Best Western Premier Hotel Sant'Elena - Venedig

Vi boede på hotellet i 8 dage i august. Vi fortrød at vi ikke havde valgt et hotel tættere på centrum, men der var til gengæld dejlig ro på Sankt Elena. Service er helt i top og morgenmaden er et stort udvalg lige fra kage, æg & bacon til frugt og yoghurt. Vandbusstop er også dejligt tæt på hotellet og transport er nemt og tilgængeligt.

This hotel in Venice was excellent. It is three water taxi stops from the main section of Venice. That shouldn't bother anyone though, as the ferries come every 7 minutes, and it is only about a 7 minute ride. It is literally a one minute walk from the water ferry station. It is also in an extremely quiet section of Venice..slept with windows open, […] and didn't hear a sound. Rooms were great size, and bathrooms excellent. Excellent hot water and water pressure. We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sant Elena. Despite not being quite in the Center of Venice, it is an easy walk or short vaparetto from the main sites, and benefits from well appointed and sized rooms, especially for Venice The staff were courteous and helpful at all times. We would definitely stay here again!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Great Breakfast, nice and quiet location away from all the tourist frenzy, yet a just a brief and lovely walk to get to all the hotspots! Very close to the water bus stop as well.

I spent most of my time out of the hotel but when I was there it was a good hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good price and wants to stay on the island. Don't forget it's a good amount of time spent walking around all of Venice and the hotel is far from the train station so take a taxi boat to get there if you don't want to walk

The hotel was just beautiful,clean,convenient to the major sights, especially if you use the ferry pass. The staff were very helpful and very welcoming on arrival. I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, would recommend staying here to all.

We were a sort of late honneymooners.... The hotel is located at the far end of the main island and not easy to find the hotel on night arrival as we did. Nevertheless, we loved the hotel and the staff was helpfull. On the other hand, the location is a blessing for honeymooners.

Very nice hotel. The staff was quite friendly & helpful. Loved the surrounding area & the beautiful park behind the hotel. Very close to the Water Taxi terminal. Would strongly suggest to stay in this hotel if you like a peaceful getaway !!

Nice quiet surroundings but they were remodeling and we got the garden rooms. It was raining and we get wet every time we went out. Easy vaporetto connection to Venice specially if you buy the three day pass. Breakfast is included and good overall.

This hotel is wonderful and I highly recommend. It is not located in the middle of the tourist area but I think that is what makes it so wonderful as you can spend the day/eve in the hustle of the tourist areas then retreat to this quiet area. The hotel is in a very nice area out of the touristy area. It was very nice, very comfortable and very clean. A good size for a European hotel and we'd stay again for sure. Highly recommended. The staff was helpful.

It's is in a super quiet residential area. The water bus is only about 150 yards away and you can get anywhere you need to easily. We were glad we stayed out Side the tourist area which is very busy and noisy. It is an enjoyable 15-20 min walk to St. Mark's square. Get the water taxi ticket that includes the grand canal tour for an extra 10 Euro. You […] can but an unlimited ride water bus pass in different increments of time, very hand with the location of this hotel. Seems out if the way at first but once you understand the system, it isa great place to stay and be able to hear a pin drop after the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. My wife and I were convinced that it would be our destination to stay next time we get to Venice. Note a few small places to get a drink, coffee or pizza, etc... But if you want a full meal, do that in one of the more tourist areas before getting back th the hotel. Breakfast was included and acceptable. The hotel is a very nice hotel. The main issue that I had is that there was no hot water our first morning. I understand that these things happen, but there was no recourse from the staff - kind of like 'too bad'. Additionally, the staff told us that we needed one and a half hours to get to the airport, when in fact it took almost 2 and a half becuase […] we rode around on the airport shuttle for amost an hour before going to the airport. Hotel was pretty nice and had a good breakfast and free wifi. Area was far from San Marco, but close to water bus stop and was a really cool, local neighborhood / park that most tourists never see. Would definitely stay there again!

