen, og man kan gå til det hele. Hotellet er lidt slidt og rengøringen ikke helt i top. Ligeledes ville vores toilet slet ikke trække ud. Jeg ville nok vælge et andet hotel, hvis jeg kom til Solvang igen.

Hvis du skal til Solvang, så er dette hotel hyggeligt, roligt og flot. Der er en fin pool og et lille varme spa. Personalet er ikke smilende, men det er faktisk noget vi generelt har set i USA. Morgenmaden var ok. Solvang som by = kedelig. Alt lukker tideligt, som i en dansk provinsby.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Had a microwave and small fridge which was nice. Great location in the middle of Solvang. The kleenex box had only 2 left in it. (they forgot to replace it) I didn't ask them to replace it since we were only staying 1 night. A little disappointed that the spa and pool closed at 9pm.....10 would be better. […] The continental breakfast wasn't much.....a few pastrys, only white bread for toast. coffee and orange juice.The location is a big plus! When I arrived at the hotel, here is what I noticed: outside of hotel in reasonable condition. Desk Clerk was nice. Original impression of room: ok, clean, reasonably maintained, needs a few upgrades. Sink kinda cheap. Flimsy, sliding door on bathroom. Kinda cheap shower, which later, after I used it turned out to easily leak water on floor. Tacky soap […] dispenser in shower (only). No bar soap provided. Other than that, the room was a normal hotel room. Desk guy went out of his way to give me a "better" room at my request. Service = decent. Room = (overall) ok. Location = Optimal. Caught housekeeping staff lounging in a suite, with the door open. I found that unprofessional. The suite next door look Very nice. Apparently, the hotel DID make a couple room Very nice....the Suite's. If you want a "Nice" room here, get one of those. Overall, for the location and pretty good service, I would consider staying here again only because of the Optimal location at the heart of town. Læs mere

I visit Solvang often. King Frederick Inn is in the center of town. Everyone at the hotel is very helpful. The Continental breakfast, that is included, isn't very exciting.

There was limited availability for the nights I wanted so I chose this motel for it's price and location. It was fine. Nothing fancy, but there was plenty of room. The bed was nice, pillows okay, towels better than some. It's on the main street of town with lots of traffic, but walking distance to tons of shopping and restaurants. WE enjoyed oyr stay only thing wrong some of the light bulbs did't work so it was hard to read when in bed .Also stores close too early.

Would totally stay there again. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to everything in Solvang. Was able to park right in front of room. A very enjoyable experience.

Friendly staff, but room was minimal. Breakfast was no more than sweet rolls and beverage. Hard to call it a Continental Breakfast. Noise from upper level and from swimming pool area was not acceptable. Would not stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone, for the money we paid.

This is an older hotel. It's kept up as much as it can be. Everything is clean, staff is nice, perfect location. Paper thin walls (forget any privacy in the bathroom), older beds. I knew what I was getting. It works for the price and the location. Really, really can't beat the location.

we stayed for one night and was satisfied and comfortable. The lady in the front desk was nice.Breakfast was very basic but was ok coz we are planning a big lunch. If we have to come back, we will definitely stay in this place.

Right smack in the middle of Solvang. Free continental breakfast (pastries, muffins, toast, coffee). Walk (or stumble) to and from wineries, restaurants, and bars. Room and hotel facilities are average but no better or worse than comparable properties.

Continental breakfast was located in the lobby. Area was very small with very little space to put trays on and it was awkward to get to things if there was more than 1 person trying to serve themselves. Room was a good size and clean apart from the hairball located by the loo. It met all of our needs, was basic, clean, and the beds were not hard as rock.

The stay was what you would expect. If you're looking for clean, inexpensive lodgings, this place does not disappoint. The only problem was the breakfast. I was there on business and had to be out of the hotel by 7 am, but the breakfast doesn't start until 7am, so I had to go elsewhere in the morning.

Overall very satisfied. The gentleman at the front desk was so helpful and courteous. The only issue we had was with "neighbors" that got very loud about midnight but that's not the hotel's fault, just very inconsiderate people! Apart from the corner of one bottom bed sheet being wet for no apparent reason our stay was most pleasant. The hotel couldn't be more central and Solvang was lovely at Christmas.

If you are looking for clean and perfect location this hotel is great. It is not fancy but convenient to everything in Solvang. The staff is friendly. The breakfast consists of toast and coffee or some baked goods (no cereal or fruit) When in Solvang there are many places to go for a delicious breakfast so splurge for it.

I enjoyed the stay with the exception of the thin walls. The room was very clean and well-maintained. My only complaint is that I could hear my neighbors' voices but they were quiet at night. The Front Desk lady was very friendly and helpful suggesting stores to find what I was seeking. It was very easy to get around the central area from here. I stayed on room 122. The room was clean enough, but the maid didn't change the sheets, we could tell by dust fluffs that had come off my son's new pajamas. The guy working at check in on Friday 127/12 was great, but I asked the guy on staff on Saturday 12/8/12 if he would mail postcards for me, he said "no, but you can put them in that mailbox on the […] wall." The Sunday am lady (12/9/12) was rude too. Too busy talking to a friend about her father. I asked if they had milk, just a glass of milk, for breakfast and she said no. Nothing else. So asked if juice and coffee was it and she said yes. Turns out that wasn't true, they did have tea and hot chocolate too. She jusr couldn't be put out by speaking in full sentences I guess. Overall it's in a great place in town, right in the middle of everything, I picked it for that reason due to the JulFest parade which went by two sides of the hotel, so that was fantastic, but if I go back, I'll stay at someplace with more friendly and one with more comfortable beds. Very small continental breakfast. Very few items offered. Would have liked to see some fruit and yogurt as an option. Ran out of cinnamon toast and it wasn't even half way through the breakfast period.

Needs some upgrades to make it more pleasing. Front door bottom was ripped; light was hard to turn on and off near bed- needs to offer more breakfast items.

Great location near restaurants, wine tasting rooms & shops in Solvang. Room was comfortable and parking was available next to the room's door. The danish in the free continental breakfast was very good.