The hotel is very conveniently located in a very quiet neighbourhood. Water buses to all the must see places are less than 5 minutes away on foot. St Marks Square is an easy stroll of 20 minutes or so on the the flat. The Sant'Elena hotel is well maintained and blissfully quiet. Breakfasts were well presented and had plenty of variety to suit all tastes. […] Dinner at the hotel was quite pricey but the quality was great. Our only slight disappointment was that our ground floor room had no outlook and fairly high window sills so it was a bit cell-like. However it was very clean and had plenty of provisions. We would definitely ask for upper room or one facing the garden area if we returned for a future stay. The picture of the hotel was deceiving. This hotel is supposed to be a 4-star hotel; however, the mat for the shower looked like a rag. Clean towels were placed on the cleaning toilet. Bathroom has no counter to place personal items. We were quite satisfied with the Best Western St. Elena Hotel. The Jr. Suite we stayed in had a nice view of the courtyard, was very clean, modern, quiet, and newly renovated. The bed was very comfortable. The A/C was quiet and worked quite well. The bathroom was large and had modern fixtures. The shower was a bit too small, but had ample hot water […] and good water pressure. The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood, a 30 minute walk from Piazza San Marco. The walk is pleasant, except for the intense summer heat. There is a water taxi station very close to the hotel. As someone who travels 200+ days a year, this was by far one of the best hotels. It's in a quiet neighborhood next to the park. Hard to find in Venice. Local food. Not touristic. 6 minutes by boat to lido island and the beaches, 10 by boat to Marco square and 30 by boat to piazza de Roma where u can take a bus tithe airport. The water boat stop is right […] in front of the hotel. Don't waste ur money on a private water taxi. The hotel is clean,free wifi, awesome staff, delicious breakfast buffet is also free. This building is an old convent so the rooms are spacious with high ceilings and the decor is modern, not typical and tacky venetian style. Great clean modern hotel, good quiet location and not to dar from St Marco's. Would use again. If i had a complaint, it would be that the breakfast food could have been better, but you can't have everything.

Although generaly nice room the upkeep was disappointing, view from garden room was long grass and never cut. During a festival event they shut the kitchen at 9pm so could not get anything to eat after then.

This is a little gem of a hotel! We selected it based on the location - which was perfect - away from the tourist crowds, charming, quiet and clean, and couldn't be more pleased with the results. The room was clean and comfortable, the buffet breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options, and the front desk staff were friendly […] and helpful (all the recommendations they gave were spot-on#. From the Sant'Elena vaporetto stop, the hotel is a short walk through the park and up a block, which is easy when towing luggage. There's also a directional sign right off the stop. The best way to travel between the hotel and Marco Polo airport is the airport shuttle bus #No. 5 ACTV - 8 euros per person, clean and air conditioned, about 30 minutes) and the No. 5 vaporetto. Upon arrival in Venice, we took the Alilaguna water bus which took a long time, was crowded with other arriving passengers and their luggage, and made many stops between the airport and Lido. From Lido, one must switch to a vaporetto as Alilaguna does not stop at Sant'Elena. Taking the advise of the front desk staff upon our departure, we took the airport shuttle. The No 5 vaporetto stops at Sant'Elena and takes you all the way to Piazzale Roma, where the bus terminals are located. We ate dinner at a small family owned restuarant a couple nights, and had lunch at the local pizzaria. Wonderful local italian food! Læs mere

A very comfortable and clean hotel. We stayed in July 2012 and had good sized room with all the facilites we nedeed. Originally built as a convent, the building has 4 floors on 2 sides of a garden with some attractive ground floor, garden facing rooms and a restaurant added to the other 2 sides of the garden. A good breakfast was included, served in […] a central room overlooking the garden. The main distintive feature of the hotel is its location. It appears to be the only hotel on the island of Sant Elena, with the rest of the island being a residential area with local shops, cafes,and parks. This gave us the feeling of returning to a small local community after a busy day sightseeing. The waterbus stop is a short walk away and the hotel is approached through a pleasant wooded park. Clearly this hotel would not be the correct choice for someone who likes staying in a more compact hotel in the middle of a bustling city, however it suited us very well.St.Marks Square is only 3 stops away on the waterbus with the Lido only 1 stop in the other direction. Since the island is connected by bridges to the main part of Vencice you are not dependant on the waterbus, and can walk to St.Marks Square in about 30 minutes. From the airport we took the Alilaguna waterbus to the Lido and then changed to the local waterbus for 1 stop. This was better than taking the bus from the airport to the bus station which would then require a longer waterbus journey across the length of Venice. Læs mere

We wanted to be away from the madding crowds of Venice. This hotel is truly a hidden gem. Surrounded by parks and tree lined foreshores.... Rare for Venice. Local trattoria serving 5 euro pizzeria and 2 euro bire. You can walk to St Marks square in 20 min or catch water bus ....2 stops. Just visited for a few days with my daughter to celebrate her 18th birthday. The hotel for us was perfect, not saying it would be for all if you want to be in the centre of the City. From first arrival to departure reception staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and airy, with air conditioning that was a must. We arrived early, yet our […] room was made available to us after a 45 minute wait in the garden at 12noon. Our room request was also honoured. It is very close for the Vaporetti, and easy to find too. However we chose to walk along the waterfront into Venice, which I would say this is a comfortable 30 minute walk. This does give you chance to really feel the location and enjoy the view from afar. Breakfast was help yourself, and a good selection of cereals, breads, pastries along with bacon and eggs. Could not be faulted - especially with the option to choose to sit insides in the air conditioning or outside in the covered garden restaurant section. Quality shampoo, soap and shower gels are provided which is great when travelling with hand luggage only. I would strongly recommend, and would choose to stay here again. We had a fab few days in Venice. The hotel was just outside the centre so it was a quiet escape from the hussle of the city. It was so easy to jump on the waterbus which is about a one minute walk away or a ten minute walk to the centre.

Overall very good. Had a very good time. The hotel is located in an ideal place for site seeing and especially the beach. Travelling on the river bus was best way to get about - although quite expensive. We really enjoyed our time in Venice - a lovely country to visit. Thank you :)

This was our third time staying at the Sant'Elena. We were given the same room as our last stay. The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom could do with a bit of TLC. Staff were much friendlier and interactive compared to our previous stays. I love staying on Sant'Elena. The view as you walk into the centre of Venice is just beautiful and I never […] tire of it. There are also more bars and restaurants appearing locally. We were disappointed that the outdoor patio area was no longer accessible for breakfast as we felt this was one of the plus points of the hotel. We never ate in the restaurant as it was fully booked. At first we were concerned about the distance from San Marco and surrounding attractions, however, we quickly realized how nice it was to have a hotel away from the crowds. The hotel was close to St. Elena vaporetto station and was very easy to find. The hotel and neighborhood was quiet. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is a great hotel. Unfortunately I was there 1 week before the A/C was turned on and it was a bit muggy, that's the only thing that brought down the rating from excellent. The staff was incredible, some of the most helpful I found in all of Italy. The location is outside of Venice in a nice area with trees and locals. Being outside of the main city […] is no problem though - the vaporrato stop is right there and the walk to the center of the city is lovely and only takes about 15 minutes. Stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. Great location, peaceful and quiet. Room of a good size with all the usual amenities. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was in a light and airy room, good choice and quality of food. A 2 minute walk from the water bus stop and only 15 minute walk from St.Marks Square. Would return to this hotel in the future.

A long way from main attractions but we soon mastered water buses, and the distance from the hype of Venice became a plus. Lovely little Trattoria around the corner and area is mostly park with good spaces for kids.
